If you know exactly what you want you might be ok, but the sales staff are rude and customer after sales is non-existant. I was sold an expensive part for my Land Rover and took it home only to find I'd been sold the wrong item. I immediately returned with the part and was told by staff that it's company policy not to offer refunds. I told them that their staff had sold me the part only an hour earlier and they then argued the part had been used (on my Land Rover it wouldn't fit?!). In the end I left the part with them and resorted to charging the purchase back on my visa card. AVOID!

I have been ripped off at other garages prior to having a Land rover but never in all the time I have been with Steve have I ever felt anything other than good value for money. In an emergency situation he has always accommodated my car into the garage and provided a courtesy car; never leaving me without transport. He always discusses anything extra he finds by phone prior to starting work when he has it in; he advises regarding how long something will be likely to last and leaves it with you as to whether you have it done on or not. My partner now has a Land Rover too, and he takes his in to Steve too - we wouldn't go anywhere else.

In a day and age where it seems car repairs are all about add ons and mechanics taking you for a ride (pun intended), it's amazing to find a local place that are 100% honest. I took my trusty little Seat in to Church Wharf as I needed to swap out my speedometer (EU form) for a new one (UK Form). They went through the process of taking my car apart, probably a good hour, only to then realise the new part I'd given them was wrong and wouldn't fit. They promptly called me, put it all back together and charged me diddly squat for doing so. After this, they went out of their way to source the correct part, at no additional cost or benefit to them, and made an effort to fit me in as soon as possible to get the work done as they knew I was in a hurry. The truly unbelievable service from these guys was topped off when my total bill came to £90 including VAT. Fortunately, those pesky reprobates didn't count on someone witnessing the incident as well as the guilty party driving away without stopping! As such, with the involvement of the Police and my insurer, I have fortunately been in the position to get the work fixed at zero cost to myself... Step-in Lancashire Motor Bodies, saviour of the hour and supplier of some of the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. True, I didn't have to shop around as they are the preferred repairer of my insurer, but I have to say that I was a little sceptical on first researching them as there were only a couple of aged reviews on the web (not on Yelp, obviously!) and these weren't exactly glowing. Well, my experience was different. On finding them, tucked away as they are in Salford, but only 30 seconds off Bury New Road, you could be mislead by the exterior of the business premises, as it isn't exactly glamorous, but then again, it is a car bodywork repairer! However, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They lead me through the whole process with my insurer, collected my car and delivered a courtesy car which was mine free of charge, phoned me regularly with updates on the work and again when it was finished. They even returned my car, resplendent with new front wing, fully valeted inside and out. I couldn't recommend them highly enough and think they are well worth every one of the 5 stars I'm giving them. I hope you don't require their services, but if you do, they'll look after you (and your car!).

The service was outstanding, excellent job my car went in Wednesday afternoon & was back with me by Friday afternoon, the panel that had been scraped badly looked as smooth, shiny & new as when I first bought the car. Every member of staff was friendly, gave me regular updates & knew what they were talking about. They definitely exceeded my expectations & I would feel very happy sending my car there again.
