All that work at his office are great!! so caring and gentle and professional. They really advocated for me when my work comp insurance didnt want to pay for the ablation. They went above and beyond to get me the care I needed and tried different non narcotics . When I finnaly had my ablation done by dr Harris and it was AMAZING!!!!. It has been almost a year.. and only now am I starting to really get the pain back but still not to the intensity as before. The pain i had after the RFA procedure was much less from just one procedure . I was almost totally disabled before dr harris and other doctors had tried eveerything. Dr Harris is a miracle worker in my opinion. I could barely do my daily functions. Only negative is that you usually have to wait a little past your appt time for follow up visits..but it's also becase he doesnt rush the visit. THANK YOU thank you Dr Harris and the team!

I have a documented broken bone (Hill-Sachs fracture) and a torn labrum--real, objective injuries--and he made it clear he did not care. He talked over me, shut the conversation down immediately, and showed zero interest in discussing any solution whatsoever. No alternatives. No plan. No attempt to listen. His attitude was essentially: "You're in pain? That's too bad!" That's not medical care--that's arrogance. And shocking for a Dr that manages pain to just ignore everything you say, ignore mri results showing the severity of my injury, inability to function normally because of the pain.. to just kick you to the curb. This doctor would rather let a patient suffer than spend even a few minutes doing his job. If you're expecting compassion, problem-solving, or even basic professionalism, save your money and go somewhere else. You will not be heard here.

Dr. Messiha was extremely thorough both with reviewing my medical records and my face to face consultation with him. He did not rush me or rush to conclusions about procedures that may or may not help me. He spent a great deal of time explaining that my symptoms directly correlate with my MRI results and made me feel like I finally understood where my pain and limitations were coming from. Even though the referral from Kaiser included injections; Dr. Messiha left that decision totally up to me given my limitations with an allergy to steroids and the possibility that injections without steroids may not be helpful. He made recommendations to my PM&R physician at Kaiser and helped me make a plan going forward. As an RN I know how difficult navigating our health system is for both patients and providers and I was so pleased with how his office staff handled everything behind the scenes ahead of my appointment. I would highly recommend Dr. Messiha and his practice if you are in need of pain management or even a second opinion. He is beyond professional and I'm so happy I went to see him. Shortly after hanging up the phone, I got a text from the young girl who scheduled my appointment. She asked me to send her a copy of my driver's license by replying to the text, which I promptly did. On the day of my appointment, I arrived at the office 15 minutes early to fill out any additional paperwork. The girl answering the phones was busy making an appt for a new patient which, as I already knew, is very time-consuming. There were two other staff members present, but apparently none of them were trained to hand me my new patient check-in forms because they told me I'd have to wait. So finally, around 15 minutes later, the young girl was done with her phone call and able to check me in. The only problem is that I was not on their schedule. Not only that, but they didn't seem to have any record of me at all. Had I gone to the wrong office?? I scrolled through my texts to find the one requesting my license, in which the girl had stated her name. I said "isn't this you?" Yes, it was her and I was at the right place. Why am I not on the schedule at the time we discussed?? According to the young girl, she never received the picture of my license (which, from my end, had been sent), so she cancelled the appointment. No follow-up call requesting my license again. I don't even think I got a call letting me know they were cancelling the appt, although they had already set the precedent of communicating by text, so it would've been appropriate to send a follow-up text. When I pressed her to find out why there was no follow through, she said that she only works there part-time, so there was no way for her to follow up with me the next day, as it was her day off. Now, I don't solely blame her. She was obviously rather young and inexperienced and was just doing her best. But what a terrible lack of management that there are no procedures in place to handle this kind of thing! And what kind of establishment just cancels an appt after I obviously wanted to see the doctor, based on my initial investment of time in scheduling the appt?? I had already waited a couple of weeks for my appt, and I was in a tremendous amount of pain due to a pinched nerve in my neck. On top of that, they had wasted another 20 minutes of my time since I had arrived at the office for my appointment. The best they could do was to apologize and offer me an appointment in another week or so. No thanks. At this point, I think the appropriate thing for the doctor to do would be to see me that day. I understand maybe he was completely booked. Then he should stay late. I would've come back at the end of the day. I had already arranged to have the afternoon off from work so that I could be seen by him, and I find it inexcusable that the office is run in such a way that the staff just cancels appts because of one small piece of information missing. They demonstrated a total lack of consideration for my time and circumstances.

I went to the same pain management Dr I've seen in the past 8 years before and after my prior right shoulder replacement. I also suffer from a severe case Nail Pattella Syndrome that I was born with, its degenerative in nature and has caused chronic pain most of my life starting at 12 years of age with the radial head being excised from my right arm and now effecting my knees, elbows, shoulders back and hips. I went into pain management on May 17th and submitted current xrays and reports and told the Dr my surgery schedule for full shoulder replacement June 21st and again referenced having a severe case of NPS which he didn't even know what that was. I told him I was seen in the ER and that Dr supplied me with pain meds, I've not been on pain meds over 4 plus years. This Dr asked me what I wanted from him. I asked him did you look a the ER Dr's report and all that I submitted? He said no, I then told him to please look at the report and I just wanted to stay on the same meds that the ER Dr had given me, Norco 10/325s 3× a day and Flexiril 10s if possible until surgery June 21st and after for PT. He argued and told me an ER Dr would never have prescribed those meds and then told me he couldn't treat me and asked I leave his office with no referral to another Dr or explanation. I now have no pain management before or after surgery as the next closest appointment with another pain management Dr is October 17th. I'm in extreme pain and feel my rights as a patient and disabled person have been neglected and think my Dr has abandoned and discriminated me without reason.

I never had an issue, the staff was exemplary. So much so, I frequently filled out comment cards for them in house on how well I was treated and when I moved to Riverside I continued to drive to Laguna Hills to see Dr. Pouradib, he was that caring, compassionate and effective. I couldn't imagine ever going elsewhere. I honored the patient/doctor contract regarding medication explicitly, and truly felt like Dr. Pouradib was my partner in helping me live my life with such a degree of pain. The nightmare began when for whatever reason I was switched to Dr. Harris. A colder, less compassionate arrogant pain care provider It has never been my misfortune to meet. I don't know why he chose this specialty. He does not have the temperament to deal with people in pain, his manner is very condescending. Additionally, he is rarely available to his patient. No matter when I called, I never got a call back. He was only available to me once a month for a teleconference to go over my medication. Even when I called and specifically requested an in office appointment to see him to discuss how bad my pain had gotten, within 2-3 days the office would call and change it to a teleconference with Crystal, his PA, when I complained and said I had needed an in person appointment, I was told I could discuss it with Crystal when she called. In my opinion Dr. Harris, and I use the term doctor lightly, is no more than a medication prescriber, he does not want to look at other ways to possibly help the patient, but then he is quick to believe there is a problem based on incorrect messages he has received by a severely less competent, less caring staff who are just there to get paid at the end of the week and don't realize or care how critical it is to take an accurate message. I gave it a try, I tried discussing my feelings with him and even then I felt he couldn't care less what I was telling him. I felt he would prefer I left their practice. Even though he denied feeling that way, he was just so cold when he said "if that's what you want to do" so I did. I found a new provider who was just as caring and compassionate as Dr. Pouradib was and who was ready to be a partner with me in finding some new ways to manage my pain. I truly hope Dr. Harris and Dr. Pouradib are not partners because Dr. Harris will bring Pain Management Clinic down from an all 5 star clinic, to barely making 1 star reviews.

My new employer charges an extra $50.00 a month for my insurance if I don't get a yearly physical, but their spin is I get a $50.00 discount every month for seeing a physician once a year. Within the last year, Dr. Chang has moved to a new location ( https://bit.ly/31vpBEP ) which is near the corner of La Paz and Moulton Parkway in Laguna Hills. The space is nice for a doctor office and it is reasonably close to my home. The reception desk ( https://bit.ly/2J7YCbU ) is just inside the entrance and waiting area has a decent amount of seating. Once you name is called, the first step is getting your vitals ( https://bit.ly/2qw3CRv ) taken before you are walked to examination room. First time I had an appointment with Dr. Chang was three years ago and most of his criticism had to do with me looking like a human version of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. I managed to put on a few more pounds before I became disgusted with myself and lost over 80 pounds in about 6 months. I went for a physical exam because I was having some digestive distress and I guess I was due for a visit because it had been several years between examinations. Dr. Chang did listen and conducted a thorough physical which included the thrilling prostate exam. The first time he did this exam I was like "Oh, my God!" He replied, "I am just putting on the glove." On my most recent visit during the exam I moaned another doctor's name. Don't do that! "Who is Dr. Jones?" "You're the only one!" Some time in the future I will upgrade to the endoscopic examination which is more commonly known as a colonoscopy. For those not familiar with the procedure, you are put into a twilight sleep while a long, flexible tube with a tiny camera on the tip is inserted into your rectum. The camera is guided through your entire colon which basically makes you star of your own Discovery Channel special (I hope they get my good side). If Jacque Cousteau was still alive, I would definitely want him doing the narration: "Slowly, we are going up Rohlin's colon. Up ahead a steak he had in 1988." On my latest visit, I received a fist bump for the weight loss, but Dr. Chang did mention some sun damage on my head and reminded me my shiny head isn't a solar collector. We briefly discussed my diet (which is atrocious), but since I don't smoke, rarely have caffeine or alcohol and not really a fan of narcotics, I am allowing myself a vice. The lungs sound really good and my vitals are excellent for someone in my age group. Rohlinism: If you don't enjoy your vices, you should find some new ones! The only thing I messed up during this latest visit was forgetting to fast which meant I couldn't get my blood drawn ( https://bit.ly/32Id9CQ ) until the following Friday. The technician who took my blood did it right the first time and the whole procedure was over in less than five minutes. I don't have large veins, so it can be annoying at times because technicians from time to time miss my vein. I like Dr. Chang and his staff which is a good thing since I will be seeing them at least once a year for the foreseeable future!
