Are you preparing to close? Very limited inventory. With Dickens weekend 2022 approaching I am a bit dismayed.

Not much for people in their 20's, I think it's more of an older style type clothing, but very cute clothes! & neat little store!

We're not talking generic stuff either, the skirt and one of the tops were calvin kline and i saw a gucci purse there (not my style, but it was in great shape and has a great price). The best part about this place, however, is how the proceeds go to various community projects and scholarships. Quick Rundown: Atmosphere: 5/5 - nice little boutique vibe - reminds me of some of the vintage shops i once frequented when i lived in Los Angeles. The music was a perfect mix of pop/rock from the 80s/90s/00s and wasn't so loud you couldn't think. Staff: 5/5 Super sweet, and very helpful. They offered to get a room ready for me once they saw the number of items i was carrying about (probably thought i had lost my mind - which i suppose i had what with those prices). Parking/Location: 5/5 It's right on College Ave. It has a large parking lot and is easily within walking distance of Elmira College, Jimmy Johns, and the equally fabulous Yeni's ice cream parlor. Get there during one of their amazing dollar days and I bet you too will quickly be a convert! :)

Sarah and Raquel are the absolute best! I only started shopping in Pip's in March of this year, it…read morewas one of those stores I've always seen on Market Street but having only just graduated college and joined the workforce, wasn't really on my radar. Now a few years into my professional career, I stopped in in March just to have a look and left with two dresses I wear all the time. I went back a week or two later . . . and a week after that . . . and a week after that . . . And now I pop in weekly just to say hi. XD But for fact, the thing that stood out to me even as a 22 year old who normally shops at TJ Maxx the first time I went is that Raquel and Sarah are so sweet and helpful, but HONEST. They will always tell you if something isn't as flattering as it could be, AND they will find you a better item that does suit your shape or coloring better. I was at a closet crossroads where I no longer wore my college clothes very often, and most of my work clothes were things I got in a rush on sale when I got my first post-college professional job. Since March, I have replaced almost all of my closet with pieces I love and feel super confident in and feel like suit my shape and style. I represented my company at a conference earlier this week, got compliments on everything from my necklace to my shoes, got home and realized I had bought every item except my purse (earrings, necklace, blouse, jeans, shoes) at Pip's. The big thing that stands out to me is that I, a 22 year old, can go in and find an entire outfit and be there at the same time as a 45 year old mom of 3 who finds a great outfit, along with a 70 year old who has been shopping there for years and still finds things she loves. They have pieces for every age and body type, and you know that whatever you get, almost no one else will have because they get such specialized stock in small amounts. The jackets and shoes I've gotten from Pip's especially are staples. I wear the jackets daily, and every shoe I've gotten from them (stiletto heels to block heel boots to pumps to sandals to sneakers) has been a good fit for my high arches and so comfortable. I wear them constantly. I really can't say enough good things about Sarah and Raquel as people, either. I am an introvert who hates shopping for the most part, and really hates clothes shopping, but being able to go have a 1:1 with Raquel especially, and have her pull things for me and give me her opinion on shape and color and all that, makes it so easy. I love stopping just to say hi to her now. Yes, Pip's is a boutique that specialized in higher quality items and luxury goods. You can find great deals on the sale rack for sure, but it is definitely the financial equivalent of shopping at Tommy Hilfiger before they closed downtown (RIP) or Nordstrom. However, the value I get buying a $100 item that does feel like a splurge in the moment but turns into a favorite in my closet I want to wear constantly to me seems like a much lower financial investment long term than the $30 item I might have gotten at a chain store but only worn on occasion because I don't love the fit and donated 6 months later. Even the fun items I buy feel like staples I will have for years to come and never get tired of. Including the pink carpenter pants I've worn everywhere from date night with heels to work to actually working on house projects. If you want a shopping experience that feels like it's truly tailored to you, to help you find things you love and will wear on repeat because you feel so confident in them, go to Pip's. Most fun "staples" you will ever buy. Sarah and Raquel take the time to truly build relationships with customers that are personal, not transactional. It was the first thing I noticed my first time shopping at Pip's, and I've just seen it more every day since.

I have big hips and a belly and I am hard to fit but the girl that helped me found stylish clothes that flattened my figure and made me feel good. I even wore one of the outfits out of the store. I am a really picky customer, but Beth was so helpful in letting me take my time to pick what I wanted and offering insight into the brand and its wearability. I recently purchased a pair of Liverpool ankle jeans from Bev & Co. I wore them once and washed…read morethem once. When I took the jeans out of the wash, I found a gaping, threadbare hole at the bottom of one leg, and the very beginnings of a hole near the bottom of the other leg. I immediately returned the jeans to Bev's and requested a refund. After a week had passed, i got a call from the manager who told me I could only have a 'credit' because either my washing machine ripped the jeans or I had bleached them. I explained that my washing machine has NEVER put holes in any article of clothing (much less jeans) and that I don't, and didn't, use bleach Then the manager said, "Well, it's your word against mine." Really? Apparently it's common practice for Bev & Co. staff to call their customers "liars." Most legitimate businesses will stand by their merchandise and respect their clientele. Not the case at Bev & Co. I don't know what was wrong with these jeans but they were unquestionably defective and it was not my fault. I currently have 5 articles of clothing in my closet that I purchased from Bev & Co: One by Ttibal, two by Habitat and two by Clara Sun Woo. Not exactly a fly-by-night customer. However, I guarantee you that I just made my last purchase at this so-called boutique. And that's no lie.
