We were very hopeful. Unfortunately, the experience was pretty much a nightmare. I was not allowed to stay with my child during the procedure, even after they repeatedly asked for me. When nitrous was administered, they began crying hard and having trouble breathing. They clearly stated they did not want to continue and wanted to leave. Despite that, multiple staff physically restrained them and told them things like: * "This is going to happen either way." * "You're too old to be acting this way." When I was finally brought back, I found my child still being held down, crying. A staff member whispered to them that if they didn't stop crying, I would be asked to leave again. My child fled the room in tears once they were able to get up. The dentist then told me that they would no longer treat my child, and said that no one in the area would. This was not an emergency procedure. Consent was withdrawn and ignored. I have never seen a healthcare setting handle anxiety this way, especially one claiming to specialize in it. This experience left my child feeling traumatized and afraid to seek dental care again. I hope sharing this helps other parents make informed decisions.

A few months ago, I cracked a tooth while dining at a restaurant late on a Friday. I called the doc's emergency number because I was flying out of town on Sunday. He told me to come in Saturday morning (they are closed on Saturday) and he would check me out. He did and made a temporary fix to my tooth which took the pain away. I went out of town, had no problems and he immediately got me back in to finish the job when I got back in town. BTW: When I went in for my Saturday visit and I asked if I needed to pay him, he said, "Let's get you fixed and we can worry about that later. I think your insurance will cover it. Don't worry." Wow...now that's patient care! It all ended well and I will never forget his concern for me. So, if you need a dentist and want to be in good hands, check out Doctor Dave Goodman. But I brought my daughter in for a routine monthly adjustment, when my 12 year old child was called back while I ran out to check on my 11 year old n the car and grab my phone. When I came in and seen she was gone from the lobby I went ahead back to find a nurse with my daughter pulled into a small private room. When I seen her I entered the room, where a secretary I'm assuming. I honestly don't know what she was. But she informed me my daughter had head lice and wouldn't be seen in their office until she had been treated. And asked if I would like to see even after a full explanation how my little girl had dandruff and that I had just purchased a 30 dollar bottle of shampoo for it and had only done 1 treatment so far. And also that she did have a friend spend the night a few weeks prior that we did find out had head lice. But that I had already treated my children and whole entire house. And had also treated every single thing in my whole entire house that I didn't just throw away, and spent almost 250.00 doing so. And if my daughter and I weren't humiliated enough, and my child to tears. This woman still had the nerve to continue to tell me how to treat and comb nits for days and even weeks, as if I was some uneducated, neglectful, dirty mother that hadn't already explained in length, even tho I really wanted to just honestly punch her in the face. So after quietly getting up and leaving with my traumatized child in tears, that has been in therepy for severe anxiety, and sensory issues among other things. And immediately call the office while my child was in the car to discuss it with a supervisor only to find out after going through the full explanation that I was speaking to the same woman so at that point I asked for them to get my child's medical records together as well as a refund for the money that we paid that office up front and she later informed me that there was no money owed to me even though my child still has her braces on that have not been adjusted and over two and a half months that are now cutting into her lips I wish I could remember the girl's name but I am definitely seeking legal advice and I'm fully prepared to sue them

I won't name the place I visited, but I can say that I wish I would've used McDermott instead. They've been incredible with my daughter, and my other daughter just had an appointment. They are clear concise, and answer any questions you can thinks of. This place also has great payment options and reasonable pricing. The quality of care is absolutely amazing. My daughter has had multiple incidents where she's had rubber bands break and they get her fixed same day, or day after. I really couldn't ask for a better experience that McDermott.
