We had been to a couple of the others, Biblioasis, and Storytellers...yawn. But you walk into THIS place, and realize NOW THIS IS A BOOKSTORE. About ten different rooms, plus a garage out back...full of new and (mainly) used books. Prices that you can't beat. And a selection that would give Amazon a run for its money. The backroom has an area with some seats and more books to peruse. The overall vibe is cozy and welcoming. It is situated very close to Red Hook coffee shop, so it's an easy stop to make after getting your morning brew.

Little did I know that Flyleaf Literature & Libations would be firing on all cylinders. It was a packed house on both floors including a private party in their meeting room on the second floor. One of the workers was kind enough to give me and my Yelp BFF the lay of the land. He shared that Flyleaf was hosting a Boy Band event with great music playing and lots of patrons taking advantage of their Sunday Brunch offerings. It was very festive and standing room only at the moment. They host various theme events every month. Although I have included the menu, their food offerings change too. They had a great book selection. I was impressed that they had four books featured that I recently purchased. I look forward to returning to kick back with a book on their patio with a pastry or two.

I thought that it would kind of have a soft launch, maybe only have a few items, but there were a good amount of books and odds-and-ends/fun accessories to browse. The selection of books that were nicely organized and priced fairly (love the rescue discount), some used and some new or like new. Lots of popular authors...anyone could find a book they'd enjoy here, but it seems curated especially for book club girlies. There were three cats while we visited. Instead of having resident cats, Purrfiction partners with local rescues and sets the weekend days up like adoption events. The owner, Emma, is very sweet and obviously works hard to create a clean, fun, inviting community space. She has already lined up so many events!

He has a true passion for sharing comics with the world and that attitude is reflected in their business model. Rogues houses a huge collection of comics both old and new, collectible and not, as well as huge selection of geek merch. Get weekly comics? Make an account and expect them to be bagged and boarded and ready to go when you come in. Have kids or go to school? Rogues will give you an free comic for every A on your report card. Geek or not Rogues is a great place to stop by and check out. As someone who recently moved away from the Windsor area. This is one of the places I have miss most.
