I must say that I am deeply concerned about its future. There was a time when UoT was my saving grace. I felt as though I needed a spiritual community that didn't judge me for being different. But times are different now and UoT has been suffering the very same fate that many spiritual communities face when they forget their founding principles. I witnessed staff members deny good patrons the opportunity to attend services because they were deemed "naysayers" or "troublesome" outsiders. Those same patrons were regularly defiled in weekly staff meetings. I watched excellent musicians and directors forced out of their posts because they were seen as nuisances. I saw all of this yet I kept coming back because I loved my friends and I love serving God through music. I answered the call to guest-conduct performances, direct choir rehearsals, design choral arrangements, accompany singers, appear as a featured soloist, sing duets, and even brought in a group of professional singers to perform. I was never paid for any of these services. I reached out several times over the decades to simply have a conversation, suggest a workshop, or a book series but it was clear that my voice was never and will never be welcome at UoT.

I have attended services, congregation community events and a few of the youth events as well. Growing up, church was very much apart of my daily life, however, as I have aged, my adult responsibilities have consumed most of my free time. My daughter is now a preteen and has always felt welcomed and has a sense of belonging with the Youth Ministry. She is always excited to attend and eager to bring friends to youth group on Wednesdays. Sam & Wally work so well with the students. I love that they feel comfortable to be themselves in a safe space where they can grow their faith and pour into each other. They make faith fun ! Pastor Justin is very genuine and down to earth. I'm always excited to see what pair of sneakers he is wearing during Sunday service. His sermons keep you engaged, entertained and I have appreciated the teaching at this church. The praise and worship team is so talented here. Truly gifted. If you are a foodie, you'll fit right in. This is a church that loves food ! I volunteered during the new year for their charcuterie themed gathering. Everything was delicious ! The congregation is very warm, genuine and they always make you feel right at home. We love NRCC because of the people, our men's bible study group and our life group's study of the bible. Pastor Justin speaks Gods word through his sermons each Sunday and many times you can feel the lords spirit in the church. His sermons are always relevant in todays world with your walk with God. NRCC church message is "Its Ok Not To Be Ok" when you first attend our church, but it is not ok to stay that way.
