My daughter went to Sharina's Daycare from 9 months of age to almost three years of age. Sharina and her family were very welcoming and took good care of her. She has gone through all stages from bottle feeding to spoon feeding with Sharina. She kept the daycare open during COVID which was a huge boon for us. Sanitation and space were well managed and there was no instance of COVID while my daughter was there. Sharina has been flexible with pick up timings when we were in a bind. I'm really grateful for her care towards my daughter. She and her family were also constantly trying to make the place better and more enriching for the kids. We have been caught by surprise sometimes with Sharina needing the day off for family emergencies but I also understand that this is to be expected with a family based daycare. All in all, I was able to trust that my kid was in good care with her, which becomes all the more important since it's not a high tech place with camera and automated notifications and such. My oldest started at six weeks and my youngest at three months. My oldest was with Sharina's day care for four years. She loved and still loves Sharina. My youngest hasn't seen Sharina for over six months, he's only two but still asks about her. For him to remember her at such a young age speaks volumes. Some reasons we had a positive experience: The daycare supports parents who work and we found them to be very accommodating. They supported us with potty training and were actually instrumental. Learning does take place, one day my daughter walked in knowing her days of the week. I was shocked I had been working on it unsuccessfully. Soon she knew her months of the year. Art work always littered our fridge. We've recommended numerous family and friends and will continue to do so. Trusting your child's care to someone else is a very difficult decision. This post is long overdue, we transferred from another daycare so she can be closer to us, the owner was so nice and accommodating that we really thought that our baby would love it here, the very first day we dropped her off, she immediately asked me how long she will be staying, which to me was a red flag already, after an hr or so she text me and tells me our baby keeps crying and keeps throwing up, I told her it'd probably because she's in a new environment and that she is not sick, she's with new people, something she should already know having had her business for a long time, after another hour she calls me and says I need pick up my dtr because she's out of clothes and threw up again, she said "she wants to be held but I can't because I have other kids" my dtr just turned 1 so still has some stranger anxiety, as soon as I picked my baby she was fine and smiling, she messaged me asking me if I was going to bring her, that was last time I'm bringing my baby to her daycare. I advise you not bring your child here at all unless they are perfectly accustomed to strangers and new environments. This was so traumatizing to us as parents and to my child. I don't like to talk badly about small businesses but I think people should know our experience so they know what they are getting into. read more

My daughter went to Sharina's daycare for about three years. In that time my daughter learned to socialize, spell her name, ABCs, and counting to 20. At 3 years old. They provided her with excellent care and structure. By the time my daughter entered kindergarten this past July, her teachers commented that she was above average, which I know Sharina was a big part of. Sharina was always very reasonable and accommodating of any needs I had, whether I needed my daughter to stay a little later or come a little earlier. We have been going to Sharina's Daycare for 3 years and we are going to miss her. It is time to have our daughter go to kindergarten and that is the reason we are having to leaving. Our daughter had great friendships during her time here. Ms. Sharina is very patient and reasonable with both the kids and the parents situations/schedules. We would get constant updates on how our daughter was doing both good and bad. It was all very constructive feedback and we really appreciated it. The kids would have a curriculum with playtime (inside and outside), tv time, arts and crafts, reading, and math. The kids even made seasonal arts and crafts like Easter baskets, Valentines cards, Mother's Day cards, Father's Day cards, etc.. I cannot say enough about Ms. Sharina's patience since my daughter takes a really long time to eat and generally avoids naps. Never once did she complain about this since she just wanted to make sure my daughter did not bother any other kids. I cannot say enough about Ms. Sharina after coming from a previous bad experience and was hesitant in trying another Daycare. Sharina's Daycare has been a part of my family for about 15 years. Three of my children have attended this daycare, the oldest is now in college. I am a bit neurotic when it comes to my kids, so I would call and speak to my son on the phone during the day. Sharina was very patient with me as she held the phone to the ear of my 6 month old. Yes, I said 6 months. Come to think of it, maybe that was a little much... My youngest in now in the 5th grade and asks can he go to Sharina's on days that I pick him up. Now he only goes on specific days during the week, but he would like to go everyday. That's another great thing, Sharina's is located right across the street from Schafer Park Elementary so she is perfectly located for after school care and she watches the kids as they cross the street to her house. She works with your schedule and is very reasonably priced compared to other daycares. This daycare is absolutely not a good place for infants to start. I took my baby (6 months) there explaining that she will separate from me for the first time and it will take a baby 2-3 days at least to adjust. Sharina was all happy to take her in for me paying more than what she normally charges other babies because of the hours. She agreed and I started first day of my job and the second day she told me that it's better for me to stay home and take my child with me because she is crying and is waking up her sons that happen to work at night and sleep during the day. I was super frustrated thinking about finding another daycare and left her place asking her to care for my baby one more day until I get her to another daycare. She said ok and I left, but she texted me in the evening saying that her assistant is taking off and she cant care for my baby the next day. I replied with bitter words explaining that harm she is doing to my career, and she replied saying that because i left her place being mad, she wouldn't care for her one more day. So she reserve the right for herself to tell me to stay home and NOT go to work, get my baby out because she is crying and separated for the first time, and texts me at 10 in the evening saying that she won't care for my baby tomorrow leaving me no choice but calling my job and taking off the second day of my work to find her another daycare. She almost cost me my job and career because she was not able to care for an infant. read more

I am very pleased with the care Sharina and her helper's provide to my daughter. With only 4 days to find a babysitter I met with Sharina and felt like I no longer had to look around. Sharina was very welcoming and understood my concern about the care of my child. I was nervous at first because I stayed home to care for my daughter since she was born, but I'm lucky to have found Sharina at such short notice. My daughter love's Sharina and when it's time to go home she'll get upset because she wants to stay good sign .
