These people are sooooo terrible. The service is terrible, the wait times are terrible. No one ever calls back when they say they will. Transfer you around departments repeatedly. Never ending holds, then it hangs up after 90 minutes of wait time and you start again. Been without internet for 6 weeks. Our Phones are with Rogers too, so we obviously get no signal. Get better. DO NOT USE SHAW. Since the Rogers buy-out, they will lie and steal from you. I moved away and asked to cancel my account. They begged and pleaded with me to just suspend the account, for no charge, and pick up where I left off when I had moved again and needed internet services. I must stress they promised me no charges. I agreed. I then noticed they had continued to charge my credit card without my knowledge, eventually maxing it out. They attempted another charge, but could not get the funds from the maxed card, and so proceeded to add a $70 bounce-back surcharge to the bill. I waited for 2.5 HOURS on their customer service line, getting bounced between Shaw and Rogers because nobody knows how the departments work or who does what, with the merger. Eventually a rude woman told me the charges are correct, there was nothing she was going to do about it, and if I wanted to cancel, it was an additional $120. On top of that, I am currently unable to pay the bill, because their sign-in page no longer works on any browser, on either my desktop or my phone. It keeps redirecting me to their support page which has no account recovery options. The account recovery link from the AI bot just sends me back to the sign-in page, where I will just loop endlessly. Good way to siphon another $70 late fee out of me, I guess. Criminal behavior. Shaw used to be really good, I used them for over 10 years. Now that Rogers has taken over, they are a must-avoid. They WILL steal from you. read more

Shaw and Rogers don't communicate and then expect you to set up everything, communicate with both, and pay if you don't. A man came to my door and sold a deal. TV, Internet, and cell phones. The technical service failed to help me and my family with the TV. The lack of cell service led to lost business with my wife's phone. Then, after I cancelled service with Shaw and returned the equipment in less than a week, Rogers charged me for the TV service I never received. I called after I got the bill. They said I owe 631 dollars for not cancelling on time, because I didn't call them. Unkind and unethical companies. Don't do it. read more

We used Shaw for over two years. Until we bought a new house in Winnipeg. Previously, when I moved, I opened the online chat and could change my address within minutes. This time, they removed that option. Now you can only make phone calls. It only took an hour and 50 minutes. The service is getting better every day! We had all the cables from this provider running to our house, but it turned out they weren't connected to the network, and the provider stated that no connections were planned at our new address for the next few months. When I asked what to do, they offered me the option of continuing to pay the $107 per month contract until the end of the contract (1.5 years) or paying $300 immediately to disconnect. I didn't want to disconnect; I was happy with the service, but I also didn't want to pay and not receive the service. And it's not my fault that Shau can't provide me with the service I'm obligated to pay for every month. We paid $300 and terminated our contract. Now we've switched to a different provider and are paying $70 instead of $107, and we won't be obligated to pay a cent if we decide to cancel our contract. I'm extremely dissatisfied with Shaw (Rogers), I don't recommend them to anyone, and I wish them the quickest possible loss of all their remaining customers and bankruptcy. Absolute garbage! I signed up for internet on shaw's fastest plan thinking it would work great. Since the day it was hooked up nothing has worked properly. Internet sparatically works and speeds are horrible. upload speeds are even worse. Got 2 streaming boxes which had to be replaced within 1 week of having them. got 2 new streaming boxes and still have the same issues. Sportsnet app does not work at all even though I have a subscription to sportsnet+. Was told I need a subscription and needed to log in however the app wouldn't even load so I could sign in. Called rogers to have the service cancelled and they refused. Continually telling me I shouls talk with tech support. I have already had 2 techs come out and am still having these issues. I would give them zero if I could. My husband had a stroke so I decided we needed to get a lower rate on our tv , internet and security. Telus would not lower our rates even after over 20 years with them. It was time to try Shaw then. I called them up and it was a 2 1/2 waiting period for the technician to come install. The day of he came a half hour late then left early as he could not finishing installing everything. The second appointment a week later, the guy doesn't show and doesn't bother to call. Then I find out (after holding on the phone for over 3 hours and then trying their texting it's the only way to talk to them as you will hold all day.) In texting them you often get cut off so then you have to try again. Anyway after all that I find out the guy cancelled the appointment and said he called me. He did not. 3rd appointment I'm getting my security put in and again the guy is an hour late and then takes 3 1/2 hours to screw in 3 cameras and still couldn't not finish my senors. 4th appointment the guy wastes 2 hours trying to connect the sensors but could not. 5th appointment the guy does not show up or call again. 6th appointment the guy gets the sensors in but the next day they conked out. So there's a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. I text again and cancel. Then I got a way better deal back at Telus. Shaw tries to bill me 2500 for cancelling. After arguing my way through different people (many times they disconnected my texts even though I was totally polite), they tried to say it was a 10 day trial, then a 15. Then they tell me I owe 700 for equipment and they lowered my bill to that until I returned the items. I returned them. Then they tried to say I don't get my money back because I financed the equipment. I asked for a manager multiple times and never did speak to one as they don't allow that I'm thinking. They seemed to look for anything they could to try to deny you and make any excuse as to why you have to pay. I wonder how many people fall for their garbage. I never gave up as I knew I was in the right. Finally after texting yet again they finally cleared my bill and let me go. Considering my husband was in hospital all that time and worrying about him, these people could give a hoot about you and all they did was try to punish me for cancelling their horrible horrible service. I had a different experience with a service call from Rogers with Shaw. A new modem for wifi (Previously Internet 15); for $6 LESS per month it was boosted to 500 mbps. Also a new modem for the tv, a much better integrated system that now includes apps like Netflix and Youtube, etc. On top of that, my landline charges were reduced by $14/month. I wish I new the technician's name, but he was excellent. read more

I called today -it was a long wait. We were charged twice on Aug 10 and Aug 23 this month for our Shaw bill of 269$ . The lady told me that the reason for this is to change the payments from 1 month to 2 weeks . I did NOT get a notice of this change. She said it may be. spam and it was on previous bills which I don't don't look at because they are on line. I have no reason to check the on line bills because the amount is always the same. She said they don't phone because people don't answer. If you can go with any other internet provider, do. It's extremely rare to get the download and upload speeds you pay for and when you do they're not consistent. When I started looking into my issue with upload speeds that would just drop to zero randomly I found that this issue has been going on for years with many customer complaints and no attempt by Shaw to fix this. I dont understand how a large company doesn't keep track of their equipment rentals when it becomes obsolete. I don't understand when I ask them why they didn't contact me because my equipment is outdated their answer. We don't keep track of that. I know they keep track of it and they just wait till their equipment rentals break down and then they have to inconvenience us because it Has to be replaced. The repairman comes in replace the equipment and they don't even take the old stuff back to recycle it. We have to throw it out or recycle it. Twenty years or so with Shaw and enough is enough. My two year value plan $75/mo including home phone (their name not mine) expires next month. I get a link for renewal. A whopping $175PM - 300MBS or 900MBS+ @ $185. I have no need for that kind of speed. If they actually ever delivered that. I have a 75MBS plan now that delivers (if it's up and I'm lucky) about 7MBS on average. Best speed I ever saw was around 27MBS but didn't last. Service drops off line constantly (their own admission) to the point they came out a couple of months or so ago to replace the modem to see if that helped. It didn't. Since Covid, in the evenings, I have dial up service (circa 1998-2002). Pictures resolving line by line. 2 minute videos won't run without stopping ten or so times (no joke). The TV drops out constantly because the bandwidth can't support it. Went into support and told them I wouldn't renew for the $175 price. Why should I when they couldn't even deliver the service for the $75 package. Got an $85 quote, no phone included. Adding phone another $30. $115 for a package that represents more than a 50% increase on existing $75 service they can't deliver to begin with. I asked for justification on 50%+ increase (home phones available in multiple locations for $10.) She says I gave it to you what do you want to do. Not renewing! Fine have a nice day. She's gone! If it was the first problem...but I've been dealing with these low speed, service interruptions and the bitchy support staff for decades. Enough! I was being overcharged for my monthly Bill (like $120 .. up from $75) because some signing bonus "deal" had expired. So I'm order to get my rate back down to $85/month Inhad to sign a 2-year contract. That contract didn't include the previous 12months of course that I had been a customer .. and when I moved in with my GF and cancelled my internet they hit me with a $280 cancellation fee. Considering I've never owed more than $40 on my past bills that was an unexpected hit. And right in the middle of this COVID-19 pandemic. Yet when i asked for the date my bill is due, they began asking a multitude of questions to verify who i am... I like Shaw for the most part but their cable internet is faulty sometimes. There have been many mornings where I wake up and the internet is going ridiculously slow or not working at all. Usually the problem is fixed by resetting the modem but it's such an inconvenience and annoying as anything. Other than that the service is pretty good and when it's not slow which is rare, it is pretty fast and reliable. I don't like the speed bumps though. read more

I have been a longterm Shaw internet customer for a while, but decided to add TV to my service. I scheduled an appointment for the installation between 8-10 AM. The installer called at 9:35 AM to tell us he was enroute, but I missed the call. I spent the entire day waiting for an installer that never showed up. I called to complain the next day and reschedule, but the first customer service operator was brutal. I got slightly testy and found myself transferred to another rep, who was more reasonable, but still told me that no appointments were available for the following day. Being that I hadn't made an installation appointment, we went about our business the next day. At about 6 PM, I received a call that the installer was at my house, but I wasn't anywhere near home. At this point, I was exasperated and called Shaw again, set up another appointment, and told the rep that they were waiving the installation fee. I'll let you all know how that goes. read more

This isn't really a review of Shaw Cable services or their products. I was at the Shaw Cable building on the west end the other day, to be in the studio audience for a local cable series on Shaw TV. I would have never thought the first time I see a live tv show it would be in Edmonton. Anyway it was for a psychic show, and for an hour of entertainment (or more depending on your thoughts about psychics all that). I thought it was a fun way to spend an evening. I even got to go up and ask a question. The girl who checked us in and had us sign the release forms was very nice. One thing I will say is the chairs in the front waiting area are quite uncomfortable, but they do have free wifi (for Shaw customers that is). read more

Two sales people came to my door today in Leduc Alberta and proceeded with questioning my wife regarding our current internet provider. Then carried on with their own Shaw cable sales pitch mixed with rude comments and inappropriate questions completely unrelated to what they claimed to be selling. After the 3rd time politely declining with "no thank you" she eventually had to force them out of the door way and shut the door. I recently signed up for a 2 year Shaw internet and cable TV package for $135.00 per month. When I read the contract it stated that changes could be made to my plan so long as the "Minimum Service Level" was maintained. After a few months I wanted to make a change to the cable TV portion of the service as I found I didn't really make good use of the "Total TV" package. What I requested when I called in was to reduce the TV to a "Limited" package and add Crave. When looking at what they charge, this was actually a reduction in monthly fees but the "Customer Service" agent said I would be charged an additional $44.00 per month. After a lengthy discussion with her and her supervisor, I got nowhere. My point being I'm willing to continue paying my agreed upon monthly rate with a reduction in service but there was no way I would be willing to pay substantially more and receive less. I was a shaw customer and after multiple attempts to resolve many challenges with BAD SERVICES -over charging, changing my plan without permission (of course more expensive), Lying about cost of service -technician coming in with boots refusing to take them off and leaving a mess on multiple floors including my bathroom. Then absolutely making a tangled mess with my cords. Still had a problem with service after he left. -property damage when they were putting in a line -harassing a neighbour to string a line from her place. I will write more as I was dumb enough to see about services again after many years. Thought after many years I would check again about a plan. This time -6 X trying to phone with 1.5 hour wait times -one time I was able to get through the plan sounded good; however I asked for a call back from the customer service and 9 days later never was called back. - The last time I tried The Loyalty department of course did not listen to my simple request then stated over several times plans that were not even the featured price and service I was told about before!! no sorry or acknowledgement that my previous request did not occur after 9 days or the extremely long hold times. They charged me for equipment that was returned and accepted by them within 2 days of cancelling. They sent me a bill for the equipment plus cancellation fee. None-the-less, when my neighbor got Shaw cable, the installer decided it would be a good idea to run the cable from the light standard, coiled up the light post halfway, then over and across my front yard, through my half-dead tree (using it as a wire support). Then low across my driveway, onto the roof and over the peak of my neighbors house... He is NOT impressed with it either. But instead of fixing the problem they decide that it is going to stay there and verbally abused me. Then they sent a truck... to fix it? NO... just to remove a sign I placed on it.
