Super fun! Me and my girls just had a day to ourselves, and they've done painting before at one of our other friend's house. So I decided to look around and see what was offered! We did the Halloween painting with ghosts around a bonfire, all of ours turned out different, and I love how they encouraged that. Only downside is I'm a perfectionist, and I was constantly a step or two behind from how long I was taking. A little bit more time in between would've been fantastic! Otherwise no complaints here! I was at a Christmas painting class with a church group - basically the driver for a dozen or so little old ladies - booked weeks in advance. The studio feels upscale, but it's small, and parking is sparse and hard to find nearby. First impression was that they seemed a bit uptight with beginners and stingy with paint and supplies ... but OK, fine. The main issue came as we were getting everyone settled. They'd over-booked the studio with another overlapping group that afternoon, and were also taking participants in off the street! As a result, there weren't enough stations set up to accommodate everyone. Rather than trying to reschedule the new arrivers or otherwise address the situation, they just kept piling more people into what soon became a cramped, stuffy space. Also, the owner/instructor, Dina, was overbearing and unkind. She talked down to participants and did nothing to help them feel at ease in a new experience. A couple of our ladies - pushed off to the side by the over-capacity crowd - are hard of hearing, and asked Dina to repeat herself once or twice. Her response was a curt "Try and keep up ... or would you like a refund?" It was difficult even for me to hear and follow her instructions over the conversations going on in the room. Zero respect and zero compassion for elderly customers just there with friends to have a good, creative time is reprehensible. I was not alone in this observation - a couple of people in the other mis-scheduled group felt the same way. Suffice it to say ... Dina needs to add some humility and kindness - and some basic business sense - to her toolkit. There are several Paint'n'Sip studios in the downtown area. It can be a fun, engaging, upbeat creative experience. Pending some changes on the part of this studio, though, I'm going to suggest strongly that you choose one of the others. read more

I came to Phoenix to visit my daughter over the Thanksgiving holiday, and we planned paint night as an activity for us both to enjoy together. I've been to a few other businesses like this that were very nice but their willingness to create a memorable experience here makes them a cut above the rest... The coffee/wine bar with snacks were right there and convenient making it feel more like a night out package. Our instructor was very clear about how to paint each step, and she was very patient and helping anybody that needed extra assistance. She also played Christmas music and even took song, requests! Above all, I was not rushed at the end and was able to feel satisfied with my artwork!!! Overall if you're looking for great bonding or team building activity like we were as Mother and Daughter, I'd say the laid back easy atmosphere here and paint class activity together is a sure bet! This is the WORST business! Do NOT waste your money! We came down with COVID and just wanted to reschedule for a different evening. We tried calling them for 3 days, and were finally able to leave a message. (Conveniently for them, we couldn't leave a message until after the 48 hour cancellation policy) We were SO looking forward to this and left them a message letting them know that we wanted to reschedule due to COVID. They NEVER returned our call. I got this TEXT a few hours before the class "Hello hello! We received your email. And we received a voicemail yesterday at 3:44 PM, which is not prior to the 48 hours cancellation policy. So we will not be able to issue a refund, unfortunately. Our cancellation policy is stated on the website, as you know." If they didn't have the common courtesy to CALL us. I can't even imagine how bad the experience would have been. Based on their horrible customer service, I would say that it would have been horrific. Go ahead and keep my $150 - it's a small price to pay not have to deal with a small minded, negative business. read more

I can't say enough good things about The Painters Lounge or Dina. I booked for a private event (bachelorette party). Dina was great about getting back to me quickly and answering all of my questions. The studio is super cute with a very cool artsy vibe. There is tons of awesome art to choose from, but Dina went above and beyond and helped us take the bride's idea of a wine glass theme and combined it with a sunset painting she liked. Very creative and unique. She handled a group of drinking bachelorette girls with professionalism and fun. She guided us through the painting with easy to follow directions, broken up by "intermissions" with great music, allowing everyone time to catch up on their portrait, drink, chat, laugh and use the restroom. What a super fun studio for painting! Had a great time at painting and the environment was sooo awesome! The instructor Dina was fantastic as she prepared the small class due to Covid with step by step instructions and she played a variety of music with an upbeat vibe. The positive vibes and energy was supportive as this was definitely not a area of my strength to be painting but I was definitely doing my best.. with all great humor set aside.. my adult daughter definitely knows much more than me, and her work speaks for itself.. We had a good time and laughed as we painted. Everyone in the studio appeared to be extremely happy as well. You are allowed to bring in your own drinks.. we drank before.. that made my painting a bit more challenging.. the other people brought in salads.. and their painting was on point! The instructor was obnoxious. I attended this venue with a group of 12 people. I wasn't painting. But one of the people at my table mentioned that they couldn't hear us over the music. I asked the instructor if she would turn the music down a little. She actually seemed to make it louder. So the people still couldn't hear each other. The music was obnoxiously loud. Although I didn't spend any money that day. I will never spend any money here. I didn't even ask her to lose it for me. I asked her for someone at my table that wanted to engage in some conversation. It was completely rude for her to make the music louder. The music should be background ambiance; not so loud that people can't hear each other. read more

What an amazing experience! My husband and daughter booked a surprise birthday celebration for me at Painters Lounge. There were 16 of us and we all had a blast. They allowed us to bring our own wine, food and cake and the music was great. Dina was a fabulous host and walked us through every step of the painting. I highly recommend this place. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and What an attitude, Her web page says "Plenty of parking" when you get there there is a parking garage that belongs to the apartments across the street, parking is private, we called her and she said "yes park there, its ok" I was going to ask her if she would pay to get my car out if it got towed,,, but before I could get that out of my mouth she said "Do you want a refund". I said I brought my friend there for her birthday and in that case no I didnt want to leave... She defiantly overbooked the place, she offers that you can have food delivered but there's no room to "put your wine" let alone your food that you paid for through her website. This was my first Paint and sip experience and I will do it again... BUT SOMEWHERE ELSE! I dont recommend THIS place. read more

Was very pleased with our experience at the Painters Lounge. We went there with 4 people for a company outing. The owner was very friendly and made sure that we had what we needed throughout the process. The timing allowed for people to go at their own pace in a relaxed atmosphere which I liked- painting is supposed to be fun and relaxing. There could have been a little better welcome when we walked in - the person who greeted us did not know if we had a reservation and didn't tell us to sit down etc. We kind of stood there like idiots for a while. That part could have been improved but all else was smooth sailing. We would definitely go back! read more

This place is amazing. First off, it's located in the heart of Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix. Free parking! The inside of this place is old brick and has a historic feel. The tables are really nice wood and metal and the whole place just feels like you're in an art gallery. The sound system is legit!! Rock out to great music. Dina, the owner, is super chill and makes the whole experience so fun. Lastly, I think my favorite thing about The Painters Lounge is that you can bring your own drinks - anything you want!
