Absolutely Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a contractor. The drywall work was sloppy and unprofessional--gouges in the joint compound, visible tape, entire sections missed, and thick, uneven corners that ruined the look of our newly remodeled kitchen. I had to point out spots he didn't even tape! He claimed the painter should finish sanding (not true), and lied, saying the primer would hide the flaws (it makes them more visible). Because of his poor work, we had to pay our painters extra to fix what he should have done right. He was also extremely disrespectful. When I pointed out issues, he reacted like a child having a tantrum--aggressively sanding while I stood nearby, covering me in dust. I looked like I was caught outside in the snow. I paid $2,500 for this nightmare and he told me when I was pointing out the "imperfections," that I was "nit-picking." He didn't put down any protection, and thank God we had tarps in place ourselves. But during his tirade, he kicked up the tarp sending more dust everywhere and all over the carpet. He also tried to float his own boat about how everyone says he is so clean all the time. And the most outrageous part of the entire ordeal? He made a blatantly racist remark, saying, "I hate Blacks and Indians." Absolutely disgusting. On top of it, he was referred to us by another contractor who had completed other work on our home. He was awesome and had impeccable workmanship. This sheetrock guy actually said that his work was sloppy! Some way to treat someone that gets you the job. I highly recommend Shaw Drywall. They were very professional, courteous, responsive - and cleaned up after the job. The job was to drywall after a bathroom remodel involving the removal of a closet and jacuzzi - so involving both the walls and the ceiling. They did a perfect job! Words cannot describe the terrible experience I had with Shaw Drywall! First was the increase in the price once he got material on site. Then there was the mess he left, damage to other parts of the house as he moved material through. The quality of the work was a joke! Most of the screws broke through the paper causing the sheets to be loose and nail pops everywhere. The taping was horrible with wavy corners, bubbles and lots of compound build up since he was too lazy to do it correctly. When I tried to contact him to come back and fix his work he ignored my calls and text messages for over a month. Once I got in touch with him (by calling from a different number) he showed up and after blaming the framer and painter and everyone else he told me to go f*** myself, that he never goes back to fix his work. I had to hire someone else (a professional) to fix his mess. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

I am not one to review companies on line but after using Shaw for the second time I felt like I should. I used Shaw to replace 3 ceilings and called them again to sheet rock my bathroom. Very fair prices and the work was done when he said it would be done. Professionally done, cleaned up and a great price. Give Shaw Drywall a try! read more
