Sharky's was conveniently located right across the street from my hotel in Coron. I went to Sharky's two out of four nights that I stayed in Coron. There seemed to be locals and travelers hanging out there. They have live music every night (cover bands). The decor is nice. Goes with the shark theme. They have clever sayings on the wall. The restaurant is very airy and open. The Elmhurst shrimp was really good. It's a sweet/spicy garlic sauce with a slight hint of curry maybe. I couldn't quite put my finger on what I was tasting. The second night I actually wanted to try the elmhurst wings, but they heard my order wrong and brought shrimp. (The music is WAY TOO LOUD) Not a big deal- we ate it lol. Be prepared to eat the shrimp w/ the shell on. That's where are the flavor is. Bbq wings were over sauced. Tasted like American Wing Stop bbq sauce. They have a few different sauce options but no plain wings. I didn't really care for the loaded fries. The sisig was pretty good. The clamares was better the first night I went. Kinda bland the second time around. The breading was almost tempuraish but crispy and thicker. Out of the grilled platter I only tried the stuffed grilled squid. All I tasted was ginger. I didn't like that. The sisig was good though. Service was good. Very attentive staff.

This restaurant/bar (locals call it a "restobar") in Coron is actually the only place in town that has daily live music, and, as it's basically open air, a good part of the town can hear the music blasting from this place throughout the night. The drink specials are great for tourists and foreigners and the food has all been quite tasty. I even told my brother and sister-in-law that taste is priority number one in Filipino foods; health and all other concerns are a distant second. At this bar, beer buckets (get San Miguel) come with a side of kropek (shrimp chips), so you know, get that to start. If the hot weather isn't hot enough for you, go and order a sinigang soup. The broth of any sinigang worth its salt should be decidedly sour (from tamarind). This sourness is characteristically Filipino, and pleasantly contrasts with the rich fatty foods that will likely follow as the night goes on. The lapu-lapu is fried great. Sharky's has both brown and red versions. My cousin who was with me when I visited here is specifically allergic to the red version, so I only got try the brown version. Be forewarned, the grouper is fried whole, so there could be some scales and bones still left on it. The fried chicken here reminds me of a nice whole/half Filipino fried chicken back home in Los Angeles (at a place called the Crispy House), so I'm a huge fan of it here. A "Mang Tomas" gravy sauce accompanies the order, so that should round you out nicely. The pork sisig also comes out sizzling hot, and if you haven't ordered one before, this is a good place to introduce you to it. Just note that you ought to mix in the raw egg with the hot pork as soon as it arrives at your table. And be sure to take your blood pressure meds before you dig in. Sharky's has an "off menu" item that's pretty popular with foodies: crocodile sisig. Go and order it if you're feeling adventurous, but be aware, there could also be specks of scales in it. Easily identifiable though, and nothing a quick spit can't handle. And how does it taste overall? Per the usual response: like chicken. :) The bands that come on stage are pretty well versed in western music and songs, so feel free to have the waitstaff bring up your requests on a napkin to the band. The night I visited, the band played on despite a brief, five minute blackout (brownout), so I commend their dedication. My fellow Americans at the bar gave them a huge round of applause after they finished their song in the dim flood lights and humid Palawan night air. So don't feel embarrassed about putting in a song request (Filipino or otherwise). If you need inspiration, may I suggest anything by Journey or the Black Eyed Peas?...for obvious reasons.

Good place for seafood [CORON, PALAWAN Philippines]…read more I don't usually eat 3 full meals a day plus snacking in between (we call it "'merienda") but it's so hard to be disciplined on a diet when surrounded by good food. This is another seafood place we dined in that is closer to our hotel resort. We ordered mostly seafood items here. We picked a couple of live mud crabs from their tank and chose the butter garlic flavor and steamed with garlic. We also ordered pork BBQ, lechon kawali (deep-fried pork belly), nilaga (a comfort food which is stew w/ meat and veggies), and calamansi juice all around. Mom was having a feast the most... she loves crabs. Everything was good. Service was better here as the waiter checked on us during our entire meal. Not a quiet place to have conversations though because of the live band. The only time it got quiet was when the entertainment went on a short intermission LoL! 3.5 Stars. Review #3363

Mind you we were the second guest to arrive the first guest they were just two people. We waited atleast 30mins for the first dish to be served then 5-10mins waiting for the next. Second, The lady server was 0 customer service she looks so pissed serving us, the moment we arrived. She said the platter were 2-3people serving, but in reality its just 1-2 person per plate. Lastly, the Most "Scam" why? We ordered 3 plates of shrimps, it was mostly Head Shrimps the number of head shrimps and the number of shrimp tail are not equal. like 12 heads I counted but only 6pcs of tails.! the worst part they gave us 2 plates and the server said, the cooked mistakenly combined the 2plates order in one plate. So thats already total of 3. We felt scammed like they have the same amount. What was our assurance for their statement. That was over for us. We did not argue we just want to finish our food and leave. For all the tourists visiting, Beware! we Highly NOT RECOMMEND this place! But if you want to risk it go ahead, go waste your time and money . In end you'll end up unsatisfied.

They serve beer, cocktails and some food -- mostly seafood/ Spanish and tapas/ apps. As its name would suggest, this is an easy place to witness the show stopping El Nido sunsets. The square footage of the bar/ restaurant is of a reasonable size with some high top seating looking out towards the ocean under any awning (upstairs and ground level), a few tables, and bar seating. I came a little before sunset for a couple of San Migs to experience the splendor at one of their choice high top chairs looking out to the sea. Front row seats at its finest. Oddly, Filipinos have a strange fascination with deep house which was bumping rather loudly and was off putting to some older gentleman who proceeded to turn down the volume without the permission of the workers. A little slice of paradise is sure to be had here if one chooses smartly just to sip and savor and shut out the rest of the world, especially one of the overprivileged tourist.

Don't think twice about ordering some munchies as this place is on point with food too!!
