The space is beautiful and clean, even the showers are great - there are lots of showers, it's extremely clean and they even have hair dryers. The front desk staff and instructors are extremely nice - especially as my French is not that great. There are a mix of people in the classes which I enjoy as well. Everyone has been nice and polite - there no are cliques here. I've taken classes in English & French and enjoyed both though I don't understand everything in French. If you enjoy yoga you should take classes here. I hope I can find a Bikram studio this great when I'm back in NYC.

I was staying in Le Marais during my trip in Paris, and I wanted to check out multiple yoga studios…read morein the area. I found Modo Yoga Paris by Google searching local spots. They had a great drop-in deal of 19 Euros for the first class. Mat, mat towel, and shower towel were included for the first class as well. The yoga instructor was very nice and friendly. When she checked me in she asked me what language I preferred, and she spoke English to me while she got me acquainted to the space. Mod Yoga was a lot bigger than I thought. It had a few rooms - I think I saw a total of 4 rooms - for practicing yoga and perhaps other fitness oriented styles like pilates. The locker room was big. I would even say probably the biggest one I've seen, and the first I've seen that included showers. I took a vinyasa class at 9:30am. The room was heated, and the class was full. The teacher taught the entirety of the class in French, which was totally fine since I understand French a little and was able to follow along easily by listening to Sanskrit and watching her demo. I had a very wonderful experience, and I would certainly come back to this studio next time I'm in the area.

Ever since I took my first class with Modo Yoga I knew it was the right place for me. When Modo Yoga came to Paris, I can't even begin to explain how excited I was! This was my chance to get back into my practice, and pick up where I left off after leaving Canada 6 years ago. Doing yoga in a hot room is definitely a bit different if you're used to practicing at normal ambient temperatures, but I truly believe it has so many benefits. These are the reasons why I love practicing in the hot room: 1. Improved Flexibility. The heat warms up your muscles, allowing you to have better range of motion/flexibility, ultimately allowing you to move at a quicker pace to more advanced postures 2. Breathing. The heat actually challenges your breathing, making it more audible and more importantly, making you more aware of it. 3. Mindfulness and acceptance. You learn to accept yourself, when you're drenched in sweat, when you have a tough time doing a posture as well as your neighbour. You become mindful of your thoughts and your body's limitations, the drama of the ego - accept and let it go. 4. Meditation and relaxation. The more I practice, the more my body takes control and my mind is freed. And the these are the reasons why I love Modo Yoga Paris! 1. Exceptional, inspiring teachers and staff! They always make me feel so at home, exude so much positivity and even after such a short time since they opened I have this feeling of knowing some of the staff for a very long time :) 2. Feeling part of a special community. It's like Modo Yoga has a filter at the front door, only positive energy and lovely people seem to walk through! 3. The ethos of Modo Yoga and how they truly embody their 7 pillars. Thanks for making my days all that much brighter!

This studio tends to have a stronger focus on both alignment and spirituality than others in Paris, which I really appreciate, because too often yoga is turned into just a physical practice. Here, you can expect the whole package and benefit from the bhakti tradition. Favorite studio in Paris for sure!

If you like getting barked at by a middle aged man for an hour and a half on how to place your…read moretowel (no wiping, it needs to be laid flat to protect the mat they just forced you to rent - nevermind the fact it's falling apart), when to drink your water (unacceptable during a pose), when to open your mouth (never) and how to shavasana (how dare you stretch), you'll feel right at home. I've done a YTT and practiced multiple different yogas in multiple countries and this takes the cake for most unpleasant and least yogic experience. Also be warned you'll get hosed on towel and mat rental if you don't byo. I emailed to get a refund on my 'offre decouverte' and just pay for a class instead and they never got back to me, so here I am complaining because this was just awful.

They do one class in English daily and the rest are in French. I didn't notice any smell and there are a lot of showers! Every single person that I have dealt with has been incredibly helpful and friendly. I'm tempted to take off a star because of the price, but oh well, I guess Bikram is expensive everywhere. If you're new to Bikram Yoga, stick with it - I promise you will fall in love with how it makes you feel, physically and mentally!! The Pros: *The studio is clean, big, and pretty *The equipment is A+ (Balanced Body) *They offer a few classes in English *If you are new, your first class is 30 euros and you get your second one for free. The Cons: *Classes fill up fast! Especially the English only classes. *The one class I took in French, I figured the instructor might help with a little English. WRONG. Even as an instructor, I was lost. I know about three words. I kept my eyes on everyone else. *The Reformer Flow class was too easy and not sequenced properly. I made it harder by adjusting the springs. I wasn't expecting too hard since it was an all levels class but it was too slow and easy. The odd thing about this studio is that there was something eerily similar to another studio where I has been. It took me about 20 minutes to ask why it looked exactly like "New York Pilates". Like...almost identical. Down to the merch they sell and the vocabulary on their website. Very Odd. I would still return on my next visit for classes.

Quiet studio tucked off the busy streets of Paris was just what I was looking for. There was a variety of classes and folks of all ages and levels. The instructor spoke multiple languages during class (French, Italian and English) which made it easier to follow for all. I appreciated my instructor's knowledge to help correct some of my poses. And to end the class in shavasana staring out a skylight into the sky was moving to me.

I found My Golden Hour via Google search, which was a convenient 6-minute walk from my hotel. I saw that My Golden Hour offered different styles of yoga including aerial and power. I booked the Hot Rythme Power Yoga class on Friday at 9:30am through the Mind Body App. My Golden Hour was such a cute, boutique studio. I met Jeremy, the instructor, and the front desk receptionist when I entered the space, and they both welcomed and helped me with check-in. The Hot Rhythme Power Yoga class was incredible! It was so energetic and dynamic. I've taken many power vinyasa classes (I even teach them back at home), and it was nothing like I've ever experienced. It not only had strong power moves, core work, and strength building, but it had a fun dance flow that I absolutely loved. Jeremy was also an amazing teacher. I was highly impressed that he was tri-lingual as he spoke to me in English, another student in Spanish, and of course spoke French the majority of the class. Even though I could understand French a bit, I was able to follow along easily.
