As experienced DIY-ers, we have usually have had no reservations about taking on big home improvement projects, such as room additions and kitchen renovations, until now. We recently bought our home knowing that it would need to be completely re-sided. After some research and planning, we realized that re-siding the house ourselves was a bit much to take on and still get done in a timely manner and get done in time for winter. We also have pretty high standards for workmanship. We got several bids and were pretty discouraged about the high prices and the inconsistencies between contractors' stories. He's flexible as well; we worked out a great deal where we did the demolition and took care of the materials logistics while Ron concentrated on getting the siding done with the workmanship we wanted. Just wanted to again tell you what a wonderful job you did on the bathroom reno in my home! You continued to hang-in-there through all the surprises we found behind the walls, and you always looked for ways to save me money. One thing I really respect about a workman is when he knows it is time to call in a specialist...and when we had a problem with the tub drain and the wall-mount toilet (surprise!), you suggested we do just that. I appreciated that you opened the floor in the bathroom AND my office before the plumber came to save him time and me money! I appreciated your repurposing my large 4' x 5' mirror into a 3' x 4' mirror, which you beautifully framed, and mounted on the opposite wall from the sink to really open up the space. The tile backsplash and the flooring really came out beautifully. Your signature tongue-in-groove white-washed ceiling with small pot lights on dimmers, really helps create a spa atmosphere...love that! And I cannot say enough about your clean-up!! Spotless. We cannot recommend Ron enough. He remodeled our two (and one half) bathrooms, and we love the result. He gave us a reasonable quote and was conscientious about sticking to it. The guys he brought in (for plumbing, tiling etc) were excellent and--like everyone Ron works with--genuinely pleasant and thoughtful. Beyond his evident craftsmanship, we also valued Ron for his aesthetic knowledge and instinct. This was very important as our bathrooms were especially challenging in size and architectural design. Factoring in our spending limits, practical needs, and tastes, he consistently came up with great suggestions which we were pleased to follow. My husband and I remodeled our first home on our own, with limited budget. We were looking for a contractor who could do some select and advanced tasks that we were not qualified to do on our own. Ron just finished remodeling the bathroom in my late 1970s contemporary. It had suffered the ravages of time, odd additions, and some less than quality DIY from previous owners. I had some idea of what I wanted, and Ron listened carefully to that. He then gave me some much better design ideas based on what I told him and presented options. Over the years raising four kids and having pets has taken it's toll on my poor house. There were battle wounds every where! Holes in the drywall, holes and cracks in the doors, wear and tear on the door frames,and other small maintenance repairs that were reminders of how hard we were on this house. The Finisher has done it again, our back yard is an oasis. Ron extended our deck over a large water feature so we have an unobstructed view of our water fall. First, He redesigned the contours of the deck. He then built it so solid and integral that any concerns I had about it cantilevering over the water were quickly dispelled.
