5 Huge, Enormous Stars!!…read more I just moved here from Virginia & have been slowly finding things for my own needs - dog groomers, doctors, places to eat & get gas... Today it was my turn to get a hair cut & color. Yelp to the rescue! The name of this place was attractive to me, because I am a circus buff (and author of a circus book). So I looked at the reviews and all the fabulous pictures of hair here on Yelp, and took a chance. I called & made an appointment. I think it was with Lydia over the phone, and I went in today, for my appointment. We chatted. I like to give the basics about my hair & broad goals and tell my lady to just have fun. I told her about my trichtotillomania. I told her about my own color jobs - my roots were showing. The previous job was showing, and the very light ends were most of my head. The trichtotillomania had grown out in places on the top of my head and needed to be blended in so they would hide. I have previously had a wonderful hair dresser cut my hair very short (which I am okay with) to hide the ends I have pulled out. I am with a new partner who likes me to have long hair, so Lydia decided on a multi-layer haircut. And I told her I like ash blonde and pink and lavender / light purple. She went with darker roots to match my own roots "so it will grow out nicely" and she added pink and purple to the tips. There were 4 colors going on my head to make this happen!! 1 color for the roots, pink, light purple, and ash blonde for the ends of my hair. She did such a phenomenal job!! Worth every penny. I will definitely be going back and asking for Lydia the Tattooed Lady at The Bearded Lady Salon in Wichita. PS: There is also a super sweet dog here named Gretel. Gretel and I had a nice moment where I was petting her and she stayed with me so long as I was petting her. What a love bug she is.

And here's my wife's impressions: I had the best haircut experience of my life (no hyperbole) with Graham. He spent at least 20 min talking to me and making sure he understood what I wanted and how I work with my hair every day, because I was so nervous after getting bad haircut after bad haircut elsewhere (okay, not bad just nothing like I wanted). After he started cutting, he seemed like he was really enjoying working with my hair and in general made me feel like a million bucks. My hair turned out amazing, even better than I had hoped. I'm moving to Denver soon but I'll be back to get my hair cut by this genius of a man.

There was a fire this summer and now they are in Bradley Fair. For many years I purchased their services and products and I had joined a program where I received money back to apply towards services. A few weeks ago I tried to use these funds towards my service as I had accumulated several hundred dollars. I was told records of these funds were lost in the fire so I was sol but I could join the new program for $20. I realize its only $20 ,but since they lost several hundred dollars it seems unreasonable to ask me to pay $20 for the NEW program. I stated this but no one really cared. On a positive note, facial and nail staff are excellent ! Unfortunately quite a few staff members have gone to other spas.
