They not only completed our remodel they built the custom cherry fireplace mantle. We love our living room and it's exactly what we were looking for to update our home. They've also repaired our garage door and surround when our son drove the family van into the garage frame. Joseph and his crew are easy to work with, clean thoroughly and are professional in their behavior.

He didn't show up for the initial appt., and rescheduled for the following week- even then he was an hour late. We discussed the repairs and he said he would email an estimate. After hearing nothing for weeks, I reached out to him and he said he would have it by the end of the week. The following week, I reached out again and finally received an estimate. From there on, I would hear NOTHING from him unless I initiated contact. Then the excuses started.. I dealt with this man for three and a half months, with him ghosting me the entire time. At no time did he ever fulfill a promise, or meet a deadline. The last straw was him AGAIN failing to provide information on the repair. That was Feb. 25, and, you guessed it, CRICKETS! I have to wonder what part of "Do It Right" applies to his business.

He was very helpful in telling me exactly what items I needed to prepare, and explained how we were going to do the job, since I was involved. The 1910 piano arrived in great condition at the storage space I rented. Will was very nice, highly experienced, a fascinating person with some wild stories. I would definitely use his services again!

I recently hired Marathon Movers and Construction, managed by Williams Stewart, for a home…read moreimprovement project, and my experience was profoundly disappointing. I regret to report that Mr. Stewart demonstrated a startling lack of skill and competence throughout the duration of the project. From the outset, Mr. Stewart exhibited a worrying level of incompetence. When I confronted him about the mistakes, he apologized to me about his quality of work. Here are the specific issues I encountered: Incorrect Paint Application: Mr. Stewart used the wrong type of paint in several areas, which required extensive correction. Drywall Errors: He applied an excessive amount of drywall mud, resulting in significant cracking. This not only compromised the finish but also necessitated additional repairs. Unnecessary and Unfinished Work: Mr. Stewart filled holes in walls that I had not asked him to address and then failed to paint over these areas, leaving them in an unsightly state. Lack of Preparation: He neglected to tape off areas before painting, leading to paint splatters on surfaces that were not intended to be painted. Additionally, he spilled stains on the wooden stairs outside my house and did not tell me about it. This lack of attention to detail caused more unnecessary work. Inability to Use Basic Tools: Shockingly, Mr. Stewart struggled with using a circular saw properly. His incompetence extended to cutting the carpet too short, forcing me to order a specialty bull nose to cover the exposed edge. He also cut the trim and the tongue-and-groove boards poorly and left major errors that all had to be replaced. You can see in the pictures attached that he tried to cut a piece of trim in half in order to trim a pocket door where it closes. He cut the trim with a circular saw, clearly did not know what he was doing, and cut the pieces in two different sizes. General Incompetence: Throughout the project, Mr. Stewart displayed a troubling lack of basic construction skills, resulting in numerous mistakes and substandard results. Additionally, he unplugged the cord to my deep freezer, causing me to lose about 50 lbs of deer meat in the freezer. Missed Deadlines: Mr. Stewart worked so slowly that he blew the deadline we set, resulting in significant losses not only in money and materials but also in precious time. The delay was entirely avoidable and added to the overall frustration and dissatisfaction with his service. In hindsight, I should have been better at inspecting his work, but I did not feel I should have to babysit an experienced contractor. In summary, my experience with Marathon Movers and Construction was extremely unsatisfactory. Mr. Stewart's dishonesty, lack of skill, and numerous errors made the entire process far more stressful and costly than it should have been. I cannot in good conscience recommend Marathon Movers and Construction to anyone seeking professional and competent home improvement services.
