I'll present the facts first: I was driving in the slow lane, picked up my phone briefly for a second (as in literally then put it down) without even activating the screen, therefore it is like any other object in that moment and then the CHP patrol car in the far left lane started tailing me for some time, pulled up to the left and then pulled in front of me, flashing the light for a second before getting off at the next exist. Interpretation: This is a guy who is itching to exercise/abuse his authority but knew he didn't have me on anything since I was not speeding, even though I didn't speak or text on the phone nor even brought it anywhere close to me, it was simply within arms reach in the passenger side seat. I think this is a psychological issue but they will not filter for people like this nor do anything about it. Every officer is different, but experience like this makes me disgusted at even addressing one with respect with the title of officer. Notice none of the Yelp listings are claimed either and there are reviews dating years back. It seems to me whether you're writing a positive or negative review what it comes down to is they don't care. It's a nice idea that a positive experience is published, but will they even see those? I also know at other times when I've called to report something the person answering sounded like I'm just a bother. Heaven forbid actual public safety is taken care of.

He used racially charged and vulgar language toward her, repeatedly called her "stupid," and referred to her using profane and derogatory terms, including the "B-word." He assumed she was driving illegally without any basis and attempted to intimidate her by loudly identifying himself as a police officer, clapping his hands aggressively, and escalating the situation. A woman who identified herself as his girlfriend and who stated she was also an officer from Danville who was also off duty, arrived on the scene and was witnessed telling Officer Williams to calm down due to his erratic behavior. They both later provided false information to CHP about who was at fault for the accident. After researching we could only find her last name has the letters BAN in it. This kind of conduct is unacceptable, especially from someone entrusted with upholding the law. Officer Williams' actions were not only unprofessional but dangerous and discriminatory. After a very traumatic moving violation for running a red light on Halloween at Lombard and…read moreFillmore, where I almost ran down a motorcyclist who decided to stop in the middle of an intersection, I decided that I had been wronged. Slapped with a $280 dollar ticket, I chose to take my case to the SF Municipal Court and lay it all out in front of a judge. My attorney, more commonly known as my dad, told me Night Court was always the way to go. That way, the police officer who pulled me over would most likely not show up, and that way I could plead my case without being contested. I armed myself. I was ready to fight this ticket and ready to represent myself in a Court of Law. Complete with a diorama depicting the events of October 31st, 2005 made up of 3 Hot-Wheels Cars and a piece of paper made to look like the intersection , I made my way to the courthouse at about 6pm. There were some other offenders there, and we were told to get in line. At the front of the line, the bailiff handed us our cases, including the police report. The judge would be given the police report to read, at which point we would be able to plead our cases. If we decided not to plead our case, we would be given a reduced fine and mandatory traffic school. After reading over my police report, which was VERY incriminating, written from the Officer's POV, my counsel and I (again, my daddy) decided that we would not plead the case, but rather submit to the $50 dollar fine with traffic school. Although I was confident that I hadn't been in the wrong, once your right to pay the $50 dollars and take traffic school is waived, there's no going back. It would then be completely up to the Judge. We stuck around to listen to the other cases, just for kicks. The Judge was not Harry T. Stone. Bull wasn't there, and Night Court is actually pretty drab. I mean, I was in the Moving Violations division, so that might have had something to do with that. Nonetheless, Mr. Judge Dude was pretty hawt. I was starting to regret my decision, just when "guy who ran a stop sign (GWRSS)" was up to plead his case. It went a little something like this: Hottie Judge- So, what happened? GWRSS - I was going down a hill, and I stopped, but my car rolled a little through the stop sign, and that's when I got pulled over. Hottie Judge - So you are saying you stopped at the stop sign? GWRSS - Yessir. Hottie Judge - I see reasonable doubt in this case, and I will dismiss it. You can go. Oh HELL to the NO! I had a frickin diorama ready for Hottie Judge and Mr. Reasonable Doubt over there just got let loose without even a slap on the wrist. I could of taken him. I could have won my case. In fact, I am sure of it. Moral of this sad, arduous, lengthy tale is -- fight your traffic violations. Even if you were in the wrong, still go to night court and get the $50 dollar fine. It's totally worth it, plus learning about our legal system can be an enjoyable, if not educational, nighttime event. ;)

While I rode shotgun running errands with my realtor neighbor (he has the most interesting stories about the houses and parties he's been to), I jumped out to buy a SFFD T-shirt for my son. Every firehouse has its own logo T-shirt, proceeds support the station and it's cool to collect them. If you have a child or niece or nephew who seems to have everything, get one of these shirts. You'll support the SFFD and your kid will get bragging rights!

"Fire, Fire, Fire." I'm always on fire when I walk pass the fire department... just thinking about…read morethe firemen makes me hot. Hoses, ladders, and poles...oh my goodness... HOT FIRE BELOW ;-)! No hook-and-ladder can be found at this fire station, just a fire engine, rescue/medic, good-lookin' firemen, a chef, and one fire woman :-)! With the station just half a block away from my apartment, I hear the sirens every 10 minutes (when I'm home chillin'), but it doesn't bother me. Once I hear the engine coming, I drop whatever I am doing, run to a window to check it out. A few minutes later, I will hear it coming up the hill, I will drop whatever I am doing and run to the window and check it out...again! Some of the firemen are so f'ing sexy, I almost want to start a "fake" fire (a small one) in the apartment so they can come and save the day! Okay, maybe thinking about it is alright, but not actually doing it. If it's a 1st Alarm Fire, Fire Engine Co #28 is the first to respond and I just realized that is why the engine is out all the time. A fun fact: engines are staffed with 1 officer and 3 firefighters. On nice, sunny nights and days, a few firemen can be spotted throwing the football around on the sidewalk. If you're lucky, they may even ask you to play with them ;-)!

The good part was I called the officer trough the switch board of the police department, left a message, He cared to call back and clarify the issue, and in fact I was mistaking the Law. The measurement was from the passenger side not the driver side----- So, Now I have to pay a $40.00 ticket. I understand that issuing citations is part of the job and there is a certain stress level built into the occupation. In general, I respect law enforcement and I'm a law abiding citizen with absolutely no previous record. Today, I was pulled over while riding my bicycle for "rolling through" a stop sign. Fair enough, a verbal warning and/or a ticket followed by an exchange of pleasantries such as "Be safe, and have a nice day" would have been greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, instead of returning the respect that I was showing the officer, I received nothing but disrespect from the officer. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of people skills and frankly the lack of respect this individual displayed as a representative of law enforcement. I'm usually a very positive person but this experience just left me so drained and bummed out that I felt it necessary to join yelp to express my dissatisfaction. Please note: I'm not advocating that civil disobedience, malfeasance, or the like should be tolerated by law enforcement. However, it seems to me that the police need to start showing a little respect when dealing with the folks who they are supposed to be serving. I'm seriously struggling with whether or not to favorably support law enforcement related programs moving forward as I feel helplessly under served by a group who touts they are here "To protect and serve". I'm hopeful that this message resonates loud and clear to those who are either currently serving as officers and/or those who are considering a career in law enforcement.
