i want half an inch cut. Sandy shows more. I say cut it like my last haircut. she cut some hair at my shoulder and that will take a year to grow back. she toned it different without asking. my new hairdresser asked why I have pinkish tones. she damaged my hair I have breakage. 2 hairdressers point this out to me, I did not bring it up. as I have had years of coloring I did not like how sandy slopped the color on. some drips down. very poor. the picture in the blue jacket is me and they didn't do the work. I posted to show the difference. I bought 10-12 hair pieces. they won't refund me cut and color. this is a salon for old people with old styles. there is a new gal in there. did not see her work . I was a customer here for several years. The mother who ran the front desk was a bit elderly and usually mixed up my appointment times and wasn't very nice. But the real clincher was when they had the walk out. Almost all of the employees told me how horrified they were with how they were being treated and they were walking out and had a massive walk out. Many of them went to a competing place in town and I moved over there and never looked back. Definitely do not recommend and just bad juju all around. I even went to two of their locations. This is the only place I go for my hair cuts. I was a patron at this salon when it was located in the Trails. The stylist I used there left and I searched for another that I liked. My wife recommended me to Bill McAuliff at Jack & Jeans (when he & I both had long hair) in the mall years ago. When Jack and Jeans closed in the mall I recommended this salon to Bill and was very glad he joined. The salon has since moved from the Trails to another plaza and recently to this current location. The staff has always been great. Wanda Rutherford at the front desk always knows me when I call and gets me in to the schedule with no hassle. Robert and Mike have owned the place for longer than I have been in the area and it was sad when Robert recently passed away. It is a rare business that you feel connected to the owners and the staff like friends. A tip - do not park on the street as it is very busy. Use the parking lot behind the location. read more

Every stylist in this salon doesn't know how to cut hair and on top of that they behave like children with no manners. These people are no where near professionals treating my mother so poorly. Chopping off her hair and gossiping and laughing at her and ugly attitude was the overall service. My mom herself is a professional hair stylist and walked into a trashy place full of immature people who harassed her just because they could. Overall, this salon is full of bird-brained morons and if you like getting your hair cut by them then your not seeing how poorly they do hair and are satisfied with a hack job. read more

Update: called and spoke to management (Wanda). Absolutely refused to refund me even though I have been a customer for years. Said I would be "lucky to have them fix it" and it was he best option they could give me. Said my hair was "no big deal". Absolutely inexcusable and inappropriate to treat a paying customer that way. Loss of 150$ and I will have to pay more somewhere else to cut it shorter and blend it in. read more

OOOPSIE My original review was on the wrong page(Shear Beauty). I've been going to Stacie Thomas at Shear Dimensions for about a year now. The new location(175 S Nova Rd #5, Ormond Beach, FL ) is wayyy better in every way possible! Here's just a few things off the top of my head that make this place so great!! -Huge parking lot -Closer to a much better variety of shopping -2 great restaurants within the plaza itself(Blau/Tokyo) & Firehouse lol.Blau has a great menu for if you arrive early or if you're always starving like me afterwards.Lets not forget their great wine/dessert list as well because it's fantastic.House made Sangria and a lot of fresh made to order hot teas to choose from.For me,good food/drink on hair day is crucial lol so yes I have to make sure you're well informed as well. B ) -Inside is all brand new and super bright although I say too bright but better then not enough! -Good music is always playing!! -Most of the staff have been together for a while and everyone gets along very well.Conversations can be open among the room or private but everyone knows how to keep the place humming with good vibes. -All very talented stylists and they cover every need in terms of hair(hair extensions,braids,blow outs,color,special events,walk ins etc etc). *What I would change if I were the owner*: -1.Tone down the lighting just a tad.It's a newly constructed place so they are still working kinks out but yeah it's wayyy to bright.Their last place wasn't bright enough so they definitely improved but I myself would like to feel less like a patient in a doctors office lol. It's not a deal breaker but I think most would agree it needs to be toned down a shade. -2.Hair washing stations right in front of bathrooms are way to tight of a fit and to get to the point..bruised shins and possible lawsuits lol. Ok it's not quite that serious but its really tight. I'm 6'1 so I'm speaking from a tall persons point of view but the doors swing out when maybe they need to swing in or what about slide from side side??!! It causes total confusion and it's quite hazardous.I like to be at total peace when getting my hair washed etc and just a simple fix would allow that w/o having to rearrange everything. Summary: 5 star service from Stacie the Hair Magician lol.She's very experienced and keeps up with the latest trends but never forgets the basics when it comes to what will work best for each particular client.She's the type of person who gets along with everyone which I love because it's truly genuine and not just for show.Shes a great conversationalist and really down to earth.Most importantly she backs up her work 100% and will always make things right. Obviously I totally love her lol but the salon as a whole is a great place.You walk in immediately being greeted and there's usually some fresh made juice/cookies to enjoy while you wait.The water fountain is filtered and the bathrooms neat/clean.The place is divided into 2 halves so you're not just sitting amongst everyone like you were in middle school lol.In the end,it's a place I look forward to going to and hope you feel the same one day. After having numerous bad experiences with salons in general, I will say I was hesitant to try another one. However, my hair was in desperate need of cut and styling, so I tried once again, and found an absolute gem! The stylist was kind, patient, and knowledgeable and I immediately felt at ease letting him use his artists eye to make my hair look great again. KUDOS TO CASEY!!!! I wish I could take him home with me. He showed me ways to wear my previously boring hair in new and exciting ways, educated me on products, and had an amazing sense of humor...... very personable!! I got my haircut here once and loved it, then that guy left and the new girl I went to wrecked my hair. I had spent so long growing out my pixie cut and then she gave me "the Rachel" when there are so many cute long-layered med/short length haircuts in style these days. When I called back later that day to ask for a new hair dresser to fix it, they said it had to be the same girl fixing it or they could ask the manager in 4 days if someone new could fix it. It took several hours for Bill to do my hair. He booked more than one person at a time so I had to wait for my service in someone else's chair while he did someone else. I told him multiple times that I didn't want white blonde hair and he ending up bleaching it almost white. He didn't listen to how I kept saying I wanted it. He didn't layer my hair, he just cut it shorter. After all that time and not being satisfied, he charged me over two hundred dollars. Later on, when someone talked to the manager for me, the manger said that they knew that Bill was overcharging and taking way too long. I do NOT recommend coming here. The only reason I didn't go to my regular salon was because I needed to make sure my hair was cut for a special event. I wish I had just waited or cut my bangs myself. I tried to tell myself that my hair would look better after I washed it a couple times and styled it myself, but it didn't. Overall, they overcharge, they don't listen and I will not be going back. read more

My best friend had her hair ruined by Erica and is too nice to write a review , but I'm not . I see my friend struggle everyday from what Erica did to my friends hair . originally my friend gave Erica the formula she wanted her to use for her hair and Erica did the job fine twice , but the last time she went Erica decided to use a different toner I guess apparently because she was out of the other one , without even telling my friend . So my friend went from being platinum blond to a dark dirty blond ( Huge difference )! When my friend saw the huge difference she was upset so Erica offered to " Strip it out". My friend didn't want to "strip " anything out due to the damage it could cause , so she said I'll come bk in a month and hopefully you can fix it . In the meantime my friend called and left messages for Erica to discuss the matter but her calls were never returned ; so my friend goes bk hoping this girl will do the right thing and fix her major screw up for free , but instead Erica uses a 40 volume on my friends hair and it broke off everywhere ! And to top it off she only offered her a small discount if she promised to never come back ! The two salons after that would not touch my friends hair because of the damage . Now she has to buy and use hair extensions to cover the broken bald spots ! It's just not right and that is why I'm writing this review. read more
