I am not good when it comes to any kind of insurance and my recent insurance sent me a letter saying I have non-renewal. I asked a neighbor who they use and I know her husband looks into things real well. She gave me the phone number to Shapiro Insurance Group and Elizabeth Brown from the company answered the phone. I told her who I was and my situation and she told me she would be so happy to help me. Because I was so happy with her help I asked her if she could help me with automobile insurance and that is what she is working on right now. These people had me overpay $3000 on my own insurance last year. I haven't had dropped them as my agents there a policy mill. Don't trust them definitely go somewhere else read more

Insurance in Florida has become staggering, especially for the retired living on a fixed income. I felt Melody Barrows worked diligently to try and save us some money on our homeowners insurance without cutting corners on liability exposures. I'm not happy with anyone's insurance rates be it auto, homeowners, etc. All the more reason I will continue to work through the Shapiro group for the best coverages at the best possible rates. I have been a client of Barton (Shapiro) Insurance for 13 years. 12 of them have been great. I have enjoyed working with Carolyn Jordan and Claudia Shearer over that time. June of 2024 I had a very bad experience with Jef. He would not insure my newly purchased vehicle and left me no choice but to insure with Del Toro Insurance in Naples. I have insurance with Progressive, the same insurers as I had with Shapiro. My house insurance is still with Shapiro ... but when it comes due ??? . My company used Shapiro for business insurance for ten years before being dropped from them. The reason being was that my company was to small for their requirements. For the ten years I needed little to nothing from them. Other than a renewing the coverage each year and a couple of new COIs each year I was a pretty quite client. The agent handling my home insurance is great but whenever I ask about car insurance they keep sending me to an agent John H.. who is useless ... his quotes were about 3x higher than anyone and when I asked him to investigate he never got back to me. This happened 2 years in a row with him before I stopped giving him another chance and went with another agency for car insurance read more

Friendly and courteous agents but seem to lack knowledge of available insurance companies and don't give candid advice which seems for fear of upsetting their insurers. I would expect more of "if I were you, I'd choose this insurer or this much or type of coverage because..." on behalf of the client. read more

Don't go with Shapiro Insurance. They are detached and they Don't care about you as a Human being.. The prices they quote are outrageous and if there is a Hike in your Insurance premium, you aren't notified. I'm mortified with how low the service has gone down hill with this company. My experience today sealed the deal. Bounced from one person to the next. They don't work in an office anymore so its remote so they are being rude and if you don't mind remote. They never return your calls. Back a little over a decade ago, the insurance agency I worked with was bought out by Shapiro Insurance. The quality has just gone straight down the toilet... What I loved about the insurance company that Shapiro bought out was they made it a point to contact you every year to go over your plan with you in detail and let you know if they recommended you re-shop your insurance plan based on price. They also were very prompt with returning your calls. If I called with a question and got a voicemail they would return my call typically before close of business that day or definitely within 24 hours. Shapiro insurance does NONE of this. I tried to get ahold of my agent Sarah S. for four days. Finally, I gave up and just called the main number. The lady who answered seemed rushed to get me off the phone and as soon as she heard I had been trying to contact Sarah S. she just immediately forwarded me to the same number I had been trying to call without even letting me finish my sentence. I called back and explained that I had not been able to get ahold of her for a long while and asked if she was on vacation. The lady on the other end said she was in the office and put me on hold for a few minutes, but I finally got through to Sarah S. When Sarah S. picked up the phone she let out an audible sigh and had an irritated tone. I interact with this company once or twice a year around the time my insurance policy is coming up for renewal and you're going to act that way? Unprofessional and rude? I don't know if they are overworked, but I'm done with Shapiro Insurance. I'm not dealing with the stress of trying to get ahold of someone who is supposed to help me protect my largest investment (my house) only to be greeted by unprofessionalism. A MUST READ: Please beware of this company. I've been a customer since 2018 and although I must say they are nice over the phone and reasonably responsive to request they have burned me badly. This company gets a one star because I truly do not believe they have helped me find the best home insurance quotes for the last two years. Yes, I could have shopped around. But this company ensured that based on my home details the premium I received are the BEST. Now I've received a premium from the company they have me connected with for over 7,000 dollars more In premium fees then I paid LAST YEAR. Which means my mortgage would increase by $1200 dollars. I called this group for an explanation and all they keep asking me is , " have you put a new roof on your home." No, I have not because my roof, per inspection has another 5+ years in it. They failed to REALLY find the most affordable and covering insurance for me. They have completely lost my trust. Now I'm working with another group that has been able to find me a more affordable and covering premium by a difference of $8500+ dollars. Smh read more

I was searching for some new business insurance. Not only were they helpful they really wanted to talk to me. The lady that assisted me Krista was nice, seemed to know her stuff. The best thing is that they really wanted to get me what I needed. I talked to many companies and most no all of them were busy to help or quote me. If I could review it with no stars, I would. There is no set pace, so to say. Everyone is all over the damn place with different info. One girl got hired, thrown into the mix with little training and fired for no reason at all. Poor thing. Very unprofessional. If you call and ask for Joel, they will purposely send you to the voicemail or someone else. And if you get his voicemail, he will then send it to someone else. Ive experienced it. I wanted to write a quick review as the average rating was pretty low. I have been in the insurance industry on the claim side for nearly 30 years, so I am a bit picky as to the service level from my agent(s). I have dealt with Paul Elia since mid-summer 2015 and have no complaints. Paul has always been responsive and professional. The challenge with Florida is that so much if the insurance market, particularly personal lines, is surplus lines. Until or unless we get some things fixed (like the AOB crisis as to homeowners, and the PIP and/or AOB issues as to auto) we will not see standard lines carriers willing to write much book in Florida. The lack of competition keeps rates and deductibles high. But with access to a broad array of carriers, Shapiro (like many other independent agents) will be one of your best best to get high quality and reliable insurance at the best possible price.
