TLDR- it's fantastic…read more This is a long review... I have been to many therapists for trauma work but no practice has helped me the way Therapy for Women has. I broke up all the reasons I think Therapy for Women is amazing below. The values: This practice is based on mutual trust. You're therapist will happily share bits of their own life experiences. This always makes me feel less alone in what I am experiencing. Additionally, the open conversations make sessions comfortable/feel less like a doctors appointment. Therapy for Women also makes a point to let you know that you can switch therapists at anytime. Besides therapy won't be effective if you aren't comfortable with who you are talking too. In the office: The atmosphere is calming and quiet. Therapists have white noise machines at their door so your conversations will never be heard by someone passing by. If you are finding it hard to share something most therapists have art supplies, cards, fidget toys or board games that you are able to play during the session. The sessions are flexible and can be tailored to what you need. This is especially great for people like me with ADHD. The online portal: This might not be something many people think is important but the online portal is so simple. The rules, expectations, and prices for the practice are shared openly once you become a client so there is transparency. If you are ever confused about something or wondering about your last bill it is easy to look up past records and chat with your therapist directly. Price: Therapy for Women does not accept insurance (this is my understanding/ I'm not sure if there are specific exceptions). Sessions are relatively expensive since insurance doesn't cover the cost. However, Jen is a therapist I could stick with for years and I feel it is completely worth the extra cost. Over all: I really think this practice is something special and I am SO happy I found it when I did.

I was able to understand myself better, and approach challenging situations with more clarity. The exercises Omar suggested to me (both during the session and some I was assigned to do independently at home) were instrumental in the success of the sessions. I felt very comfortable working with Omar and am thankful for the great experiences I've had. I would recommend him and Hill Counseling!

When I politely asked about getting a simple medication refill, I was spoken to rudely by a staff member (the head boss lady with glasses) and told that the psychiatrists were unavailable. However, I could clearly hear and see staff and psychiatrists in the lunchroom eating and laughing while I was left waiting with no communication or concern. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and urgency was honestly shocking, especially for a mental health facility where patients rely on timely care and medication access. Patients should not feel ignored or dismissed when seeking help. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and completely let down by the level of care and customer service provided. That was my experience

If you need help learning a language, you would look for a language teacher (which by the way, Olga has taught Spanish), or if you need help with your taxes, you would ask an accountant, or if you need to improve your tennis game, you would get a tennis coach. Similarly, she is there as a life coach to help you improve any area of your life (relationships, career, health, etc.) Why reinvent the wheel? She's done most of the research for you already. Olga will also be very frank, and tell you what you may not want to hear, but need to hear. That is what will get you out of your comfort zone, so that you can take actions to make the positive change you desire. She is instinctive, compassionate, and genuinely interested in helping people reach their potential.

Let me start by saying that the gentlemen that handle the donations are really great and have…read morealways been friendly towards me. But don't expect a smile from any of the female cashiers. I'm usually met with silence when I say "hi how are you" or "have a nice day". I come often and I've noticed that they're nice to certain people and rude to others. Twice now, as I'm in the process of checking out they've told me that the price that's stapled to the item I have is wrong. For example, at my most recent visit I was in the process of paying and the cashier tells me my $8.99 jacket should've been marked at $24.99. Instead of honoring that price like every other Goodwill they'll raise the price significantly on me. They'll make you feel bad for a mistake they made like you should've known better. Maybe just price it right before taking it out to the floor?

This is the largest Salvation Army store and donation center within the Philly proper, and since its within three blocks of my girlfriend's house, I randomly find myself within here a lot so I can boost my thrifty pants style. Since its within the Roxborough/Manayunk area you do tend to find a lot of good products at bargain prices. I've scored everything from vintage Calvin Klein jeans and collegiate pajamas to American Eagle sweaters and Star Wars merch all between $3-12. With the frequency that they get and restock inventory, it definitely gives you good reason to visit regularly, and you run into a ton of colorful regulars who do just that.
