I didn't buy anything, but I left impressed enough (by the inventory) to put it on my list of places to shop again and/or recommend. There's a good variety of used and new items, along with various categories of goods.... big and small. Pricing varies as well, but you can bet your paying less than retail price. Some of the basics: sofas, artwork, rugs, paint, bedframes, lightbulbs, patio furniture, Some of the interesting: church pew, chandeliers, fancy stoves, building material (flooring, fixtures, cabinets) Some of the little things: command strips, paper towel holder, bath mat, frames There's so much, and you never know what you'll find during your visit so check it out. I will say, staff didn't seem warm and friendly (ie a smile, or offer to help), but at the same no one was directly rude. I gather if you ask for help, they'd assist. I noticed by the bed frames, a sign that said they have tools to disassemble, but you had to do it yourself, which is still helpful since some places wouldn't even offer that. read more

We bought paint supplies, pole extender $5 a deal, paint bucket, clamps to use when gluing and misc. Area rugs at $100 pricey for quality . An array of very nice two door refrigerators some perfect, some minor damage, washers, dryers, and nice items priced to sell. I would go again for deals on home supplies. Run by the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity these stores offer a place to donate gently used items that other recyclers don't handle: Furniture, windows, doors, lighting, tools, cabinets, etc. They resale it in their retail stores. Stumbled upon this place many years ago. A bit sad to say since they expanded the space, they seem to not have as much and the quality of what they do carry seems to have gone down quite a bit, but you can still find some great deals. Had to have a chuckle when we bought an item there that we didn't end up using and was well past the return ability, so we just wanted to donate it and we're told they don't take those items. I have always loved the idea that beautiful and well-made furniture should be reused and up-cycled when possible. I have been trying to find large area rugs for our mostly-hardwood house, and I'm so glad I stopped at the ReStore to check out their selection. I walked out with a beautiful BRAND NEW rug from a well known home furnishings brand for a fraction of the price. There wasn't a price tag initially on it since it was part of a recent shipment, but Bill was able to get the measurements checked for me and priced it right away. Spectacular care for customers and he was very careful when rolling it up and transporting it through the store so it wouldn't snag. Be sure to keep an eye out for the hot deals - flooring (including my new rug) was an extra 10% off which was great! I can't wait to stop back in to see what they have next! read more

My partner introduced me to this place and I have loved introducing other people to it. Private parking lot. There are so many things to browse through, they always have a decent selection of furniture, art, lighting, and home decor. I've bought primer and paint here, as well as supplies for interior work. They have a punch card. Their donation process is so smooth, I usually look for something to donate whenever I go shopping. You pull up, tell the attendant where the items are, they'll unload and give you a receipt. They stop taking donations 1 hour before they close so make sure you're aware of that. read more

This place is great! I just want to walk around and look all the time, I just wish they were open more days but it's a nice treat when I do get to go So far I've bought two large shelves from here and an old dresser I fixed up. The world really is your oyster here and you can spend as much or as little as you like. My parents are also obsessed with this place. Since my dad is super handy, this is where he goes for all his projects to get what he needs. They even have new paint! Don't bother with this place unless you want to be treated like dog poop, not greeted or treated pleasantly by anyone, and reminded over and over by many employees that they're going to close in a few minutes. I have a long history with Habitat as well as both ReStores, but after being treated really poorly at both locations in the Twin Cities, I'm just done. I'm done donating, I'm done volunteering, and I'm certainly done shopping at either location. At least until the horrible woman that runs one or both of these places goes on to a different company to insult new customers. I didn't get her name this time, because I was just dying to leave, and it doesn't really matter, since I won't be going back. I can't swear to it, but I believe she's the same nasty person who was so completely condescending to me when I was at the other location a year or so ago. She is clearly in a position of management and seems to have direction over all of the other employees/volunteers. I'm sure that the reason that most of the other workers in the store don't interact or help customers is because she sets such a wonderful example. She's a middle-aged thin white woman with really short hair and a horrible attitude as well as a giant chip on her shoulder. I really don't know how or why she works at a charity. Honestly, whoever her supervisor is really needs to put a hidden camera on this woman and pay attention to how she treats people. If a customer is even slightly annoyed about anything, she will get all sassy with you and make sure you know that you're completely worthless to her. She's one of those people who will use nice words with a crappy tone of voice to indicate that she's doing her job by saying the right thing, but that there's no possible way that she's being polite or sincere. And I honestly find it so completely infuriating. My complaint was that I had four different workers come up to me within 10 minutes to tell me that the store was going to be closing in a little while. The last one actually told me the store was about to close when I was 10 feet from the register and about to pay for my item. And that's after they turned off the lights a few minutes before they closed. So there I was, standing in the dark, holding my item, 10 feet from the cash register, and this clown was telling me the store is closing in a few minutes.The store is in a new location, and I couldn't find anything. Not one of those people who stopped to tell me to get out in a few minutes bothered to see if I needed any help. I told the guy at the register that I was just done and I'm not buying the item because he was the fourth person to tell me the store was going to close soon. To my knowledge, I've never ever in my entire life had dealings with such an infuriating person when it comes to customer service issues. This woman will not back down, she will never admit that anything is wrong, and she comes at you as if she's declaring war on you. It's bizarre, and it's really hard to understand. She seems to be the manager, so I suspect there's no cure for this problem. read more

Looking for specific antique-looking chandeliers... to turn into garden accessories! Did we hit the mother-load!!!!! Of course there were some higher priced pieces, (250 range) but ours will be hanging outside! We need cute, vintagy, and ready to hang in gardens!! We scored from the clearance rack! (5$ each) and some of the regular priced pieces were amazing (50$ range) and lots of new stuff too!! There were several chairs I WOULD have bought... but didn't have the need! If you're renovating (or building) a house... STOP HERE FIRST!! And all proceeds benefit a great charity! Win:win I will be going back on the regs! read more

Some amazing finds here. Furniture pieces are in great condition and have plenty of selection. The store is neat and well-organized considering how many different and unusual types of items they sell. There are lots of new, never used items in addition to donations from individuals. Pricing is mostly great. And the hunt is so fun. Oh yes, the staff is welcoming and knowledgeable and the volunteers are fun too. Totally worth your time to check them out. read more

I recommend the Habitat for Humanity ReStore to all my family and friends looking to update or renovate their home on a budget no matter how big or small their project is. They have a large variety of light fixtures. So this is the place I recommend for updating light fixtures. Of course, they have many other things as well. We bought a side by side cabinet to hang in our kitchen above the over-the-range microwave. We also purchased flooring, some carpentry tools, and a small shelf for my daughter's room. I love this place! It's a win for everyone. It's a place to donate tools, supplies, and building materials you no longer need, and to pick up any of those items for a fraction of the price you'd pay retail for. All in all, it benefits a great cause and your donations are tax deductible to boot. If you're shopping for stuff and not in any particular hurry, your patience will be rewarded by stopping back periodically as their inventory is always changing as donations come in. read more

I used to really love this place and the philosophy behind it, you donate used goods and leftover supplies to this place and the money raised helps fund housing for the needy. The Restore used to do more than that. It helped me a new homeowner to find affordable merchandise and restore my short-sale into a livable home while unemployed. More recently, management has seen fit to grossly overcharge for merchandise sometimes more than retail. Someone has taken their eye off the ball here trying to maximize profit. The Restore seems to have forgotten that they also helped the less fortunate by making used items affordable and they need to get back to their principals. read more

Great for lighting fixtures. I am converting a house to a rental and I needed several lighting fixtures. Very reasonable prices. I bought a 2 pack of lighting fixtures, NIB, for half the price ($15) that Menard's was selling the same fixtures for. I also picked up a mod-looking bathroom light that had never been used for $30. Some of their fixtures were only $1. This is also a great place to pick up interior and exterior door knobs, I picked up an exterior locking door knob set with keys, NIB for just $5. read more

Done with the this place. Got tired if ther rude workers at the St Croix Falls location then I had heard about their 'awesome' store on County Rd D and decided tho give them a try. It's true the place is huge and I spent 2 hours there just looking at all the great stuff there and found the perfect laundry room cabinets we've been looking for to put in the laundry room. That's where the great experience ended..I paid for them up front and they were going to hold them for me till the next day. I had to ask 3 times for them to put sold stickers on them and they brushed me off everytime saying to just let then know what the prices were on them.. like that was the solution to making sure someone else didn't buytheir attitudes were horrible and it was like I was bothering them.. every single one of them. Next day we drove back there from Taylor's Falls and they had sold all but one of the items and again their attitude was they couldn't care less that I had already paid for them and they sold them anyway simply because the couldn't listen and put sold stickers on them. I am one who volunteers for meals on wheels and donate often to charities that help people in need. Sad that all too often the volunteers have the attitude that you owe them something. I will never step foot into ReStore again. Btw.. ther price for the cabinets alone read 150$. I also had a cart full of stuff.. thr total bill?? 143$.. and I couldn't get it through the kids head that he completely under charged me. Much of their stuff is pretty beat up, chipped, and dirty. Only when they have the 50% off sales are the prices reasonable. One time I saw the same entertainment center as the one we had at home (which we bought on craigslist for $100) priced at $300. In price comparisons with Menards, they are usually 10-20% cheaper, but most of the time I am shocked by how high the price is given the quality of the inventory. read more

Earlier this year, I volunteered at the ReStore with some of my coworkers. We helped with a reorganization of the store by moving some shelving units, carrying some larger items like windows, and throwing out some old stock. Not only did it feel good to help spruce up the place, it was a lot of fun to get to know some of my coworkers better. It's one thing to exchange the occasional e-mail with someone at work and quite another to chat while doing heavy lifting. It was a great volunteer experience.
