We have been part of the Sniff family since 2021 and couldn't be happier with the level of care and attentiveness to our two dogs. Enrolling your pup with the Sniff team is the single best decision you could ever make for your furry family member. It was certainly ours. Our Cavapoo, Maya, joined the Sniff family when she was only 12 weeks old. In the 15 months she spent with Jim & Benny and their team, she developed into a social, playful and (mostly!) obedient dog. We constantly receive comments at the dog park about how friendly Maya is and how great she is with her recall. Whilst we work hard with our own training, if we are honest, the credit should be going to the Sniff team for this. Maya loved her daily park excursions so much, that each morning before pick up, she literally trembled with excitement. She couldn't wait to meet up and romp around Dolores Park with all her pals! Every day was her dream day. My husband and I are so grateful to this whole team. Jim, Benny and the rest of their crew (Ben, Dan &Eleanor) have worked with our dog Rocket, and he LOVES them. We called them for our puppy training. We are first time dog owners and they were very knowledgeable. They gave us a bunch of tips which really helped us in training our dog Rocket. They are very flexible, which really helps when you're running late from work, they'll be more than happy to give your dog a late afternoon walk. We really enjoy the text we get after the dogs park visits. They're so fun to read, and just gives you a highlight of all the things you want to know about your dog's day out. At first, we were a little worried that a 2hr walk won't be enough for our high energy puppy to last the entire day, but we were wrong. He would be tired enough until the end of the day when we get home. We've boarded Rocket with them, and he thinks he's on vacation every time. Our dog's stomach seems to be on the more sensitive side, but Jim and Benny are always quick to respond to this situation whenever it happens. We lost our dog to our previous dog walker. So when we finally healed enough to get a new puppy, we wanted to carefully scream, whoever it was, that was going to take care of him when he went for his morning walks. My wife had bumped into Jim in Dolores Park almost a year before hand and had been so impressed with him and his care of the dogs. He was watching that we actually spent a couple of hours trying to figure out what company it was he worked for. It turned out he's one of the founders and owners. We contacted Sniff and they set up an interview with our dog Otto and us. They observed him in a park for about 20 minutes they played with him. They watched him to see how he would react in a variety of dog walking situations. Then they sat and interviewed us for 35 minutes. We were thrilled at their attention to detail and when Otto was excepted as a sniff dog, we were ecstatic. They have been a phenomenal organization for us. Not only do they walk in five days a week, they also are fantastic at communication throughout the day. We find out ahead of time when Otto is going to be picked up. We get a text before he gets dropped off. And we get a summary of his activities for the morning at about two in the afternoon. read more

My dog is picked up by his regular dog walker 5 days a week and walked to a park where he plays with similarly sized dogs in his play group, and then walked home. The Sniff team posts adorable daily Instagram videos of the dogs at play, which always make me smile. My dog started off in Sniff's "puppy prep" program, where Jim and/or Benny have one on one time with the puppy, training the dog leash manners and recall, and exposing the puppy to all sorts of city distractions-Muni, trucks, other dogs, toddlers, skateboarders and strangers. My dog has learned important dog skills through Sniff-how to meet and greet other dogs, how to indicate willingness and unwillingness to play, and rock solid recall. When my dog was two years old, he started being leash reactive, and Jim took us on a walk to show me how to make my dog less fearful. We have nothing but great things to say about the team at Sniff. Jim & Benny (the owners) were great from the get-go. We needed walkers for our mini dachshund, Juna, and searched high & low for a team that would provide the utmost level of care for our dog - who doesn't want that for their fur child?!? They were extremely responsive from the beginning: asking a lot of questions during the initial meet & greet and showed a high level of engagement in Juna. They went beyond just being dog walkers and worked with her (and us) to work through some of her anxieties to make her a much more confident and happy dog overall. One of the team members, Ben, was often the one to pick Juna up and whenever he would come and we were home, it was clear how much Juna would light up at the sight of him and say "C'YA DADS!! Time to go have fun with my friends!". Ben, along with the whole team, sent detailed updates of the adventures every day, with pick up and drop off notifications in addition to fun notes about the play session for the day. Sidenote - they go around and pick up all dogs on foot, walk them to a dog park where they meet up with the other team members, and then let all dogs in their pack interact and play with each other and the Sniff team members, and then walk them back home. And they do that for two groups a day. They must walk a million miles everyday - I don't know how they do it!! The nice thing is it's the best of both worlds - your dog gets an on leash walk, along with group socialization at the park. Jim & Benny also boarded Juna and would sent great updates but we were so comfortable it was like leaving her with family. They would take her on adventures to the beach, even I was jealous! They also helped us out a few times we were in a pinch for care - such as taking her for the whole day when she needed to be out of our home for service folks, etc - and were very accommodating in that regard. I could go on and on about how great they are. Unfortunately, we moved to an area of the city where they can't service; I guess they can only walk so far in a day ;) All jokes aside, we were very sad to have to leave them behind as Juna's caretakers, but very highly recommend them to anyone needing dog walking services. read more

Sniff SF - Benny, Jim and their team - are the best dog walkers in San Francisco, and offer the most loving, thorough boarding of anyone we've ever engaged to board any of our dogs. We spend a lot of time at dog parks or on dog walks, our Australian Shepherd requires a lot of outdoor time every single day. We see a lot of dog walkers in San Francisco and we have a very critical eye. There are some dog walkers who drive their dogs to the park, and then sit on a bench and watch them "play" for 45 minutes before driving them back to their houses. Sniff SF is not that kind of operation. Sniff SF walk to their clients' houses, walk their dogs to the park, and then engage them the entire time they are there before walking them home. All of their dogs romp, have fun, get a thorough workout, and have the time of their lives. They also insist on training dogs that are in their care, and work to resolve bad habits or issues that come up. Our Aussie *loves* them, and started playing with their pack at the park when we'd be there at the same time. My wife and I have spent 100s of hours in the park with Sniff SF, and can testify to their knowledge, patience, and thoroughness. They also board dogs, and offer the best boarding service we've ever experienced. We went to DC for spring break in 2016, and our puppy was less than a year old. By the time we were getting out of the house in DC to start our day, we'd receive the first (of many) texts of the day showing us how good a time our pup was having. While we were gone our pup got: 6am run with Benny, morning walk to the park and play with their morning group, afternoon walk to the park and play with their afternoon group, night walk after dinner. When we came home, our pup was happy to see us, but disappointed that his boot camp was over. You have to live in walking distance of them to qualify for dog walking services. But you can drop your dog off for boarding (as long as it has passed the "meet their pack and fit in" test of going on a few dog walks with them). Given some of the nightmare stories I've heard and experienced, Sniff SF is the best bet in town. read more

I was so happy to find Jim and Benny. Tucker our 1 year old Goldendoodle was so skittish and shy but is such a bubbly and sweet dog if he knows you. He was so scared of loud noises, strangers and if anyone entered the house he would be so scared of them while barking. If a visitor stood up he would pop up and start barking. Tucker has never bit anyone but his barking and manners were not appreciated of course :). So when Benny and Jim did their intake meeting, Tucker was so curious with them. Jim and Benny were absolutely patient with Tucker but most of all with my husband and I. We wanted to make sure Tucker received the right socialization. They were the perfect fit for our family. We trusted Tucker with them immediately from that meeting. Jim and Benny walk their pack to the park which enforces their walking manners and training and then they go off to romp with the rest of the pack. Tucker has been amazing with recall due to the work Jim and Benny has given him. There was an incredible difference just in the first 2 weeks. We saw a change in Tucker... he didn't jump and hide at every noise that went by as we walked down our neighborhood. He was slowly getting comfortable with people coming up to him to give him treats and slowly being petted by calm people. Tucker has always ducked away from peoples hands since people without permission would grab the fluff on his head while walking by. Jim and Benny sends us daily updates when they pick him up and afterwards. They are detailed with their texts and personalized. My colleagues love reading the daily updates that we get, they get super jealous. I give Jim and Benny all of the credit for the work that they have put into Tucker. Tucker is super enthusiastic anytime he hears or sees them. They have changed his life for the better. We could not have done this without them. We love our dog and love seeing him grow! They are amazing, they came to our house and gave us advice on how to stop Zeke barking, biting, and generally running crazy and then offered to meet us at the dog park to help with socializing him. All this was done without any charge as they are really invested in the well-being of dogs and helping people figure out how to make your dog be comfortable, friendly, happy, and trained. I feel so fortunate to have found Jim & Benny to walk our dog. We have been using their services for nearly two years and we are very happy. When we first got our dog, she was chewing things up and causing minor destruction in her space because she had so much energy and needed an outlet. Since she started walking with Sniff, she just comes home and falls asleep after a good workout. Because we work a lot, we couldn't possibly give her this level of exercise on a daily basis, and so I am grateful that we found a solution that keeps her happy and healthy. Aside from dog-walking, we have also used Sniff's services for dog sitting when we go on vacation. They send us pictures and videos of our girl cuddled up with their dogs or playing at the dog park, and we can relax knowing that not only is she well cared for, but she is having a great time too! Whenever we drop her off at their place, she dashes inside to see her friends. I think they are her "pack away from home", so to speak. One of the most important things, for me, with dog walkers is knowing that they are looking out for the dog's health at all times and that they will keep me in the loop if anything happens. Our dog is very fast and very fetch-oriented. She's had some minor injuries on her paws (because of the way that she runs and then breaks really hard), and they have always been awesome about letting us know right when it happened and bandaging/treating the wound when it was needed. Yes, I realize I'm a crazy dog owner. 1) They check for fox-tails 2) They wipe off paws on wet SF days 3) if they see something off with Alma (e.g. stomach issues) they let us know ALWAYS Whenever they've given us advice on choices for food / supplements (glucosamine to help joints), their counsel is spot on and has immediately helped (e.g. a food switch to Taste of the Wild) Every day that Alma is with the pack, we receive a quick text when they're picking her up and a brief recap after she's dropped off. There are no better dog walkers in San Francisco. I've been with Jim and Benny since very early on, and they have just been wonderful to my dog. My dog is a little over 12 years old, and he is in phenomenal shape, due almost entirely to the attention of Sniff. He has little to no arthritis, his eyes are great, and just recently I completed a hike of the Lost Coast with him in two days, which is a 25 mile beach hike. That's insane. He is also more people oriented than dog oriented, and needed some behavior modification for being a jerk to other dogs in the beginning, and Sniff were able to quickly iron it out and make him a more tolerant member of the pack. They also made him an incredible leash walker. He wasn't terrible to start with, but he wasn't good. He is such a cordial leash walker now. I miss them. We moved to Spain, which is exciting and wonderful, but I always knew that my dog was getting a huge amount of exercise and attention while I was at work in SF when Sniff came by. They play games and test skill sets with the dogs in the park for hours. Our 2 year old shiba inu, Bob, has been with them for about a year and absolutely loves them. They are so patient and have made Bob such a happy dog! He also boards with them at their homes when we are out of town, and we get great pictures and updates about Bob while we are gone. Honestly, I think Bob views it as a vacation! We trust the team more than 100%, like family and are so appreciative of the love and care they have shown Bob. They are THE BEST! read more

We recently enrolled our cocker spaniel pup with Sniff and could not be more impressed!! Jim, Benny, and the whole Sniff team show so much love and caring for our dog and give her the best experience. It gives us a much needed break on the weekdays, though usually we end up sitting around procrastinating work by watching how much fun she's having romping around with her friends in the park via their instagram. Sniff dog walkers have exceeded our expectations. Jim and Benny, the co-owners, have added two important skills to dog walking that we appreciate; daily communication with us via text and posted videos as well as daily training programs specifically designed for your "Fido". In our case the training is individually designed for three Australian Shepherds, one agility trained needing stimulation, one potentially aggressive male who they keep in check with love and attention and last but not least the good natured elder with his own special needs. Sniff as a duo, does not drive the dogs to and from parks, but rather walk them on leash to and from local parks, an added benefit for our pack. The destinations vary by day and week. Most importantly our dogs LOVE them! And, did we mention they are trustworthy and reliable? Jim and Benny are true professionals with the utmost commitment and enthusiasm. With their help, she has transformed from an anxious, scared-of-walking-anywhere pup, to a confident and fun-loving frequenter of dog parks and the great outdoors. Sniff goes above and beyond to make sure your dog is loved and well cared for. Unlike many other dog walkers we've encountered in San Francisco, they fully engage and interact with their dogs at parks and carefully monitor their safety. They even send you fun videos of your pup playing and detailed recaps of their adventures. I can't tell you how many times I've seen other walkers just stand on their phones while their dogs cause mayhem or lay around bored. If your dog is with Sniff, they are guaranteed a great time. Olive has made so many new doggie friends since joining the pack. Sniff is also unique in that they work entirely on foot and walk your dog to the park and back home so they get an awesome amount of exercise. Sniff is the best of the best! They really love and take care of all dogs like their own. Whenever I would replay a video they sent me around my puppy, Auggie, his ears would perk up and he'd stare at my phone when he heard their voice. They're very knowledgable and if they don't know the answer they will ask around until they find it! Benny and Jim only hire fabulous people and we never felt as if Auggie was in bad hands. The daily updates are always exciting and not just a repeat statement. They started with Auggie before he could go to the parks and he has been the easiest dog to raise because they didn't wait on training him in his most crucial training days. Auggie is a larger puppy and they trained him to be easy with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Recall is a big thing they work on and Auggie is comfortable off leash at 8months old.
