Doesn't honor prices told on phone. They said an up charge of 5-7 dollars for thicker curly hair but they tried charging me 15 dollars more once I got there. This is not how you do business with clients. To me it's not just the money but the decency of customer service this place lacked. This salon is hands down the best salon and Maggie is amazing (although you are in good hands no matter who it is--holler at Rachel, especially for a blowout or styling!). I have been going to Maggie since 2008 for hair cuts, Brazilian Blowouts, and the one time I wanted an ombré (not for me but damn she made it look awesome). Maggie's (and the salon's in general) mastery of Brazilian Blowout surpasses any other Miami stylist/salon. She is able to do it in a way that keeps the hair moisturized afterwards and it can last a long time with the proper care and management (which, of course, she will explain). Her cuts are the bomb. She walks you through the whole process beforehand and talks to you about the right shapes for your face. She is pragmatic and I never feel that she is making me push beyond what I am comfortable with. She even helped me go back au naturale after I had second thoughts about the ombré. Not only is she the bomb for the cutting but I have to underscore that this is the best Brazilian Blowout treatment in all of Miami and you will not find any other salon with this optimal mix of quality and price. Yes, getting the treatment is pricey but it's pricey no matter where you go and you are not always guaranteed a trained professional. Sharp Designers not only provides a great Brazilian Blowout process but note that they actually are trained and certified by Brazilian Blowout (they had to take courses and become certified in the process). That's not the case for many salons. All in all 15/10 experience. This is the best salon in Miami. So much so that I haven't lived there in 7 years and coordinate my travels there so that I have time to squeeze in cuts and Brazilian Blowouts throughout the year. Also, I forgot to mention two other things: (1) their coffee is the best in Miami and (2) the assistants washing your hair have magical hands. read more

i've only been to Sharp Designers twice. once was when i won a makeover last year and now this is my 2nd time. I got my cut done with Maggie both times and i absolutely love her! she makes you feel welcomed and is very down to earth!! thats what i love about her! she knows her stuff and gives an awesome cut! the staff is very friendly, offering cafesitos or water or something to read. Maggie charges around $80 for a cut & blowdry & i don't know how much color services are. but i can honestly say, when i did my makeover, i fell in love with that place!! i gave it 4 stars because i'm very low maintenance with my hair so i'm not sure how they are with other aspects of hair treatments. read more

WOW! All I can say is WOW! It was my first time coming in. It's always a little scary trying out a new salon.... Maggy greeted me and was totally understanding. We went over the ideas I had and suggestions that she had for my hair. I have a virgin naturally black hair .She took the time to make sure my color turned out how I wanted. she understood exactly what I wanted and it looks fabulous!!! She really took her time and was so friendly...She is a fantastic communicator, which I appreciate so much in a hairstylist. She did a wonderful job keeping as much length as possible while also giving my hair a great style. I love my hair cut and will be back to her for my next one. It is so scary going to someone new after years of being with the same stylist. But I finally decided it was time to make the change and I am so thrilled that I did. She did exactly what I wanted and left my hair looking flawless. Since I have extremely straight hair, I don't style it much, I kind of let it do it's own thing. Maggy cut and styled my hair to match my level of effort and made sure it was something I could maintain. The salon is so pretty, modern and relaxing I felt welcomed right away. There's plenty of parking and when you arrive, you'll be offered coffee ,Wine or water. Just another nice touch! I'm going back here for my next haircut. She's well worth full price. I was so excited I was able to get a same-day appointment here in between doctors appointments this week. Rachel did my hair and she did exactly what I wanted and gave great advice! The woman that assisted her in washing my hair had magic gingers, and she brought me a complimentary Cuban coffee with whipped cream and cinnamon. Compared to the more trendy blow dry bars, this salon has competitive prices with better customer service. I will definitely be going here anytime I'm in Miami! read more

I went to see Maggie last week after seeing her work on Instagram and she is amazing!!! I decided to go from dark brown to blonde in April and the beautician who originally did my hair at another salon really messed up my hair. Before Maggie, my hair was dry and my highlights looked stringy and didn't blend well with my natural curly hair. After spending a few hours with Maggie my hair is now the perfect blonde with the right amount of natural highlights. Maggie was very detailed and meticulous on how she applied the color to my hair and was very honest when she felt my hair couldn't take more because it was too damaged (from the previous botched hair dye.) Now, every one keeps complimenting me and saying how natural my hair looks now. Last night I washed my hair for the first time since seeing Maggie and my hair is so soft and the highlights look great with my natural hair. She really worked her magic in making sure my hair color looks good when I wear it curly or straight. I also signed up for the membership program and this weekend I will be stopping by to get my hair washed (with Kérastase products) and blow dried for $20.00. This place is incredible. My personal best hair salon that I have been too. I was for 10 years at a salon but when I tried this one I changed in a heart beat. Maritza does a great job and the best Brazilian Blow Out treatment she also did a color correction and got the exact color that I wanted. I was styled by Maritza. She is very personable, and fun to talk with. My hair had balayage and I just wanted my grey roots covered and to pop in a few highlights around my face. She kept insisting on and did a full balayage ( as this is a much higher price point)and oops for got to cover my grey roots! She tried to fix the mistake by putting in a toner that only washed away after my first shampoo 2 days later. Not what you expect after paying $400. Maggie, owner of this salon is horrible. After my color processed, the remainder of the appointment was for her to blow dry and cut my hair. INSTEAD, she took a walk-in appointment on my time and passed me off on her associate. He could not do my hair. And it was not his fault, as he had never done my hair before, but it looked so bad that I instructed them to re-wash my hair and I was leaving. I told owner Maggie that I would NEVER return to her salon as she treated me so poorly. I could not believe it. After I paid my bill, I left there with WET HAIR!! When is the last time you left a hair salon with wet hair because the service was so bad? Do yourself a favor and find a salon who values their clientele. Maggie is greedy and could care less about who she inconveniences. I would not recommend this salon or the owner Maggie. She has zero integrity and is a despicable human being. Totally disgusting experience at this salon. They also use cheap color products that dry out your hair. Found this salon online looking for colorists that use wella innocence, which is for people with sensitive/allergy prone scalps to hair dyes. Took a chance and couldn't be happier. Maggie spent time discussing my needs and wants. She seemed very abreast of new technologies and styles. She expertly blended a dark honey blond base into my existing base with highlights. Extremely pleased -and I am hard to please when it comes to my hair. My trim and blow were perfect. Maggie deserves these 5 stars. The salon is clean,modern and comfortable. The staff is friendly. I got my hair dyed a few months ago by someone who no longer works in miami and after months spent trying to find a new salon A friend told me to go to Maggie at sharp designers. I had blonde ombré and wanted to go more blonde and Im very picky about my hair so I wanted to make sure it was done somewhere good. I went in and the staff was very friendly. They offered me something to drink abunch of times. I finally met with Maggie and she sat down and made sure I went over exactly what it was I wanted and it came out exactly as I had explained it to her. Unfortunetly for me I didn't like the way that light shade of blonde looked on me so I called back the next day asking if there is anything they could see me that day and even though there was no appointments they told me to come back in Completly free of charge and they toned it down, Re did the roots and gave it a beautiful dark blonde color that looked amazing and even through all of my annoying comments about making every little thing look perfect they never made me feel like I was being annoying or inconveniencing them in any way. Sharp designers is an amazing salon, great staff and great location. And Maggie is one of the best colorists in miami hands down and I recommend her for anyone looking to change their hair color :) read more

I have gone to two different stylists at this salon. Both cuts were terrible. Neither stylist took into consideration my hair texture or overall style. Neither stylist did a good job of LISTENING to what I asked for and what I needed. BOTH stylists did what they wanted to do, or what was easiest for them. Both hair stylists could not provide me with a recommendation using my face shape, my current cut, and my hair texture. They both relied on celebrity photographs to have an idea of what I wanted. Not every style or hair cutting technique will work on everyone. I would expect stylists at a salon like this to know this. During the last visit (to correct errors from the first visit) the stylist gave me EXACTLY what I told her I don't like. It was almost like a cruel joke. In fact, maybe it is a cruel joke. How could she do exactly what I said I don't like? I couldn't believe it. I am very dissapointed and regret the day I first stepped foot at this salon. read more
