We have used Shaw Remodeling many times thru the years. We have always been happy with their work and service. Recently, we had a problem with a toilet in our downstairs. The flooring needed replacing before a new toilet could be installed. After going upstairs for weeks to use the toilet up there, we contacted Shaw and within a couple of days, they were at our home to install a new tile floor one day and the toilet the next. Other places we called wanted to come do the work in a MONTH! We are really pleased with our new tile floor in our downstairs and so happy to have a downstairs toilet that works again. Eric and the office girls have always been very pleasant to work with. I would recommend them to everyone. read more

I overpaid for 2 bathroom remodels. While the showroom experience picking out tile etc was great, they subcontract the work. The workers wouldn't show and didn't call which made the project longer. I had to oversee the project and point out things that needed to be redone such as areas that weren't painted, uneven fixtures etc. I called Shaw every time and they seemed to be inconvenienced. We had a great experience with Shaw completing our kitchen, dining, laundry room, and living room remodel in early 2024. We love the look of our home now and had as easy an experience as possible. I enjoyed working with Audrey to design the kitchen, it was so helpful to have her knowledge in selecting colors and creating the look that I wanted since I have no design experience. Fabian was the project supervisor and was easy to contact and always available for questions. We also worked closely with Sherry who was super responsive when we had needs come up. Even one year after our project was completed they have been available for any minor issues that we have had come up and were willing to come assess any issues and answer questions. I am extremely pleased with my kitchen remodel! After 2 years of planning, research, and contemplation, I decided to pull the trigger. Shaw Company came highly recommended via several reputable sources. And, although not the least expensive company, I chose Shaw based on their reputation and they did not disappoint! Full of trepidation, I met with Jordan, who drew up the plans. My 6-8 week project was scheduled to begin approximately 4 month later. Anthony was the supervisor and did an outstanding job keeping things moving. And although there were five change orders, to include the addition of flooring in between the project, the scope was completed on time and to perfection! I would be remiss if I did not mention Marcus, the all-around guy! He installed what I would label as very intricate lighting fixtures, and took care of a number of other items. Back at the office, Sherry kept me straight with finances and change orders. Nadia, the office receptionist was always pleasant and made sure I received responses as requested. Thank you! However, I also believe that reviews should also include recommendations, as no one or company is perfect. Shaw Company Remodeling completed our whole house remodel in May 2023. The entire experience was excellent. They told us initially that the project would take three to four months, and they completed it within 4-1/2 months and that included several delaying changes that we added to the project while in progress. They exceeded our expectations on quality and efficiency. We set the scope with Jordan over several meetings during a two year period. The timeframe was our schedule. Jordan would have turned it around much faster than we were able to make decisions. He listened to us and made great suggestions. Jordan made sure we understood exactly what Shaw was expected to do. We then met Brittany and Audrey in the design center to make our cabinet, flooring, paint, countertops, plumbing fixtures, etc., selections. Brittany brilliantly read our minds on what I wanted in the way of a color scheme. Neighbors all agree that the choices we made with Brittany could not have been better. The project supervisor, Anthony, was responsive to all our needs and always made sure we were happy with the quality of the work. He was always available when we wanted to meet to discuss the project. Kyle provided quality control, and he was a second set of eyes to Anthony. All Shaw employees and contractors did excellent work and were responsive to our needs. Marco and Marcus deserve special mention for all the quality work they did on our house. The first sign of trouble with a remodeling contractor looks like this: You set up an appointment, confirm a time, and wait 2 weeks for them to show up. An hour before the scheduled appointment time they call you to confirm a time that is 2 to 3 hours after the time originally set then try to convince you that there was some "miscommunication" on your part. I've waited months for my anger to subside; but I'm still not over it and just want to tell at least some what we went through with this company. We would NEVER recommend Shaw Company Remodeling to anyone. We signed the contract in June and waited until August for our four- to six-week master bathroom remodel and upstairs new flooring project to start. Day one, our bathroom was ripped apart and, as workers showed up late (if at all) and left early, weeks went by with very little progress being made. At week five, we heard "Four to six weeks? Who said that? We always said six- to eight-weeks." By then we would have been THRILLED with six- to eight-weeks. But not until DECEMBER did we get our home back. (That's four MONTHS.) We felt our home was taken hostage and we were at the mercy of a company that didn't care; their workers did what they wanted, when they wanted, if they wanted. And the amount of things that had to be fixed - from plumbing to electrical to carpentry -- multiple items had to be fixed, and several items had to be fixed multiple times. (Our hallway wall even had to be opened to reroute the electricity that 'somehow' no longer functioned in our bedroom.) Bottom line, we paid approximately 20% extra to hire Shaw because they presented to us that they would professionally manage our project from start to finish. We should have saved our money and gone with a contractor actually interested in doing a good job in a reasonable timeframe. The lack of respect this company showed to us in our own home, while we paid them tens-of-thousands of dollars, is something I wish on no one else. read more

I had my master remodeled and new kitchen countertops and backsplash installed. There is an onsite visit followed by an office visit. If one is serious there is a percent you put down followed by a very thorough design session. The job started within s couple of weeks. The crew was trustworthy and skilled and it's obvious the company wants the customer to be happy, above all. I got them during the start of the corona virus so they got in a hurry towards the end when they work on the punch list. I reported on a few items that were not right and they immediately followed up and corrected the issues to my satisfaction. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Our advice to you should you choose Shaw Company Remodeling: Document everything--dates when workers show up and how long they work, dates when no one shows up or calls, dates when you call office management to check on the status of your project, etc. Take photos of the work in progress and communicate frequently with management via texts and emails regarding issues. Stay on top of everything and everyone, as the responsibility of initiating and completing the project may be yours. Don't accept inferior workmanship, excuses, or lip service. This review is to inform the public not to use Shaw Company. They recently did a job for me and it took 9 months for a project that should have lasted 2-3 weeks. The workmanship was terrible having to redo their work over. They no showed several times. The contract said no refund on the deposit so when the project started to go wrong you have no choice but to keep going. I tried to fire them and they refused stating they had a contract. They threatened me with a lean on my home if i didnt pay them the balance. They were rude and bullying and at times laughed at me when i complained. It has been the worst experience and i dont want it to happen to anyone else. So avoid Shaw Company at all costs. They take your money and laugh all the way to the Bank. read more

DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR!!! This contractor will over-promise and under-deliver. A six-week project took four months, had numerous quality control problems and the owner (Eric Shaw) failed to respond to my calls and requests to get the work done as promised. This $30,000 bathroom remodel was a total screwup and nightmare! There were numerous problems with the foreman (Randy Guzman) doing what I asked, or showing up when promised. One section involving an exterior window had to be completely taken out and redone because the work was such poor quality. The contractor's people used an oil-based paint inside the house, which really stunk up the place. They did NOT tell me they were using this type of paint; I just came home one day and had a house full of fumes. The other part of the paint job using latex paint had to be redone because you could see the old paint through the new color. Light fixtures and outlets had to be moved because they were originally installed in the wrong locations. A part of the closet ceiling was sagging and also had to be redone. Shaw has done remodeling work for us twice. The staff is friendly and helpful, their pricing is as good - or better - than the competition, and their work is outstanding. BUT, get every little thing finished before they walk out the door. After our their last job at our home, we found some tile problems (one piece damaged/broken and the tile guy tried to find it with a lot of grout; some out of the way areas where there was no grout; and a couple of spots on tile which they should have cleaned), contacted them but no follow up on their part. Almost a year after they finished, one of their guys came by, looked at it and promised to send someone over but that never happened. I called, left messages and texts but he never responded. I gave Shaw a deposit 4 weeks ago for $4,500. first week i was sent a picture of a copper sink and was asked if I liked it, i sent back a confirmation that I liked the sink and never heard back from their designer. we even had to call to see when they would get started, they had to get the contractor to call us back later that day, he said they would get started on August 7. never received a time or any further communication from them, iv'e already made my first payment on the loan we took out for this $15000.00 on this project. I'm starting to regret my decision to go with Shaw, I thought they would keep us informed as to why it was taking so long to do a ceiling pill and painting before the granite was installed. read more

Crew were sloppy and unskilled. Paint overspray on leather furniture, antiues and debris from popcorn ceiling removal also on furniture. That was left for me to clean. They left garbage bin with their food trash under deck which was infested with rats. They left large amounts of debris such as cedar siding stating that they couldn't pick up everything. That also was left for me. They installed doors incorrectly, didn't replace rotten wood as specified on contract, didn't complete work that was on contract, spilled grease on my front deck and carpet mat which they turned upside down to conceal the damage. My shedtrock was damaged from a burglary and that was supposed to be repaired but they just wanted to paint it leaving holes and craters adjacent to the door. They were to seal the soffit and fascia as specified on contract and never done. The windows and trim were not sealed and leaked. They tried to leave with a door that didn't lock and told me it was 'old'. I had them replace it with a functioning lock and it didn't work when they installed it because the door had been installed improperly and causing leaks to ceiling under it. They did not bother to reinstall it properly but just added more trim. I had 3 sets of wood 3 panel doors with screens that matched my oak trim and they replaced them with fiberglass and vinyl that have no screens and were not properly prepped before painting so paint flakes off. I know that they were not prepped because they left labels on all the glass that gave instructions and I read them as I was cleaning up after them. They broke a crystal object which I heard from another room and they denied anything had broken, but I picked up the pieces after they left. They also slopped ceiling paint on my oak windowsills and my fabric wall covering, which again they denied although you could see the stain where they tried to clean up. They dropped globs of paint on my brick exterior that they said was old but was the color of current paint. Lead man was the only one that spoke English and when I expressed my dissatisfaction he told me that he would have his teenage son do the work. I paid over $20,000 for professional work not unskilled labor and teenagers. They left paint rags on my driveway and used pressure washer to try to clean oil debris and damaged my redwood bench by leaving pressure tracks on it. I was never contacted to have the work done that was specified on the contract. The owner did tell me that they were good Christians and that made me grateful that they were not 'bad' ones. I am sorry but I can't find anything positive to say, especially since I was recovering from surgery and dealing with 2 serious health issues, one requiing a lung biopsy during the entire debacle. All my friends and neighbors are in agreement and helped me clean up the mess they left outside. I do have pictures and at least I have been able to get the value of my home lowered for taxes due to their incompetence read more

Stay away from Shaw company. I thought they were professional when this Eric guy shows up to you home in big truck with a big smile. He gives you an estimate, demands you give him a down payment you never hear from him again. He hires subcontractors who don't do work properly and Eric is no where to be found long gone with your money. These guys have terrible customer service and not professional. They didn't actually perform any work at my house. It never got that far since no one showed up for the estimate at the scheduled time. I made an appointment in their showroom, with the owner's wife. When I called 15 minutes past the scheduled time I was told there was no record of me in their system. The person I spoke with on the phone remembers me being in the showroom. While I waited for a call back to see if they could send someone out, I read the reviews and decided to cut my losses and find another company. Nothing but problems and delays with their work. The contractor that they used was more interested in finishing the job than making sure we were satisfied. Bathroom had to be redone due to faulty tile work. Drain was not properly set. Contractor, Juan, sent someone to put an exhaust fan/heater in and they have yet to return to finish. Subsequently, I have a ceiling and a wall with holes in the sheet rock. Not satisfied at all. read more
