I went to the Musical Instrument Museum today and was super stoked to get a charicature done by Dianne. She was featured there as a part of the celebration for Elvis' birthday. I have always wanted to get one of these drawings but have never gotten one (for whatever reason). She was fast and very friendly. Amazing talent to be able to talk and draw at the same time and be speedy about it! I like the charicature a lot because she captured a little sparkle in my eyes. I have been overcoming some long term health challenges and am just starting to feel like myself again. So this drawing really means a lot to me. It's a reminder that I'm getting well! So I happened to go to an event at the MIM today, and Dianne was doing free caricatures there. Waited probably 15 minutes for her to finish up one and then do two kids in front of me. About 10 minutes per drawing I understand. Over the years, I've had about 5 caricatures of my face done--but the one Dianne did was the best by far for sure! I love the way she uses colors--and you could recognize it was me easily. Saw some others she did, too, and it's amazing how spot-on she can do someone's face. She has a great eye for the humorous details in someone's face. I love mine! Oh, and she will put your picture in plastic, so it won't get destroyed while you walk around. I gently folded mine in my purse, and it was just fine when I got home. This would be a great party event (in fact, I did have one done at a party once in Scottsdale) or as a draw in a bar or restaurant even. Dianne is good--really good! We hired her for our wedding cocktail hour last year and she was phenomenal!!! There was constantly a line for drawings so we asked her to stay an extra hour and a half and that was no problem. We had 120 guests so I wish I would have hired two caracturists but it turned out great. People continue to comment on the drawings much after the wedding. It seemed like it was their favorite part! Dianne is a total professional - she is SO GOOD at what she does! She has created caricatures of both me and my son and then recently for my fiance and I for our wedding invitation. We have gotten so many comments and questions about our wedding invites - and recently - my fiance's brother-in-law had a caricature done of his family for the upcoming holidays - he totally copied us!
