The Intercontinental Penthouse is just beautiful and being pampered whilst looking out over the harbour was such a treat. I am very disappointed by my experience. I booked an appointment with Eyebrow Atelier which I paid for. I cancelled within 24 hours via email following their policy of being notified in a written form. On the company's website, you have to give 24 hours notice to get a refund. I gave over a week's notice. I have not received a refund and that was over 2 months ago. I've tried to email, phone, leave texts, use their online form but nobody has ever got back to me. This is very different from when I booked the appointment and was hassled into booking it as the phone kept ringing asking me to book. It's a huge waste of my time as I'm having to try and claim my money back - I don't understand why Sharon Lee doesn't return my money. Extremely unprofessional and would not recommend based on this experience. read more

Eyebrow Emporium? Most men would say, what the?? But yes its true, beautiful shaped eyebrows really make a difference on a woman's face and finding a beautician that can transform you used to be challenge. Doing it myself has lead to mis-matched shapes, over-plucking and filling in gaps with eyebrow pencil. I can hear women sighing silently in agreement. I discovered Sharon Lee's Sydney salon many years ago when it used to at the intersection near Centennial Park (at the old Lisa Ho boutique site). The eyebrow specialists were amazing and totally transformed my bushy eyebrows into sleek, beautifully arched lines and through regular visits over 6mths, totally changed the shape of them. I became a Sharon Lee regular despite the high prices (used to be $70). During early 2010 they moved to its current location at the old Grand Pacific Blue Room site near St Vincents hospital, and the couple of times I've been there, it was totally different to the experiences I had at the old salon. I was pretty disappointed with the service as it was really rushed and I felt like they almost wanted to usher me out the door so they can serve the next person. I haven't been back since. Also prices have gone up to $90 a visit. Whoa! I might return for a surprise visit soon to see if its returned to its original excellent service. Keep you updated! read more

Disappointed and ripped-off I attended Sharon-Lee's in Woolahra today and left disappointed and with a feeling of being ripped-off. Initially I planned to book an appointment with a senior brow artist ($90) however I was adviced by the receptioninst on the phone that all first appointments have to be booked with Sharon-Lee herself ($150). I agreed to it because I have heard phantastic stories of magnificent transformation. On arrival one is definetely wowed by the cute little shop and nice music. You are offered a drink on arrival which is nice enough, but the "delicacies" are basically wrapped lollies and tim tams. No cute little finger sandwiches or fruits as advertised. The consultation with Sharon-Lee took about 2 minutes; I told her I don't want my browes much thinned, just in a neater shape. I was put on a lounge in a relcining position for prolonged periods of time despite me mentioning several times that I'm 5 months pregnant and could I please be sit slightly more upright. The waxing and brow shaping took about 3 minutes, then Sharon-Lee or another "brow artist" recommended an eyelash perm. And an eye mask. I was told the price of the perm ($90) but was left to belive that the eye mask is comlimentary (it was $24). Then the whole thing took unbelivable 2 hours! I was left in the chair, not knowing what's going on, propped flat, unable to see (I'm aware that's part of the treatment, but still annoying if you try to catch someone's attention). Then suddenly when everything was done I was ushered out quickly. When it came to paying the bill I mentioned that I wasn't aware that the eyemask would cost extra and also that I hadn't recieved a hand massage as advertised. The comment: "Well, we are really flat out today.". And they refused to give me a discount after that ("We don't do discounts"). Did I mention the result? Too dark, skinny and artificL looking eyebrows! I was shocked and felt like crying. read more

WARNING! RIP OFF. This woman has past her expiry date and needs to put down the tweezers. Charging 180 to wax an eyebrow and doing the most basic job of it. The shop has all customers sitting on beds staring at eachother waiting to have their eyebrows shaped. She is always running late. Beware you are paying for her rent and not her expertise!! read more
