Average all around…read more Simple bar menu with average prices. Food is good, but nothing spectacular. Drink prices are slightly below normal. Service is adequate, have patience on busy days like BINGO on Wednesday, Saturday, & Sunday. They keep the place clean and the volume varies wildly depending on time of day and events. Check out their website calendar for bar, restaurant, and events schedule.

Anyway, the building, both inside and out looks great...neat, clean and more spacious than I can imagine them using unless their event gets REALLY busy. Our server, the bartender was polite and attentive. Coke products are in place with no Mr. Pibb or Dr. Pepper. Downside: the menu is very limited and a good bit more expensive than other posts. My flatbread pizza was just OK but definitely overcooked. My buddy's Walleye Bites were fine but there was nothing special about the tartar sauce nor the thick breading. The credit card "convenience charge" doesn't help...I used a debit card and still get confused when it appears on the bill. Who is the card convenient to...definitely not the guest. This place, while still new, is at the bottom of the Legion Post restaurants. There's lots of work to be done...starting with the menu.

This is for Lenten fish fry: ATMOSPHERE - This is one of the…read morebiggest VFWs I've been to. There's a large bar area, then in an adjoining room is a dinning space with another bar. It's very patriotic as you might imagine. There were lots of kids around, and everyone knew each other, which was lovely except there was a "you don't belong" attitude by some. In particular, the server in the bar in the dinning area ignored my two girlfriends to the point of taking an order from a gentleman standing BEHIND them. Thankfully the gentleman called her on it, and made her take their order. And I'm glad to say that was the only person who was openly rude. In fact, the people at the fish fry were all super friendly. FISH - The set up here is really great. You wait in line to pay, then the line becomes a line for the buffet. It's great to be able to fill up your own plate. The buffet table had baked beans, macaroni & cheese, dinner rolls, boiled potatoes with parsley, cole slaw, and of course, fish. A new serving of freshly fried fish came out every few minutes to replenish the buffet table. The fish had a breading type of batter (rather than a light fluffy batter.) It was light and flakey, hot and crispy, it was wonderful. COST - $10, this was a steal! EXTRAS - When we were there former Gov. Pawlenty and his family showed up. Plus or negative, that's your call.

Everyone raves about their Lenten Friday fish fries (we used to volunteer with or scout troop to…read morehelp bus tables), but fish has never been something I enjoy. We usually go with my parents after church on Saturdays. Most of the tables in the bar area are high top, and we have a 9-month old, so that can be difficult if all the lower tables are taken. But they do have high chairs available that work fine at the lower tables. Their food is always good, affordable, and out to your table quick. If it's crazy-busy with people ordering food, it might take a while, since I've never seen more than one cook in their small kitchen (they have another one that gets used for fish fries), but we've never had a problem, since most people are just ordering drinks. They only part that's a bit of a bummer for us, is that if you order a pop (the hubbs and I don't usually order alcoholic beverages), it comes in a small solo cup, and you have to pay for a refill (I'm sure that's part of being a bar). We each typically order a water and a pop right away, then we don't go thirsty or have to pay for another small pop.

Basically I have a car payment that was due on the 28th, car insurance due on the 1st, a phone that…read moreneeds a service plan, I have surgery coming up next month and won't be able to work for a while, as most of you know I have been diagnosed with HIV and it messes with my breathing bad, I'm up to the wazoo and bills even after raising all three of my credit scores by disputing unnecessary student loans and I don't know what else to do. So I'm going to give this a try and see if it works. The main thing is I need to get a new phone plan for the phone that my I think friend gave me so I can start doing these deliveries, like Postmates, Instacart, GrubHub, Doordash, Uber Eats, Shipt, Fresh Direct, Beelivery and many others that I have signed up for. I also want to add that this all came about when I was suspended for missing several shifts at work at My Brothers' Keeper in Shakopee which is a group home watching over fellows with developmental and intellectual disabilities. there were two primary reasons I was missing shifts. the first one is because my GPS was straight-up malfunctioning and because of all the detours in road closures in the cities, I was late. the second reason was because I was sick in a motel room for probably about 3 weeks or even closer to a month with what I thought was Corona. the company is nurse told me that it was not a priority at the time to get staff tested. a doctor told me that there is no use in getting tested because one in four tests came back with a false positive. a nurse practitioner told me that they were only looking after first responders and their own. The housing director told me that they would have a nurse or something along the lines of that position testing very shortly. I never heard anything back from any of them other than come back when you're symptom-free and without pain meds for three days. when it was time to come back I could barely speak but I was told that a lost voice was not a symptom and to go ahead and come back. I will continue to be sick and I would continue to miss shifts and in this whole process it was suspend me not only once for 2 weeks but again for a month. and then a client at the house overheard the house supervisor speaking about the fact that I would not be returning to work. that client then went and told me what she had said but the story got reversed and allegedly I told him that I would not be coming back and I did this while being suspended there for broke two rules. The funny thing is is there was another staff member and two other clients present but nobody vouched for me. I was told to come in again to the office and speak about boundaries and at that point I quit. earlier on in this process the head of HR and the housing director made a comment about me missing days. I explained to them it was because I was sick and they responded with why were you sick Steven? I responded with I don't know maybe HIV or Corona. they did this and said this with smirks on their face. when I confronted them with the fact that they had no reason to suspend me and I had done nothing before ordering work to ever jeopardize the health or safety of my clients, they had no response. So this is the position that I'm in an unemployment for whatever reason is not giving me a cent. I have 10 days to come up with five hundred bucks, and that's just for the car payment. Then there's car insurance which is 120 bucks, cell phone bill which is roughly 55 bucks, fuel costs which is probably a hundred bucks a week and just the usual toiletries food and honestly I'd like to be able to help out my mother and her fiance which I taking me in. I also would like to be able to pay back people that have loan me money even the ones that have said that I did not have to. My health insurance is covering next to nothing other than thank God, my $3,000 HIV med a month. other than that, they're only covering about 10% of my bills and my caseworker for whatever reason refuses to keep in contact with me. so guys just please help me. if need be I can give you the address of the company that loan me the car and I can give you the car insurance company for the cell phone bill company. I'm stuck. With that said, I do have great support and I thank those who continue to support me and keep me in their prayers.
