We enjoyed our meal here. Sort of loud but that's normal for a pub. Our part had fish tacos, wings and a spinach artichoke quesadilla. My mom wanted the funnel cake fries. The meals were good. I asked for no jalapeños on my quesadilla which they accommodated but it still had a kick to it, which I wasn't a fan of. The funnel cake fries were pretty amazing. Unique item and my 80 year old mom was thrilled Other dishes were good. Not the best ever but pretty tasty still. Service was good and our server was very friendly. We got there about 750 on a Thursday night and we're trying to watch the final basketball game. Our waitress and one of the owners tried repeatedly to get it on TV. They couldn't get it on the TV that we were close to so they actually set us at another table. The waitress that we had, I do not remember her name but she had long black hair. She actually gets a P for being so perky. She apologized numerous times because it did take quite a while for a food to come out, it's only four stars instead of five. But once our food finally got to our table it was delicious. If you go to Sharkey's or the Sharkey sandwich, you will not be disappointed. read more

We were in Fort Scott to visit the national historic park. After a hot day of trekking around, we decided to check out their downtown area. They actually have quite a delightful downtown area full of vibrant businesses. However, there aren't many bars to choose from, and we wanted to grab a snack and drinks. I had heard of Sharky's before, so we decided to give it a whirl. It was around 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon and it was poppin'! We were still seated promptly and brought waters while we perused the menu. They have about 10 different beers on tap and several bottles and mixed drink choices. As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised with their food offerings. It's better than what your typical small town bar has to offer. While there really isn't a true vegetarian "meal" option, the spinach quesadillas and the Mac & cheese grilled cheese seem to qualify as vegetarian options. Several of their sides are either vegetarian (fried mushrooms, fried cheese balls, chips & salsa, onion rings and Texas wagon wheels) or can be modified to vegetarian (nachos and potato skins). We had great service here too and their prices are reasonable. The inside of the bar is pretty nice too. They have quite a few TVs and it would be a good place to catch a game. I recommend hitting it up if you're in the area. read more

We have eaten here a few times over the past couple of years (we live a ways north) and enjoyed it each time. The menu is diverse enough for a large group to find their preferences. We always get prompt, friendly service. And they really decorated the place with lots of unique and interesting collectibles along the theme of sharks and ocean adventure. This is a busy place but they take pretty good care of you. Being a pub first, they seem to have about any kind of drink you could ask for. But, the food is first rate, too. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich. I'm a bit of a pork tender snob so when I say it was really good, it was really good. It was pounded out fairly thick which I prefer over those paper thin things that are 2/3 breading. It was tender and stuck out of the brioche bun a long way. The grilled veggies were delicious. My son had the "Queen of the Doublewide" burger with homemade fries. It appeared to be a patty melt with grilled onions and bacon. He said it was all really good. Maaan oh man, this is going to be the second place I'll be reviewing from my 6 day trip to Fort Scott. I was in Fort Scott a few days ago to visit my friend's grandpa with another friend (unrelated). I'm a big city boy from Las Vegas so I walked into these restaurants not knowing what to expect. Boy was I in for some tasty food at all the places I went to. Immediately, my friends and I all walked into Sharky's for dinner after a drive around the area. I was told that the joint is usually fast to seat people, but that wasn't the case during my visit, as they already had a couple of parties dining and, get this, ONE server. ONE. She was sooo stressed out and I genuinely felt bad for her. Anyway. We picked a table to sit at, and started reading our handsomely sized menus. I looked around a little bit, and eventually chose the BBQ burger (I forgot what it was called, but it had onion rings in it and BBQ sauce) with a side of Suzy-Q's and a Sprite to drink. Service was pretty fast after the beginning of our time there. We got our drinks and then our food shortly after as another, yes, another party, stepped in for this girl to deal with. However, as soon as I got over that and took a bite into the burger, I knew I had stumbled upon something great. The patty was super good and juicy, and the BBQ sauce wasn't too overpowering. I will say I barely tasted the onion ring, but it was still an overall good sandwich. And man, the curly fries were just so good; I'm very glad I took my friend's suggestion on getting those, as they were soooo good. All of this great food for what I believe was around $12-$13. Great pricing, and the food was something that you'd pay way more for in Vegas. Overall, I'd definitely come back to this place, but I don't want to see that girl being overworked again, was pretty painful to watch. but yeah, good food, and a good lookin' place too, loved the classic sports bar feel! read more

Absolutely love this small town pub. People from 80-2 in the eating area. Ample bar seating with beach bar nostalgia! Open air; uostairsvseating with 3 tier patios! Free Parking in front and back! Oh and I read a previous review of the bartender with fake eye lashes. Shes still there quite lively in fact! Very nice outgoing and helpful. Hardworking! So the last reviewer shame on you! Go home! Great food,drinks,and atmosphere.... Building is old and a great setting for the local pub vibe. Food isn't Michelin stAr but always good. Menu is diverse and seams to check all the boxes. Staff is attentive and pleasant and always making sure everything is as it should be. My latest meal was a blt on wheat that was one of the best I've had in a while and a buffalo chicken salad to go....buffalo chicken was great with just enough spice and a portion enough for two. Ft Scott is a small town no doubt but this is a great restaurant with a sports bar feel. A great combo when you're traveling. Lots of food and drink selections. I had the O- Rings a salad and Angus Beef Tips with grilled veggies. All of it was good. Plenty of food for sure! read more

Nice setting in an old building with a lot of character. For the good part: the wait staff was prompt and professional and the beer was cold. For the bad part: the food was mediocre at best. The cheese for the Chips & Dip tasted like it came out of a can...tasteless. I had the fish tacos. The presentation was good, but again the dish was as bland as anything I've ever had. Went here with a large group. Service was good for us. Waitress kept our drinks filled. Most people liked their food okay. Our son got the Lug burger that was a double burger with bacon, chili and cheese. I got their smoked brisket french dip. It was tasty but nothing stood out. One person did not care for their pork tacos, they said they were made with BBQ pork and were sweet--she said they were more like a wrap than a taco. Another person ordered wings...they were very pale and in sweet chili sauce bu they were cooked-just looked unusual. The fried mushrooms and onion rings were typical bar fare. The calamari was not like I've had before. In the past, the calamari I have had, consisted of lots of strands jumbled together in various sizes. This was more uniform and in strips. Boy did I like this place! I was on a road trip and heading back home to Tulsa. I found myself staying in Fort Scott because I wanted to see the military post there. I wanted to 'wet my whistle' so I stepped out of the hotel, walked into the old downtown and found this place. I loved it as soon as I walked in. It has the hard wood floors, wooden bar, several references to the Irish with several Kansas teams acknowledged. There is an upstairs and a downstairs with a stairs section sorta in between like an open loft eatery. The walls are lined with brick. There are several beers available on tap. To my Tulsa friends, this place is a real spitting image of the restaurant/bar McNellies in downtown Tulsa. For those of you who aren't familiar with Tulsa, this place is a really good place to sit down and have a drink. I haven't checked the food but, given the number of people there ordering food and eating it, is say the food was pretty good. I mean only the people at the bar weren't eating anything. Good overall experience. Had the Sat. Night boiled shrimp special. I had the full pound portion and while a bit pricey ($(18) it was quite tasty. cocktail sauce was very good and spicy. Came with a side salad, fries, slaw and a mini corn cobb. I had two blue moon draws and my tab with tip was over $30. Lots of TVs to watch the game and the service was very good even though they were very busy. Place was LOUD but I guess that is to be expected for a sports bar. read more
