    I smell pancakes!

Beautiful view of the water! Imagine the glorious sunrises and sunsets to be seen from this pier. Lots of fishing going down on this well kept pier, lined with colorful picnic tables. The little store attached to the pier sells fishing equipment, souvenirs, t-shirts and other sundries. There's a small charge for entering the pier, and another larger fee for fishing. There's also a restaurant next to the pier, but that's another review! ;-)

"Good view of nags head beach. It needs maintenance." We thought it is public pier but it was a private one and they charge $2/person to go out there. We roam around fishing pier, it gives a good view of nags head beach. Sand dunes and beach houses behind it give picture card view. Sunset from here looks quite amazing. It is quite an old pier as at the end of the pier when waves bump into wood logs, platform got quite shaky. I got scared first. Whoops.. Just on the pier, there is a restaurant (Nags head pier restaurant). you must try that.

I haven't fished here since I was a kid, but from watching other fishermen it seems like the catches are still good. The staff has always been very nice, and they've always kept the place clean. The restaurant on the pier has really good food, so check them out. They have a little store that sells a few things. And bathrooms. From listening to the discussions, everyone seemed pleased with their visits, and you can tell there are a few regulars who everyone knows by name. Thinking we might be taking a little fishing trip here soon. Maybe start a new tradition with my own kiddos. So needless to say, we'll be heading back.

Pull pork? Dry and tasted old

Pier was great ! Then we went Restaurant to eat after a hour food came was horrible! Was told by manager was NC bbq pull pork then told us it came from Food lion. So you don't cook it you heat it up wow! Told her we will not argue and paid want be back.

If you want the feel of a local and the smell of salt air then head here for breakfast. They have plenty to please a hungry fisherman or a visiting tourist. Combination Platters, Omelettes, High Tide Specials , Pier Platters even Sidelines for the smaller appetite. The service is great with a touch of saltyness. Your cup of coffee never gets empty. They quickly remove empty dishes so you can continue enjoying the view and conversation. After you've eaten you can take a walk out on the pier but it will cost you $2.00 or just sit on the deck and listen to the sound of the ocean. Let all your worries roll away.

    Sunrise at the pier

I went to this pier at sunrise to take sunrise photos (no fishing). Cost is $1.50 to walk on the pier. Clerk reminded me the pass was valid until 5am the next morning & invited me to do sunset photos there as well. The pier is of a good length and is maintained well. I stayed out of the fishermen's way and they gave me plenty of space to do my photos. Pleasant experience.

Amazing. This is THE SPACE to witness the glory of any sunrise -- weather filled with the spectrum of colors or grayed by clouds that remind us to "Remember to play after every storm!" Feel the ocean gently rock the pier, and realize you are where earth and sky and water converge, and where the past and present and future are all realizable in each moment. Thank you, Tim and former managers across the decades for allowing me to roll out for free across the years, and appreciate the darkness shifting with the rising light. Peace.

Cold windy sunset at the nags head pier.

Dude behind counter hits kids with flyswatter. He has also rang my kids up wrong twice to his advantage. Proceed with caution.

AVOID! We booked this charter for a group of 8 guys expecting to have a blast whether we caught…read morefish or just had a good time on the boat. To our surprise, we got nothing but a quick safety briefing, a talk about how to operate a door, and a quick rundown of how to use the restroom. Keep in mind this was a group of all adults. As we departed the marina to head out to the ocean, little did we know that would be the last we would see of our dear boat captain. He said nothing else to us for the remainder of the day. No explanation as to what he had planned for the day, no explanation as to what we would be fishing for, not even a where ya guys from. The hospitality was a ZERO. These guys made us feel like we had absolutely ruined their day for just stepping aboard their boat. DO NOT BOOK! I left two stars due to the fact that we did catch fish. Two fish to be exact, and when we did, once again the captain and his first mate had no hospitality. Yelling at us, "Get in the chair! What are you guys doing?" Maybe we would have know what to do if someone gave us a quick briefing on "Here's what to do when we hook up on one guys" BUT AGAIN WE GOT NOTHING!! Lastly, upon returning to the marina we were waiting for our two small fish to be processed and the Captain of the charter felt that it was necessary to come and haggle us for additional money. In his words, "hey you guys didn't tip". Our response, "you're absolutely right, you guys didn't do anything at all". He was mind blown. He said we needed to come up with additional money and to include a tip. When we said no, he said that our cash amount we had given him was short $60.00 when it was 100% not. This was an all around disappointment from the beginning to the end with nothing but false hope, 0 communication, and a Captain/Son duo that probably ought to just hang it up and stop chartering as a whole. In short, AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Wasn't a fan. Went with a few families and a bunch of kids and was completely underwhelmed…read more Captain Shack gave us a brief safety lecture and then he and his staff ignored us for the rest of the trip. The Captain's son was so unfriendly I didn't even get his name. I know the other kid was Caden, and there was nothing going on there either. They had no personality whatsoever, at least around families and kids, all of whom were well behaved. No explanation about where we were going or what we were doing. The deckhands vaped and ate on deck, talking to themselves and didn't move much. They didn't catch much fish either, which I understand can be the luck of the draw, but if their technique was at all like their personalities, it's no wonder we were mostly empty handed. Avoid this outfitter at all costs if you want to interact with the crew or if you are looking for friendly people. Would absolutely not recommend with kids and families.
