Property Damage: During the relocation of garage items, my refrigerator was moved. It ceased functioning immediately following the move. A certified technician inspected the unit and provided a written assessment stating the failure was due to damage sustained during transportation. IT IS POSSIBLE that it could have been pure coincidence. I did not file a claim or state I wanted money for the fridge. Financials: Zilvanis requested an interim payment of $150 for labor already performed. I paid this amount, even though the contract designated the final $300 to be paid only after a successful final walkthrough. Project Termination: When I shared the technician's findings regarding the refrigerator, the contractor denied responsibility and immediately cancelled all remaining work. Incomplete Scope: Due to the abrupt cancellation, the installation of door weather stripping was never completed. The contractor remains in possession of the delivered part.

I found The Affordable & Licensed Handyman through Yelp because they had great reviews so I was interested to see how much their service fee would be for a simple job when I was looking for a plumber. I needed a license plumber due to home insurance requirement to do this installation or I would've done it myself. They were responsive when I talked to them through Yelp projects. I was shocked with how much I was quoted because it was almost double the price of the automatic shut off valve device I paid for. So I had to confirm that the price that was given to me was just to switch out the bad unit with the new one. They didn't have to do anything else like run new pipes or replace anything else. When I communicated to them that the quote was high, they asked how much did i wanted to pay. I thought they would try to be more reasonable since the name is The Affordable. I give them a range based on the prices from other plumbing company that I reached out to and they couldn't do it which I understand they can set their own prices. Maybe for big projects, they'll give more of a reasonable price which is why they have great reviews on Yelp but just to replace a bad automatic shut off valve with a brand new one, I think it was overprice so I used another plumbing company where they were very reasonable on the price.

So according to him, it would be best to either redo the shower or we would have to use a bigger plate than the one that came with our shower valve to cover the big hole in the front in order to make space to work on the valve. Even though in the end we didn't touch the shower, it was mainly because of Ruslan's detailed explanation of what the work would entail.

The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. Even after everything was finished, they guaranteed that they would come back and fix anything that needed fixing. Cannot recommend them enough if you want to improve or build your new home!

Ubiquiti had a solid reputation for quality and reliability, so I went about finding someone who handled their products. Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Really great setup with excellent user interface and excellent camera resolution. Every place I contacted either told me they couldn't help or wanted me to replace the entire unit. Star Service 88 was the first company willing to actually diagnose the problem instead of giving up. The technician took the time to remove my head unit, completely disassemble it, find the issue, and repair it. He explained everything along the way, was patient, and charged a very fair price for the work. It's rare to find someone willing to do component-level electronics repair these days, and that's exactly what they did. On top of fixing my radio, he also noticed my sound system wasn't tuned properly from a previous installation. He took the extra time to balance my speakers and improve the overall sound quality, fixing a problem that another shop had left behind. I strongly recommend avoiding this company. Zero stars if possible…read more My experience was extremely disappointing. I paid over $750 for a re-install, but the original problem was never resolved. When I contacted them to come back and address the issue, instead of standing behind their work, they told me I needed over $1,000 in additional repairs. I questioned whether those repairs were actually necessary, and rather than answering my questions, their response was simply, "Do not waste our time." That level of customer service was shocking, especially after I had already spent hundreds of dollars with them. To make sure I wasn't being unreasonable, I spoke with multiple other repair companies and the manufacturer. Based on those conversations, I was told the additional repairs they recommended were unnecessary. However, because this company insisted the repairs were needed, I had another contractor perform the work. After that, I contacted this company again regarding the original problem that still existed. They then told me that because I had another company perform the additional work, they would not come back to address or stand behind their original repair. In my opinion, this is not an honest company. They charged me for work that did not fix the problem, recommended costly additional repairs that others told me were unnecessary, refused to answer reasonable questions about those recommendations, and ultimately refused to stand behind their original work. I have the text message exchanges documenting these interactions. They clearly show how dismissive they were and how they avoided answering my questions instead of explaining or supporting their recommendations. The messages speak for themselves. I would not use this company again, and I would not recommend them to anyone looking for honest, reliable service. Avoid at ALL cost.
