ST has some, not all, amazing staff. Those amazing staff members helped my teen understand themself and helped us understand them. While I do not think ST made my child 100% better, it was the steppingstone we all needed to help us with the right continuation of care to follow. As a parent of an adolescent there, it is important to LISTEN to your child and ADVOCATE when needed. While my child may have thought that this was not helpful when they were there, my child makes sure that we know when there is a 5K or an event at ST and insists that we attend. I love that my child is starting to realize that positive impact ST made on them.

Prior to scheduling an appointment for an annual preventative care visit with the Wellness Clinic,…read moreI made every effort to verify that it would be covered by my insurance. After providing my insurance information, I was initially told the visit would not be covered. I called my insurance company, and they confirmed that the provider was listed as in-network and that I was entitled to one fully covered annual visit each year. When I called the office back, the receptionist admitted the information she had given me was incorrect and that her supervisor initially misunderstood her inquiry about my insurance coverage. She said I was correct and it was covered. That should have been my warning sign to not continue. On the day of my appointment, I waited over an hour for the physician to get there. While waiting, I spoke with the nurse briefly. She stated that I would schedule a follow-up appointment before I left (note that at this time I hadn't even meet the doctor yet). The nurse attempted to draw my blood but was unsuccessful, so I was later given a form to go to Quest Diagnostics for them to do the blood draw. I met with the doctor and now the codes that she noted are questionable as she didn't provide treatment or even mention some of the items noted during that conversation. Before leaving they told me the receptionist was ready for me to schedule a follow-up while walking out. I specifically asked the receptionist whether my insurance would cover it. She told me yes and said it would be a Zoom appointment. On the day of that appointment, I had to call the office because I never received a Zoom link. I was then told I was suppose to come into the office before they eventually sent me the link!?! A few weeks later, I received three separate bills: 1. The annual wellness visit that is now being billed as a regular office visit. 2. Quest Diagnostics 3. The follow-up appointment Since the preventative care visit is being billed as a regular office visit, it affected the billing for the blood draw that the provider requested with Quest Diagnostics - my bill for the blood draw alone is $158! The total is $380. I went in for a FREE preventative care visit and now I owe nearly $400?! After receiving these bills, both I and my insurance company repeatedly contacted the office in an attempt to resolve the billing and coding issues. I still haven't spoke to the billing department after I've called and left multiple voicemails overtime. From the the excessive wait time, poor communication, confusion about the follow-up, and the ongoing billing and coding issues, this experience was disappointing from start to finish. I'm currently disputing these claims with my insurance company. Experiences like this are exactly why so many people delay or avoid preventive healthcare. Patients should be able to trust the information they're given about insurance coverage and billing. Providers should be trustworthy. Patients should come first. Healthcare should be affordable. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I DO NOT recommend this practice.

If you are seeking a therapist who you can be comfortable with and trust completely, contact Jill immediately! Like many of you reading this, I, too, was on yelp searching for someone who I could connect to and who would be able to see the essence of who I am through the murky angst I was suffering from. After reading the reviews for Jill's practice, I forced myself to give her a call and was so relieved to get a quick response. I was able to get an appointment and knew immediately that Jill was someone who I would be able to trust and confide in. I started seeing Jill weekly back in January of 2018 (again, she is life changing). Jill helped me to begin to work through so many different issues that I was finding difficulty in overcoming (self identity, parental issues, anxiety, etc.). She allowed me to cry, share my thoughts aloud, let things go, breathe, challenge myself, and so much more. It is because of Jill's understanding and encouragement that I began to heal myself. Jill has so many wonderful traits that I will never be able to put in words for anyone who is reading this review. She allows you to do the work while guiding you through your thoughts and emotions. I felt like an actual human and not a case file during my sessions with her. She is such a grounded, badass woman who has one of the most kind spirited personalities. Jill communicates clearly and in a way that you sure to understand. In short, if you are seeking a therapist, contact Jill Lewis. She is a wonderful human being (seriously an understatement)! If you're willing to do the work, she will meet your commitment tenfold. Contact her now! It will not be a decision that you regret! You deserve to feel whole!

About a year ago, I wrote a review for Jill on here and it was flagged and eventually deleted,…read moreprobably because I hadn't written any other Yelp reviews and wasn't very active on the site.. So here I am, re-posting one, which in itself should help you understand how important this is. Let me try to recall what I had previously written: Having been to many therapists - some when I didn't really want the help and some after I decided I wanted to get healthy. What I've come to realize is that Jill is the absolute best therapist, but ONLY if you are ready to get help. If you don't want to get help and if you plan on lying through your sessions, you won't like her. What I mean by that is she's not dumb and you're not fooling her, even if you think you are. And if you're trying, it's just a waste of money. I'm not saying this from experience. In fact, when I had Jill as an individual therapist as well as group therapist, I was more than ready to be in a better place. I know this because even in my willing mind, it was challenging. I find myself to be pretty well connected to my emotions, how I'm feeling and why, my upbringing, relationships, etc etc..and even still, Jill was able to make so many connections that I hadn't. I felt I knew the ins and outs of how therapy works, and I addressed that with Jill. I questioned what she was thinking about what I was saying and talked about myself as an individual vs myself as a patient. I was able to bring up the topic of therapy as well as all of the issues that brought me there in the first place. Jill's office became a place where no subject was off limits. I know it seems like that is what therapy should be, but very rarely have I felt comfortable enough with a therapist to really open up. As much as I may have made it seem like she's tough, she's also one of the nicest people I've ever met, especially in her industry. I have been in a healthy relationship for 3 years and just got engaged. I have thru-hiked the entire Appalachian Trail last year, and am currently writing this review from the Pacific Crest Trail. I am strong enough to physically, mentally, and emotionally be able to participate in the lifestyle that I love, alongside a person I love - two things I would have never been able to do had it not been for Jill. If you are living in Atlanta or in the surrounding area, know that there is a fantastic therapist that is very missed in New York and who is sure to change lives wherever she goes.. And if you go to her, tell her I say hi :)

My daughter Valentine had been struggling with severe anxiety and depression. She hadn't been to…read moreschool in over two years, was isolated, self-harming, and had survived two suicide attempts. As a parent, it was terrifying and heartbreaking. I knew she needed more support, but I was apprehensive about intensive outpatient programs--many feel clinical and understaffed, and I feared that wouldn't help her. From the first evaluation, Newport stood out. Tiffany, the Program Director, recommended inpatient treatment, but after explaining the trust I had built with my daughter and my concerns about breaking it, she listened. She agreed to let us try outpatient care first--and I'm so grateful she did. It wasn't easy at first. Valentine resisted the program completely--she'd refuse to get out of the car, isolate during group sessions, and even walk out into the parking lot during the day. But her therapist, Meighan, built a connection. That relationship became a lifeline. Slowly, Valentine started opening up in individual sessions, then in groups, and we began to see glimmers of progress at home. What sets Newport apart is the comprehensive care they offer--not just therapy. Valentine had access to equine therapy, yoga, cooking classes, and holistic services like Reiki and mindfulness practices. They treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. By the end of her program, my daughter was no longer scoring as depressed or anxious. She gave a speech to her peers and the staff that still brings me to tears. She became a leader in the community there. And while the road after discharge wasn't perfect--there were setbacks--she had the tools, the confidence, and the resilience to keep going. Today, Valentine is thriving. She's back in school, at the top of her class, surrounded by friends, and fully herself again: creative, funny, sharp-witted, and loving. To any parent who is scared and doesn't know what to do: you are not alone. Newport Academy is a place of healing, hope, and transformation. I will be grateful for them every single day of my life.

Well, I've never written a present-future review, and it does feel odd to be the first person to…read moresay anything. Well, here it goes: We're just starting out (tomorrow's our first official, nitty-gritty session). But I highly recommend Jessica Settle. If I were able to be two additional different people, I'd be able to detail Stephanie and David, but for now, this is where I'm at. Jessica is kind, patient, and human (but smoothly stays behind the ethical line). She allows people to explain themselves through their actions, and is able to name and correct those actions without ... scolding? Like I said - we'll see - this is a rough job (imagine!). But I can confidently say (even this early on) that any lack of marital success following this treatment is no fault of hers. By that same token, any successes (I'm sure she'd disagree) are in great part owed to her. She's an astute and tactful counselor.
