    Fruit cart across
    Jessie Z.

Quite a lovely park for kids. They have a variety of play structures for little kids to older ones. Individual structures and group play ones with the bouncy sort of ground. The grass is a bit muddy and benches can be a bit dirty ( plenty of benches for picnics tho, dont remember barbecues, 3 lots all free). There is also a fruit cart that takes venmo $8,10, 12 for a cup. But would be a fun place for a kid to try different things

This is a great park that we enjoyed visiting. It is an inspirational park that has an emotional story behind it. My kids loved playing on the playground and we liked walking around the park trails and they had horses we could pet as well. Very nice fun spot that I highly recommend

Love everything about this park. They have such cute learning pieces to it, braille, sign language, open swings so everyone can play and participate. Right in Griffith Park, it's easy to get to, plenty of parking, picnic benches, and bathrooms. Such an amazing park. We went in the middle of the workday so it was pretty empty. I'm sure it gets busy during the weekend. Definitely a place to have your kids come and enjoy.

This Shane's Inspiration park is situated in the heart of Griffith Park, just 5 minutes away from the LA Zoo and steps away from the Iconic Disney merry-go-round. This playground is space ship and water-themed. This park is fun for all children of any age and abilities. This accessible playground also has lots of open grass for playing and picnicking, the equipment is always clean and well kept. This park includes sand pits, fun bridges, sensory equipment, small and tall slides, fun climbing walls, musical instruments in the toddle area, fun swings and spinning rides. There are many parking lots, all free. Bathrooms are located close by in and around the park. Bigger children can play in a fun basketball court with hoops of different heights, some low and some high. Don't forget about the zip line swings. Such a fun experience, our daughter loves these! Benches surround the park to watch your little ones, there is also a fun multi-color bench that is great for photos, it is located in the toddlers play area. The most busiest days are on the weekend. Some weekends have vendors, birthday parties and bounce houses, and the park can be very full. Weekdays would be the best to beat the crowds. This park does have great shaded areas above some of the equipment. Also, the park has accessibility ramps for those in need of ramps. The iconic Disney merry-go-round at the top of the hill is also a must do, when visiting. The surrounding area is Dog and pet friendly on the grass and trails but unfortunately not inside the park or sand.

Beware this vendor. She cheats you. She told me $3 for a bubble wand. I called my daughter over and gave the wand to her, then gave this vendor a $5. She kept it and said the price was $5 knowing the child used the wand. I told her she said $3 and she claimed she never said that. We were speaking English and I speak Spanish so there was no misunderstanding. Very dishonest vendor.

This is one of the best playgrounds in LA. 2 ziplines. One with a swing, one with a little platform for older kids. Sand with a few built in sand tools. The good sand too. Not the super dusty one. The boat that rocks, 2 types of merry go round, a seesaw. Regular swings and one of those swings that have a board so a few people can swing at once. Different sized basketball hoops. I believe this park is handicap accessible for children. Its large and in Griffith Park so there's so much green space. The bathrooms leave much to be desired but it's not super stinky and they have had soap each time I've gone.

This is a wonderful children's part, I think established about 20 years ago in the late 1990's. This place is spacious, the only knock on it is that, on a hot sunny day, there's no tree shade or shading, nor a splash pad (that would be my recommendation here!) to cool down and avoid the heat. But if you come when it's not sunny or hot, it's paradise! The play area is good for toddlers and young kids. I'd rank this among the best Play areas I've been to. This is a role model design for all other park and rec's to gain influence and ideas from.

Hidden gem! We went out there for a fun event. Good Humor has designed an interactive vending machine featuring photo booths to surprise and delight fans with fun selfie filters, free Good Humor ice cream treats and the chance to win awesome prizes, including tickets to local concerts, Six Flags, Legoland, Madame Tussauds; Mattel toys; and flash tattoos! Free parking. And no crowd at all, that was maybe not surprising since the temps were climbing. After we all got our selfies and ice creams, and the little one played a bit on the playground, we did a mini walk up and around the old zoo and Shakespeare stage area. Winded our way back down the road to the parking lot. All in all, it was fun family times and the lure of Good Humor ice creams worked :-)

Top playground! Lots of kids (even in pandemic) most are wearing masks today (I'd estimate 90%). To many things to list so I'll just stick to the unique items today: Merry go round, zip lines, kooky basketball nets (for all ages), giant sandbox, driving area for tricycles, and all the usual stuff. (Sway house, slides, swings, etc). Two little kids areas and two big kid areas.

Went in the morning and it was busy, but when we went to the playground, there was enough room for my child. We didnt have to wait for the swings or slides. We loce coming to this playground when we come to LA. The weather was beautiful. Lots of parking.

I absolutely love this park. I try to take my lil one when it's early in the day. That way there are a lot fewer big kids running all over. There are always different vendors here. They are selling snacks, drinks, fruit, etc. Most of the time I've seen kids being supervised by their parents, at least a little bit. I love that the playground structures are accessible for kids both on and not in wheelchairs. I love that they even have a zip line for the big kids. I love their adaptive swings and all those fun pieces of equipment that you don't usually see at other city parks. I think this park is such a hidden gem. There are restrooms near by and plenty of parking. Parking is free. The restrooms are fairly clean. As a reminder, you are in Griffith Park. There is wildlife out there. The last time that I was in the park, as we went from the adjacent parking lot to the park playground we saw and heard coyotes. There were a few of them. They didn't approach us but they seemed to want to make it known to us that they were there and fairly near by. That's another reason to closely watch your little ones. Anyway, the park is pretty big and has more than enough equipment for everyone to enjoy. I think that's another reason that it seems to be a lot less crowded than other parks. This one has so much equipment that the kids can really spread out and there isn't any crowding. I think one thing that would be really awesome would be a summer time splash pad but with the drought that CA usually suffers from, I get it. Talking to other parents at the park, they either love it or hate it here. Some hate that the playground is so spread out. They say that it's too big and it's tough to always keep an eye on their kiddo. Umm, I think that if you didn't just sit down on a bench some place and you actually kinda shadow your kiddo as they are on the equipment, it would be a lot easier to keep track of your little one. Hmm. Some parents loved that the park has so many different pieces of equipment and that they suit kids with all different levels of ability. I'm with them on that. My lil one hasn't been able to "conquer" each of the more challenging climbing apparatuses but she is getting there. I love that it's a lil challenging for her. She hasn't given up yet. So that's even better. Another reason that you might want to watch your kiddos is to be sure that they are playing in a way that is safe for everyone. For example, I have sent kids back to their parents with complaints that I was being mean to them. Oh well! Most of the time I tell kids not to push one another, not to touch one another at all, and to only go DOWN the slide, not climb up it or push anyone down the slide. Some of the older kids that "play"here sit on swings or on other pieces of equipment in their little mean girls groups and they just sit and talk trash about other kids at the park. Those are the ones that you wanna keep your little ones away from. Sometimes they say some really mean things to other kids or about other kids that could potentially be really mean and hurtful. Some of the girls that come here after school are regulars. They don't seem to have their parents with them or anything. They are actually too old to be here but they have no place else to go. So, lots of times they sit around talking trash, smoking weed, etc. So, my advice, if you re bringing your lil one out here. . . ACTIVELY watch your little ones. Don't just sit on your rump and complain about how you can't see them. That way, also, if you find that your kiddo and another kiddo aren't getting along, you can remove them from that space and go and do something else. I've had to do it a number of times and I tell myself how glad I was to have been there so that nothing horrible happened. (A lil kiddo almost pushed my daughter off the swirly slide because they were climbing up and she was trying to go down. The other kiddo pulled her by her shirt and tried to pull her off the slide which would have resulted in more than a 5ft drop onto the ground. So, you've always gotta be vigilant!) Bottom line, this is a great park for kids of any ability but please also be active in watching how your children play.

Kids "streets". Bring your trike, big wheel, scooter and ride the toddler highway.

I've been to this park multiple times. The great thing about this park is that its universally accessible for all ages, abilities and disabilities. Upon first look it appears to be this amazing park with multiple structures for all different age groups and levels of abilities. Which it does. But for parents of young ones who still need to be watched, it's really difficult for the parent to allow their children to run and be free without freaking out that they get lost or worse yet, snatched up by a pedophile. If you are a parent or caregiver of a child with physical disabilities, I think this would be a great park. All structures are wheelchair accessible. There are tons of hand eye coordination fixtures throughout. There is a sandbox with a sand crane. Swings that lay back, toddler seats and regular swings. They are not all in the same place. So that can be good for some and not for others. There are a few slides in each section of level of difficulty. There is also a cement pad that is painted like a street complete with stop signs that kids can ride trikes, small bikes, scooters like little drivers. Just up the hill is the Griffith Park Merry Go Round that you could walk to, but with little ones may be easier to take the short drive. Parking is pretty abundant. There's a parking lot across the street, one to the east and another to the west. The one across the street is the closest I feel. There's individual bathroom stalls lined in a row. ( not a bathroom to send kids into) which I appreciate as a parent. There are benches throughout the playground and drinking fountains. I appreciate all that has gone into this park and think it's a great option for kids with disabilities.. Or for kids who are old enough to not run off. It's even great for babies that are not really mobile yet. But for the curious and active toddler I'm gonna say.... Pass.

There's a big play structure for the kids aged 5 and up, and a smaller play area for under 5. My 4 year old loved playing in the big structure and going down the big blue tube slide. Some children may be hesitant going down the slide, and if so, you'd have to climb all the way down as there's not alternative slide. It could get a bit crowded if there's too many kids in the structure, so parents be forewarned and keep your eyes on your children if they need help while in the structure. There's a good handful of swings, ranging from regular swings to double swings to a round swing where 5 kids can go at the same time! Super fun! The grounds are also all rubber and no sand, which was a bit of a bummer as my child likes to play in the sand. There also a large basketball court next to the playground, and the recreational center next to the courts. We went on a Sunday and the center was closed, so unfortunately we couldn't access the bathrooms. Lots of street parking, but it can probably fill up fast during the popular months.

Need a respite from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown??…read more This is a great pocket park right behind the Los Angeles Public Library in Chinatown. The park is sandwiched between the Library and the surrounding apartments. It opened in July of 2021. I think it suits this area nicely! Ord St & Yale St change street names at the "L" curve in the road. Street parking is kind of scarce. There are meters in front of the library or you can attempt to find other street parking of which I'm not sure if they were metered or not. The first thing I noticed was the long set of stairs going up the hill because they were colorful and had a design on them (Chevron pointing upward). There are quotes on the landings between the steps and the steps have letters on them spelling out: Believe, Commit, Achieve, Release. The staircase is called Heavenly Stairs. There are a total of 147 steps. When you reach the top, there is a "Congratulations" sticker on the landing! The main entrance is called the Moongate Entry. Only steps lead up to the gate. You can use the ramp to enter a side gate into the park. Head toward the stairs, the gate is just before the stairs begin. This park has three tiers. The entry level is called the Lotus Plaza and has a succulent garden with a small waterfall, succulents, and an amphitheater where you can gather in groups. Then you can walk up the Dragon Walk (ramp) to get to the second level. Here is where you can enjoy the play areas, some exercise equipment, restrooms, and picnic area. It's a great place for young and old to hang out. There's a Bamboo Garden which is really small right now, but it won't take long for them to fill in! The uppermost level is the Heavenly Garden. There are a few pieces of exercise equipment and a lantern tower. You can exit the gate here to walk on the steps. If you go up, you will hit Hill Pl. If you go down, you will end up at Ord/Yale Street. This is not a grassy type of park. In fact, all the living greenery is where you cannot walk. There are trees, succulents and bamboo. The playground has a green covering, but that's not grass. It would be nice to have some grass to either walk on or sit on if you wanted to read a book or have a picnic. Other than for the lack of grass, I love this park! I wished there was one like this near me! I definitely recommend coming here to add some Zen or exercise to your day!!

They put a lot of thought into the energy they want to bring to local residents and visitors like me! It was very clean and had a table, water fountain and exercise equipments. I know the playground is designed for 5-12 year olds but I had fun on the rock climbing wall :) I would definitely come back here again!

I think the park itself is very pretty but some of the patrons there look a little bit seedy. So, like many places in LA, it's nice but less nice because of the homeless and trash hanging out. We found free parking along the streets outside of the park. The park's very big and semi-hilly. I liked that the playground was enclosed so kids could play more freely without you fearing they'll run into the lake. I saw lots of people feed the ducks but wasn't sure if this was allowed. The bad: There was profane graffiti on the wall by the playground. Someone painted the turtle statue's eyes red and it looks like it's bleeding. My toddler was concerned. The interesting: There was an ice cream truck here that was massive and served soft-serve ice cream. It was great!

Park is okay. There's a playground for kids ( dont really recommended it for toddlers in my…read moreopinion). There are trees and benches for picnics. There's a walking path along the pond. The bathrooms are okay, very dim and sometimes unhygienic. It did make me nervous the first time I used it but I like that the locks work. No area to change toddlers, again not a toddler/family friendly area ( changing tables/ family restrooms like the parks in Northern California). Park parking lot closes around 4:30-5 pm so it's suggested to park on the street if you're going to do evening walks/runs. Tons of people walking/exercising, saw some folks fishing ( not sure it's edible but maybe just for fun), napping and having picnics under trees. There are ducks so the grass area contains poop the closer you are to the pond. Small bit of littering and trash on the ground. Lots of hills/slopes and some stairs. There is a workout area with equipment. Homeless encampment near playground area. Street vendors with fruit, water, elotes, etc.
