Cute little boutique that carries random everything. Pricey, but if you're looking for something odd/specific and happen to be in the North End, worth a check out. I walk by this store nearly every day and I almost always like what I see in the window. Drawn in by the display a few times, I was impressed by the eclectic mix of stuff, but HIGHLY dismayed by the prices. The jewelery is great and the knick knacks are unique. The clothes seem very feminine and trendy. I keep going in and hoping for a sale, but I haven't had any luck so far so I think I'll just window shop from now on. read more

One of the three places in the Boston area (the others are Topaz and Mint Julep) where I actually find jewelry that I like. The housewares and clothing are adorable too, but what's really incredible about this place is the impeccable taste the owner (who's awesome!) has in jewelry. Everything is unique, not-too-expensive (like, you're treating yourself to something nice but not like you're buying a freaking engagement ring), and nothing you could make yourself, if you're into that sort of thing. read more

Cute shop but the clothing was outrageously priced, in my opinion, and most of the things in the store are non-essentials that you could buy knockoffs of from Target. To be honest, it was a weird mix of things (some homegoods, mostly clothing and jewelry) and nothing I saw as very unique- it's the same look as all the other boutiques in town, and all overpriced. The homegood items were also not terribly unique, I mean they are cute and I am sure there are some people who like the idea of buying from a boutique, but I'd rather pay a decent price for a comparable item since I'll never remember where I bought it in five years... read more

This is clearly a place to go on "Treat Yo Self" day. Although I suppose if you wanted you can treat others too. Very cute selection of stuff from bags, books, scarves, jewelry etc. Prices are high (hence the 'treat') but if you select the right item you would probably get to love it for a long time. This store is just OK, come on people. I walked by it everyday for 4 years and yes, they have really cute things don't get me wrong. But really, do you need anything from here? Absoultely not. Do you need to spend $200 on a shirt you can get someone else for $40? No way. If someone were to ask me about this place i would tell them don't even bother, their clothes are way overpriced and all their cute gatzi things I can get at Marshalls or some place else. Probably my favorite shop in the North End! My go to spot when I need to get a gift for someone. They have everything from cookbooks to beautiful clothes and accessories.. they even have a baby section! These ladies really know how to stock a store with staples and up and coming designers. Love love love this shop! They have the most unique items! It's my favorite shop in the north end. Great jewelry, clothing, but their sweet spot is home decor. I have purchased a lot of wonderful thing here! Tea cups, necklaces, gloves, plates, candles... SUCH a cute little shop, and SO helpful. I popped in while in Boston and found a perfume that I adored that I later discovered no one carried. Unfortunately, I miswrote the name of the fragrance on the card I took with me. When I called to see if I could get it cleared up, an associate walked through all the Lollia fragrances and described them all to me over the phone...and they ship! They have a wonderful earthy/homegrown/independent vibe, and the staff is always friendly. A great gift shop and clothing store in the North End..totally unexpected. I was walking my new puppy in the neighborhood and I usually just walk down Hanover but today I wandered over one block to Salem Street and discovered this great store. (They even let me bring my dog in!) Lots of beautiful jewelry in all price ranges. I saw gold bird necklaces for $18 and an awesome gold and shell piece for $120. The whole store has a cool vibe and I liked that they had lots of things to choose from; soaps, fun t-shirts, mini sequin clutches, pretty notebooks, an owl lamp, silk flowers...a little of everything, which kept me poking around for almost 30 minutes! Really fun, and I will definitely walk my dog on Salem regularly! read more

Shake the Tree is awesome little shop in the North End with an eclectic mix of goods for sale - clothing, jewelry, books, home decor, candles, hand creams and lotions, etc.... Shake has been in the neighborhood for many years and is a neighborhood anchor. The owner is great, has a great personality, and a wealth of knowledge. She keeps the store well stocked, and continuously updates the product lines. She also throws a lot of evening events in the spring and summer that are worth stopping by! Shake is located at the Greenway Park end of Salem St, one block over from Hanover, in a neat little section of retailers and restaurants. read more

the north end is a great ways to spend a girls night out. My mother and I go there all the time and shake the tree is the best. It may be a little costly, but everything is so worth it. i just bought two awesome candles at this fabulous little shop on salem street! the service at this store is great. the staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable about the products, many of which are locally made (they will let you know), which i love! i bought a lovely pair of earrings one time and when the post broke off of one of them the owner replaced them. when it broke again she gave me a refund and talked to the jeweler about the weak posts. this store has great little gifty items. i often purchase things for my apartment here and love how shake the tree helped me turn my house into a home! it's a little pricey but i still love the store, the staff, and supporting small businesses in boston! you should too :) read more

One of my favorite boutiques in Boston! They specialize in unique, high-end gifts & luxury items. It is a fun modge-podge of clothing, handbags, fine chocolates, jewelry, perfumes, stationary, cookbooks and baby items. The owner is a doll! She is genuinely friendly and helpful and treats window browsers and big-spenders equally which is unfortunately not always the case in some high-end boutiques. She is helpful butand doesn't hover. When I asked about any item in the store, she told me where the product came from in the world, the name of the artist or company and the material which is pretty impressive given the amount of stock. All the salespeople are the same: pleasant and low-key and seem happy to be working there. There is something in here for any girl and while everything is of exceptional quality and taste, the prices are a huge range from a beautiful $10 journal or $12 Roost handblown glassware to a $100+ piece of Alexis Bitar jewelry or Ella Moss jumper. This store is complete eye-candy and worth popping in to check it out! read more
