Aaron's handling of the boat was incredible, and the speed at which Bob changed rigs and lures was awesome to watch. These two never stopped working the whole 6 hours to get us on fish. We tried to catch a couple cobia we saw, then trolled for Spanish mackerel. We caught a couple and then spotted a school of drum and hooked into a nice 29" fish. We then trolled some more catching several nice spanish mackerel. We bottom fished some structures and caught black sea bass of various sizes with a couple keepers. Aaron and Bob worked well together and were constantly working to put us on fish. I can not recommend them enough

In a brief summary, when you read "Google" reviews and you see a "1 star" rating, you take it as someone did not have a good time or like some product or service, or a competitor slamming the competition. However, when you see six "Google 1 star" ratings within the last year (2025) including this one, you must ask yourself is something truly going on here? I have experienced many off-shore trips in my life time going out of Oregon Inlet, and had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful Captains and First Mates, but this was the first time going out of Wanchese, and it was not the case with this crew. Yes, the Captain did put us on some Mahi-Mahi, but at what cost. The entire trip you were talked down to or yelled at by an arrogant, egotistical First Mate (believe his name was Tom, but in the videos, he wears a wrap-around back brace and has a hard time holding his own balance), with the Captain hearing how he speaks to the charter members, without correcting him or taking control of the situation. I wanted to post more details on our group's charter; however, YELP restricts the number of characters (thus summarized). If you would like to read the other five "Google 1 star" reviews referenced above, with similar experiences on Fishin Fannatic they are: "Ray Scroggins (1 year ago)"; "Jake Johnson (2 months ago)"; "Shelly Kight (1 month ago)"; "Ben A (2 months ago)" and "Scott Knouse (8 months ago)". All in all, if you are looking for a relaxing, enjoyable, stress-free trip, you should look elsewhere!!!!! Hopefully, Captain Mark will turn things around on Fishin Fannatic by starting with a NEW First Mate and making sure those that contribute to his livelihood (the charter guest) are treated with respect! This charter was supposed to be an enjoyable relaxing stress-free trip (as advertised), but not the case.

I want a Captain who pursues relentlessly, because that's just who they are. I want a Captain who wants to catch the fish, even more than I do... Captain Mark Fann is a true boat captain. This man hunts with a tenacity that you don't experience often from charter captains. His resume speaks for itself, but the respect that he was given by the other boat captains on the dock, was an amazing thing to see. It was as if he was the General amongst the fleet of tuna boats. There were several options available for charters, but I knew that we made a great choice with FishinFannatics. Mark is a serious hunter. He doesn't stop, not even for lunch. I am so excited to be the first person to review Tenacity Sport Fishing! I have been out on more…read morethan one boat to do tuna fishing off of the Outer Banks. In terms of the boat, it is a converted yacht of sorts. The outside looks like a typical Hatteras deep-sea fishing boat, but the inside is very well equipped for a nice ride to and from the fishing grounds. Now since we can't always choose win the fish are biting, the real value of one of these charters is the captains knowledge and the mates willingness to help. We sailed out but the tuna just weren't going to work out for us that day. The captain gave us the option of either continuing to troll around for what was not amounting to much, or going closer to shore and scoring quite a few tile fish. We were there to fish, so we went in sure. The reason why I bring this up is that it would've been just as easy for the captain to troll up and down and save gas and not really worry about whether or not we caught fish. Instead he involved us in the decision and we had a wonderful time. The real reason why this review is five star comes down to the meet. Brad was a workhorse and truly took care of us in every way possible. His knowledge of the fish, the habitat, how to get them to get on the line, was second to none. It was so enjoyable spending the day with him that it really wouldn't of mattered if we caught any fish at all! But we did catch fish! Quite a few of them! By the time we got back in we were tired, but could not of asked for a better day save the missing tuna! Once you get back to the port, for about a half a buck a pound they will fillet the fish for you and send you home with bags full of fresh fish. I honestly can't wait to go back and fish with Tenacity again!

Tom knew exactly where to find the fish; Brad was an absolute expert with the tackle and helping us novice fishermen to reel in our catches. The boat is absolutely pristine; a gem. It has an extremely even ride; lots of places for naps; and powerful A/C for those so inclined. This was worth every penny we spent. We will be back next year for sure.
