Dog owners, please be careful of who you hire. You don't want your dog to be the next victim--or…read morefind yourself facing an expensive veterinary bill. On October 26, 2023, I was walking my dog on the designated on-leash path near the clubhouse/lake area in Stern Grove when we encountered Adam Teitelbaum walking a pack of approximately 6-8 dogs. Every dog in his pack was off leash, despite this being an on-leash area. Two of the dogs approached us, and one suddenly attacked my on-leashed dog, biting her on the neck. The attack quickly escalated as several of the other dogs became aroused and ran over, mauling my dog. The dog clamped onto her neck and would not let go while I desperately tried to separate the dogs and protect her. During the struggle, I fell to the ground and injured my hip. What upset me most was Adam's response. He remained more than 10 feet away and did not physically intervene while the attack was taking place. If he called his dogs back, I did not hear it. The dogs eventually returned to him on its own after the attack. My dog suffered multiple bite wounds to her neck and body and required veterinary treatment. While the owner of the attacking dog paid the expensive veterinary bills, that does not erase the physical and emotional trauma my dog and I experienced. Adam was responsible for handling a large pack of dogs, all of them off leash, in an area where leashes are required. Based on what I witnessed, I do not believe he maintained adequate control of the dogs in his care or responded appropriately during a serious emergency. Although he told me he was not responsible because the attacking dog belonged to a client, I believe a professional dog walker has a responsibility to follow park rules, keep the dogs under control, and take immediate action when a dog attack occurs. Adam may be friendly, but based on my experience, He is an incompetent dog walker with poor judgment. What stays with me most is not only the attack itself, but watching a professional dog walker stand by while my dog was being attacked.

Adam came through for us when our regular walker was unavailable for a few months, and easily made…read moreour dog feel part of the pack he walks. He was also timely, communicative, and kind. Highly recommended.

OMG, Alia is incredible! We had to leave our 14 month old puppy for a 12 day work trip (SO GLAD TO…read moreFINALLY BE HOME!) and we had so much anxiety leaving him for this long for the first time. I cannot even begin to tell you how reassuring it was to see photos and videos of Moose playing and romping around in Golden Gate park and Alia's amazing backyard. Because of those regular updates we were able to really focus on our trip and let go of that worry. MOST importantly though.. we cannot say thank you to Alia enough. Moose is an 80+lb monster and we hadn't been the greatest at training him as much as we would have liked. He pulled, his recall was bad, and he lunged happily at new dogs a lot. NONE OF THAT EXISTS anymore. He stays when he's told, he doesn't pull, and he comes when called almost immediately. We were flabbergasted on our morning walk with him after coming home. Just wow. Alia, thank you thank you thank you thank you. You've not only given us peace of mind but you've given us a happier and more well behaved puppy. We're eternally grateful and so thankful for you.

We spent a lot of time and energy training her, and were very nervous to leave her in anyone else's care, but Alia and the rest of her team quickly put us at ease. Alia worked with us to understand and improve upon Kona's training, and she continues to lend us her professional expertise as Kona grows. Alia and her team are responsible, calm, and incredibly good at what they do. I know that they genuinely care about my dog, and she absolutely adores them. Plus, Alia works hard to go the extra mile for her clients. She maintains a very active instagram where we (and all of my friends and family across the country) go to check on Kona's day, she always sends updates and pics whenever we leave Kona for an overnight, and she truly takes the time to get to know us and our dog. After witnessing how well she takes care of Kona, my parents and my brother both hired her for their own pups, and now all the family dogs get to hang out a couple times a week at SF Doggers daycare. Alia is seriously a part of our family, and we would be lost without her.

Please see below for the message I had to send: I think it goes without saying that effective immediately, Daisy will not continue to be under your "care" in any way. After speaking with multiple friends with dogs, other dog walkers and her veterinarian, there is not a single person who thinks what transpired today was remotely okay. You not only told me you'd drop her off in the morning and didn't communicate a change of plans, but I had to go looking for her. Using her GPS collar, I found her sitting in the back of your van, in full sun, on a 70+ degree day with the front windows cracked one inch. She was with at least one other dog that I saw. She sat in these conditions for 1.5 HOURS. Not for an emergency or a car repair or an accident, but because of soccer?! Those priorities do not work for me. According to our veterinarian, it takes a 75 degree day to kill a dog in this way. She came home, and for the second time this week after your "care" she drank half her entire water bowl in one go. The first time she did this a few days ago, I thought it was a fluke but now I'm starting to put it together. Even more bewilderingly, this was an ELEVEN minute drive from my house and I was home the entire time wondering where my dog was. After looking at her GPS more thoroughly, I realized that she spent the night near Santa Cruz, at an unknown location for 17 hours. I did not giving my permission to take Daisy out of San Francisco, especially with her injury. It doesn't matter if it was *only* a 70 degree day, it doesn't matter that she was okay, NOTHING you could reply to this trying to justify your actions is valid. I know Daisy, and I know these conditions would make her, or any animal, very stressed. After 6 years, I feel angry, upset, betrayed and sad that our working relationship has to end like this but you've lost my trust to take care of her. Drop my keys off tomorrow- you can leave them under the mat and pick up your leash/ it will be hanging on the door.

They are very accommodating to last-minute time changes since my work schedule - reasonably priced - they occasionally send photos to you throughout the work day and send you a lot more early on to reassure you which is nice - the outside time is closely monitored but off leash and in a park which Olive loves - They're careful to towel her off if she gets crazy dirty. (We have white couches..) - employees genuinely seem like they're super compassionate and love dogs. Olive gets overwhelmingly excited whenever she hears me open the gate for them. - they text! Makes updates super easy I sincerely love Miller's Menagerie and will continue to use them for as long as we live in SF! Photos below are ones they've sent to me of Olive on walks!
