10/10 I LOVED this class. The instructors teaching it were hilarious, and very personable! It was a lot more work than expected, and took some time understanding the process, but they really made the experience so much fun. You get to make as many as you want within the allotted time then choose your top 3 faves. Like the instructor said, be in charge of the clay, and get rid of it if the relationship gets toxic. Also don't let the clay push you around! read more

Wow, wow, wow! I will definitely be coming back to this place again. I bought two spots for their Sip and Spin class for my mom's birthday, and we had a blast! The demo portion of the class was a little hard to remember at first, but the instructors were so nice and came around to help us step by step, ensuring our pottery pieces came out perfect. I also really appreciated how kind and patient the staff was with both me and my mom. We truly had the full pottery experience and were given plenty of clay to mold and craft. What I really loved about this experience is that in three weeks, my mom and I get to come back and paint our pieces! If anyone in Arizona is looking for a fun class to do with friends or just wants to try something new in the city, I highly recommend this art studio! What a great place! My mom and I took an acrylic pour painting class and we both enjoyed it. My dad recently died so it was nice to get out in the world and do something calming. I had purchased the tickets before he passed. I highly recommend this place and their classes! read more

9 of us came for a birthday party! Happy Birthday, Jose! We booked a private class and thank goodness we were in our own room. We were loud, laughing non-stop, and enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to Laurie and Wayne for putting up with us 2x (pottery wheel and sanding down/painting). I am not going to lie, the formations were hard. I killed two bowls (then because saucers) and I needed A LOT of help to get make the other two bowls. Yes, you, your hand, your pants, your shirt, etc. will be dirty especially if your friends are crazy. The demo from Laurie was so helpful but we don't follow instructions well. I super enjoyed the sanding and painting process. It was relaxing and I couldn't wait to see how they turned out. Support local business! Laurie, Wayne, and their family are awesome. read more

A group of us came for a birthday celebration. What a great experience, and all of us couldn't stop laughing throughout the whole session. It was a blast! The initial clay formations were difficult, but the owners were always there to help. You get three clay balls to form. It does get messy, so don't wear clothing that will stain. It was a perfect place to have a group party. The owner's little girl was cleaning after each session. Go support this small family business! I can't wait to return to paint our creations. read more

Sunshine Sunflower Studio is a lovely place to take pottery classes. The female owner is wonderful--warm, encouraging, and very knowledgeable, which made the experience enjoyable and welcoming. The studio itself has a nice, creative atmosphere, and the classes are well run. The male owner was a bit grumpy at times, which took away slightly from the overall vibe, but it didn't overshadow the quality of the class. The owner, and class instructor, Laurie is skilled at the craft of pottery and is masterful in her abilities as an instructor and guide. Some of the classes are easier than others and there's a good fit for almost any level of learner. You're liberally given the freedom to do your own thing and encouraged along the way when things go awry. They also have a diverse sale area, if buying already made works is more your speed. I have some physical limitations and they helped me get around that with tricks and helpful guidance, and flexibility. read more

Had much a fun time here! We accidentally showed up at the wrong studio first but they redirected us and we made it on time. We did a paint pouring class. I like artsy type stuff but I'm not real artistically talented so this class was perfect. The instructor was awesome and gave the directions very clearly and had her kids help the class out too! Everyone's art turned out so cool and I'd totally come back for a different class next time. I liked the shop too, there were a couple things I thought about maybe getting, but didn't end up getting! read more

I went to my first pottery wheel class with a few friends and we all had so much fun! Lori and Wayne are fantastic teachers and really encouraged an environment of fun and creativity over perfection. They definitely let you learn and move at your own pace but are there to help every step of the way. You also get to go back and paint the pieces you created once they are out of the kiln, which is just so much value for the price of a class. 10/10 recommend! read more

I have taken two classes now at this cute studio. It was a little challenging to come in and glaze my ceramic pieces because the hours aren't consistent and the website doesn't post the current hours. I came by as suggested but they were closed. I did pick up a printed calendar at the front door of the hours that month so I could plan my return. Aside from that the pottery class was fun, educational, and they were terrific about everyone's different skill levels. Loved it! Will definitely do it again. We took another craft class yesterday working with glass. Kimberly was great! She was friendly, educational, and just super with everyone in the class. Took my daughter in to make an item for Valentine's Day. They called and said it's ready for pickup. I get to the place that took me 45 min to get to and they have no idea what happened to her item???? My daughter was super upset and we had to go out and find a new gift the day before Valentine's Day. Will not be returning again. read more

The staff is incredible; the instructor was very informative with clay pottery. As first time working with clay, I was nervous. But, the staff at sunshine made me felt welcomed and safe. I had great time there and my girlfriend enjoyed it as well. I highly recommend here, the staff is amazing. It is nice dated night idea or exploring a new hobby.
