We had MOLD that lead us to leave the apartments so they could do the "restoration". It flooded over 6 times. I had an infant living in that hazardous environment. For YEARS BEFORE FIXING. The manager Paula said "Yes, they found mold but it's not active anymore so you guys are fine." Wow, the audacity. They never compensated us for the multiple inconveniences, until the last time I demanded that they MAKE IT RIGHT. Paula gave us a "$100" gift card. And that was it. I demanded also that when the time came they let us out of our lease early with no penalties. Paula, agreed. The time came for us to finally leave those dumps of an apartment & when doing so I reached out to Paula to go through with what she agreed on. She denied she had agreed with me on that arrangement. She stated they fixed everything in a timely matter & was more than accommodating to us. Tell me how is taking over 2 years to finally fix the flooding issue a timely matter ? Make it make sense. Seldin & their staff treat everyone like they are not humans & that their livelihoods do not matter. I had to have an attorney work with me to help get me out of the lease. I'm glad I'm free & will do everything I can to warn people of the horrors they can avoid by not choosing Seldin The Oaks at Lakeview! Keep all written documents with them for proof. To add to the chaos, we had ant infestation & roaches. Dogs shit & piss right on your area of "lawn". We were on the first floor and the stairs in the main entrance sit directly on the bedroom wall, so constant stomping & you can hear the main door & the first entrance door inside the complex SLAM nonstop. Staff always left the office early, where they weren't there to help. Parking is horrible. They stated there's "security" patrolling. The 3 years I've been there I've never seen them once. The walls are paper thin. The pool was hardly open all this previous summer. I literally could keep complaining about this establishment. Please, do not get yourself in a major pickle, save yourself the inconveniences. Do not choose Seldin.

Just kidding, I'll try to be succinct. Overall, I highly recommend these apartments. I endured several staff changes throughout my time here, and please rest assured that the management AND maintenance staff members were quick to respond, respectful, and made things right when something went wrong (e.g., quickly tended to AC unit when it stopped working, got us a loaner washer when ours decided to open the flood gates, helped me get in touch with the roofing contractors when I got a nail in my car tire to get reimbursed, battled a big spider with fangs that was building his own apartment complex out of his spidery silky webby nastiness outside of my patio door, etc.). To close, moving out was an easy process. You just have to follow the rules you SIGNED YOUR NAME TO IN YOUR LEASING AGREEMENT. That may be a surprise to some of you, but please read the items to which you are agreeing. I read the lease. In fact, I read it every night before bed. That's a big nono and her former office assistant was in the office when it happened as well. The apts are like the crack house in the neighborhood, run down siding just falling off and left to lay on the property for weeks even months. Shauna thought it would be a good idea to replace the parking lot which was not bad at all instead of replacing the roof on the garages,which desperately needed it. One of the reasons I moved there was for the pool it was never filled, ever. I have had other tenants say it hasn't been filled in years. My upstairs neighbor kicked my dog in the face and got bit I saw it I got it on video shortly after she bought a brand new chrysler. The humane society saw the video did not remove my dog and I stead of Shauna reaching out to investigate she automatically slaps a 14 day notice to get rid of my dog whom is legally an emotional support animal signed off by my doctor. Then when I approached her about the 14 day notice that was out there on my daughter's birthday no less. She became angry and enraged rolled her eyes and was threatening me. Then when I brought up her allowing me to look through the OHA paperwork she blatantly lied to my face and said she would never. Fast forward because of that incident she then slapped a 14 day vacate for everyone in my household which is illegal. I then turned to my caseworker and several hours later I had a legal 30 day vacate before they evicted. The neighbor who attacked my dog still lives there. And whatever you do for the love of God do not move to these apartments you are not allowed to even smoke a vape on your balcony and there are Methican Americans or tweakers everywhere your car will get broken into it is just not a safe place all the way around! I wish there was a way to attach pictures to this so you can see for yourself! Also the last day I was moving I had to ask Shauna a question when I finally got her attention she literally looked at me and said what very rudely in front of other staff. Any issue we have had with the apartment has always been taken seriously and fixed promptly. Our apartment is the Oak layout. It's 1100 square feet broken into two floors (one is a loft, with a circular staircase up to it) and 1.5 baths. It also includes a fireplace and deck, which I think all the units do. Our bedroom has a walk-in closet that's pretty huge. There is also a large coat closet by the front door that we use for storage, as well as a small pantry in the middle of the apartment downstairs. The upstairs loft is nice and open, and could be used as a second bedroom or den/man cave, etc. There is also more storage upstairs with another wide closet available. The half-bath is upstairs, above the full bath that is downstairs. It's the exact same configuration as the downstairs bathroom but without the tub/shower. There is a laundry room on the first floor of each building. The only thing that would improve my love for our apartment would be if there were in-unit washers/dryers, but if that is the only thing missing to make it perfect, I think that's pretty fantastic! The clubhouse (that the leasing office is in) is rentable for events, and there is also a pool for residents. I've never rented the clubhouse, but I have swam in the pool and it's super well maintained and a nice little extra amenity to have. The property is located right on a lake, Candlewood Lake. So the neighborhood around the apartment is really gorgeous and pretty quiet. The best part of living here is that the rent is very affordable for the size and amenities you get, especially when compared to similar sized apartments around Omaha! If you're ever looking for a new apartment in the Northwest Omaha area, definitely take a tour of Lake Candlewood.

The amenities are amazing as well and are kept very tidy. Parking is free and we have never had an issue finding parking near our door.
