I originally signed up for 6 months and I've been there now for over a year and will continue on for another 5 months. I only keep going because of them, I'm in much better shape than when I started and feel so much more healthy than I have in many years.

Coach Grofik's infectious energy and unwavering support made me feel like an integral part of the team from the get-go. The camaraderie among participants and the motivating atmosphere made the first class an absolute blast. However, my second class, led by Coach Alexis Kessler, left me with a less-than-stellar impression. The challenging nature of the workout was not the issue; rather, it was the lack of inclusivity and personalized attention that made the experience disappointing. Unlike my first encounter, Kessler seemed to overlook my presence entirely. Despite working the room, I felt purposefully ignored, and the absence of any pointers left me grappling with the exercises without guidance. What was especially disheartening was the feeling that the color of my skin may have played a role in the disparity of attention. I understand that individual experiences with instructors can vary, but feeling unwelcomed in a fitness class is disconcerting. It's crucial to note that my critique is directed solely at the specific class led by Kessler and not at the overall facility. The RockBox Fitness facility itself maintains a positive atmosphere, and my initial encounter with Coach Grofik was proof of the supportive community they aim to foster. In conclusion, while my first class was an absolute delight, my second class experience fell short of expectations due to a lack of inclusivity. I hope this feedback contributes to the ongoing commitment to creating an environment where every participant feels welcomed and supported, regardless of their background.
