Tia asked what we wanted and she made sure to deliver. She got my son willing to let her use her clippers on him for a shorter style and even let her line up his edges! My husband brought our son in and showed a reference photo for the haircut we wanted. The haircut itself is not necessarily bad, but it is different from what we asked for and was cut shorter than requested, so there really isn't anything that can be done to "fix" it until it grows back, which is outside their 7-day touch-up policy. What disappointed me most was not even the haircut itself, but the way my concern was handled when I called afterward. We had only just left the appointment, and I was hoping for some basic acknowledgment and customer service. I asked what their policy was in a situation like this and was told we could return within 7 days to have it fixed. I explained that this particular issue couldn't be fixed within 7 days because the problem was that the hair had already been cut too short. At that point, the response was essentially that there was nothing that could be done. What was especially frustrating was that there was very little acknowledgment that the haircut did not match the reference photo and no real apology or accountability for that. Instead, the owner became defensive, focused heavily on whether my husband had spoken up enough during the appointment, offered to pull camera footage, and at one point referred to the situation as a "marital dispute." Even something as simple as acknowledging the mismatch and offering a discounted future appointment once his hair had grown back would have felt like an attempt to resolve the issue. Instead, I had to continue pushing the conversation before any alternative was offered. I fully understand that miscommunication can happen, and I acknowledged that there may have been some between my husband and me. But regardless, we showed a photo of what we wanted and paid $40 for a professional haircut that did not resemble it. I don't think a customer should have to closely supervise a professional throughout a haircut to make sure too much hair isn't being taken off, especially when once it's cut, it can't be put back. Part of the confusion was that when my husband left, he believed he had been given a discount because of the haircut, so he thought his dissatisfaction had been understood. We later realized that he had actually paid the full price. He acknowledges that he could have been more direct about his concerns before leaving, but I don't think that changes the fact that the haircut was significantly different from the reference photo we provided. After quite a bit of back and forth, the owner ultimately offered 50% off a future haircut, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, the dismissive and defensive way the concern was handled is what left the strongest impression. We've also had a couple of people there whose work we really liked, but they were no longer there not long afterward, which has made it difficult to have a consistent experience.
