Had to cancel cable and internet for my dad who passed away, but needed to keep phone number for insurance purposes in keeping his home alarm system active. Was told if they cancelled anything it all had to be cancelled. I asked if I could put the phone number in my name in order to keep it active and was told no, because if they pulled up the account to cancel anything, they would cancel it all. Has anyone else had any experience with Shaw/Rogers with this type of situation? My parent's had this number for 40 years, and we just need to keep it until the house sells :( read more

I have called SHAW at least 8 times in the last 4 days, I have been on HOLD for more than 5 hours, I have been promised tech help this last Thursday (NO SHOW!), and today (NO SHOW). In total, I have wasted at least 18 hours, waiting, waiting, waiting. Plus I have missed several very important medical appointments. When an agent answers, many are almost impossible to understand. They say things like "Oh, I am so sorry that you have had difficulties. We will send a technician as soon as possible", and they even give me a date and time! Uh-huh! My phones and internet are not working properly. They also insisted I had not paid a bill, when in fact, I have all the proof from my bank that I did pay. They told me they were very busy, and it was hard to keep up with all the customers, so why do they keep inviting more people to sign up for their services? I have been a customer for years, and it used to be customer focused: good grief, you could walk into a SHAW business, talk to a person, get help. BUT NOW? They are pocketing money, avoiding contact, and treating customers like dirt. They do not deserve even one star. read more

It was not just a matter of disappointment...the way my 84 year old mother was treated by the cranky, condescending installer today was absolutely DISGUSTING. His answers to questions were vague, & then he was quite annoyed when my mom & I (both intelligent people) did not understand what he needed to do. We have 6 receivers for our Shaw Direct satellite TVs, which required updates. Five had been delivered over the past few months with only one now needed. After hours of waiting on line for many phone calls, chatbox, searching the internet, etc. over several days and a few real-person attempts to get the one receiver replaced, I actually got someone to solve the problem! His name is Justin, employee number S9M1, located in Montreal. He had me get the Serial Numbers for all the receivers we had--which required me getting a flashlight and pulling the receivers out the read the numbers. He said he would call back in half an hour, and he did!!! One other person on chatbox tried this too but the time required put the Session timed out. After patiently going over the list of serial numbers, he finally had a new DSR800 receiver sent, and it was received!! THANK YOU JUSTIN!!!! Shaw Rodgers merger has certainly not gained customer satisfaction but Justin deserves a raise! read more

We signed up with Shaw in early 2013. We signed up for cable/internet/phone. The phone included voicemail for $6/month. We had a phone system from Costco which included a voicemail feature so we never used the Shaw voicemail system. Yes, we were paying $6/month for something we weren't using, but I believed that we would at least have backup should the Costco phone system fail. I then forgot about it and faithfully paid my bill every month for 5 years. This month, our Costco phone system failed. Our Shaw voice mail would not kick in. All that we would hear after multiple rings was a fax machine sound, even though we weren't hooked up to a fax. The technician came today. According to technician Dean, due to a computer glitch we NEVER had access to voicemail. A call to Shaw billing got me ALL of this: 1. A $7 credit 2. A $7 movie credit 3. Sympathy from the front line operator 4. "No we cannot refund you $360 for the service you never had available to you because you didn't complain about it until now" 5. "There is no point in giving you to my Supervisor because he will just tell you the same thing" 6. "No, I can't give you the name of anyone else because we don't have access to any names or numbers" Thieves....this company is run by amoral thieves. read more

Had a two month break with Shaw after over 25 years. When I went back, was told I have to sign a two year contract to save $ and the nightmare began! Two technicians out, each blaming the last tech for outdated equipment. When the "new" equipment failed to work after THREE days, I was mailed a new one but had asked to speak to a manager. This manager called me seven weeks later, blaming Covid-19. All equipment was returned four weeks ago yet I've had to call them three times and they still not only have my account completely messed up but haven't cancelled my contract from July!! If Shaw was the only internet company available world would de, I'd buy myself a carrier pigeon. Useless, incompetent, untruthful company. Save yourself the hassle. read more

awful customer service, on the phone after more than 30 minutes waiting for reps, she just hang up middle of conversation, never try to call back even already access account and easy find back communication...on "live chat"..." your estimated wait time is: 10.37"...after 20 minutes..."your estimated wait time is 28.56"...after other 20 minutes: " your estimated wait time is 39.23"...and i patiently waited other an hour and never any one respond... from 2 devices, call them back, after 42 minutes waiting for response reps hang up again...seriously? read more
