Pretty new, modern Chinese place atop the Hilton on Park Lane, on the 28th floor, with lovely views of London.
I live in San Francisco so I'm used to good Chinese food and I have to say I was impressed by this place. Despite some confusion on the reservation (I used Sevenrooms to book Shangahi Me but ended up with a table in the adjacent cocktail lounge Bund), they found us a table in the main dining room with a nice view. The chairs are a bit tight for big Americans and like many many rooftop places, the tables are pretty close to each other.
The service was excellent as was the food. The hot and our soup: very good. The dim sum was surprisingly good. I should have ordered more. And the beef with pepper sauce was very good but could have been a bit spicier for my taste. The coconut flan for dessert was borderline too large (it was an enormous slice) and came with some nice ice cream.
Overall, excellent. read more
