Great food at a great price. It's sometimes a bit busy,so it can be a bit slow but it's worth the wait

The experience at this restaurant is weird. Show up at 11am…read more- you'll have a line out the door. That is understandable, as it's peak brunch time. You talk to the front desk, and they'll tell you there's an hour wait if you don't have a reservation. You look around and see open tables. You think: "that's odd". You check on the website and it says you can get a reservation for 15, 30, and 45 minutes from now. You select a reservation for 15 minutes from now, and magically there isn't an hour wait for you anymore. You note the still open tables and the line not moving. The restaurant is very loud. They're doing late 2010's industrial chic with not a soft surface in site and garage doors, so everybody's conversation bounces around indefinitely. You wait a while for a server to come. I find the way the food looks when it arrives is always different than the way it sounds when you read the menu - sometimes for better, and sometimes for worse. The coffee and bar menu is pretty decent for a brunch place. Prices are on the high end, though some are more reasonable than others. Then you get hit with a 3% credit card fee which isn't adequately disclosed on the menu or when you enter the restaurant.

The Mason Jar is an absolute treasure for those of us south of the river. It's the kind of…read moreneighborhood restaurant every community wishes it had. The food is consistently outstanding, with a menu that's creative, high quality, and has something for everyone whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or weekend brunch. We bring our whole family here for brunch, and my wife and I also love coming back for date nights. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and just the right mix of casual and upscale. It feels special without being pretentious. One of the things I appreciate most is not having to drive all the way into Minneapolis or St. Paul for a truly great meal. Sure, it's only about 25 minutes away, but it's fantastic to have a restaurant of this caliber right here in Eagan. As an added bonus, you can even order through DoorDash when you want the same great food at home. I honestly can't say enough good things about The Mason Jar. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out! Highly recommended.

The restaurant is a big space, with a lot of seating, which they definitely need. The menu is large with a variety of selections. It was difficult to decide what I wanted, finally decided to try the MN Favorites sampler; which consisted of Tator tot hotdish, chicken pot pie, & pouting. The puff pastry on top of the pot pie was "hard", not what you expect from puff pastry. The poutine was so rich I wouldn't order it as a meal, but definitely something that could/should be shared. Everything had great flavor and was delicious. One friend ordered the Hot chicken sandwich w/bacon and the other ordered the Hearty curry bowl. They both thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. They also have a large dessert case with a great selection of cupcakes and macaroons. I ordered a variety of the macaroons and a cupcake, to go. They were all yummy! I definitely plan to come back and try more of their delicious food & desserts.
