I have been a client of Shear Excellence for several years and have always had excellent service first by Bridget the owner and now by Jenn F. It is often hard to find a stylist who really listens to your wants/needs and follows through and I have been so fortunate to find that here at Shear Excellence with Jenn. She is an amazing stylist and I always leave feeling so uplifted and pleased with my hair. The salon offers many spa services, as well- facials, massage and waxing. I do not recommend this salon. When I arrived for my appointment I had to wait while my stylist finished their customer. Ok, that happens. Then I had to wait with my head hanging over the sink with conditioner on my head while my stylist helped another customer refresh their style. Conditioner does not need to stay on that long. Then my stylist dried my hair for a dry cut. I've never had a stylist give me a dry cut before. Then my stylist, the only one working had 2 more customers come in and sit right in front of my chair staring at me while she worked on my cut. Needless to say, I didn't like the job they did on my hair let alone the poor customer service. There were so many empty chairs in the big space I know why. read more

Avoid this salon (especially, stylist Hannah) I am absolutely blown away by the outrageous way that I was treated by this salon, especially by the stylist Hannah. (Short Version: Hannah's customer service skills are very lacking. She is a fabricating liar. Instead of apologizing for what the salon did wrong during my appointment she flipped the switch. She blatantly lied and falsely accused me, her client, of wrong doing). I went to Shear Excellence Salon for the second time yesterday. I bring my own products to my hair appointments (which has never been a problem with any of the other salons that I have been to). I have trouble with my hair and have spent a lot of time and money finding the right products that work well. Of course, I don't ask for any discounts for bringing my own products. I still pay full price... in-turn saving the salon money, which should be seen as a good thing. I am discreet, I don't make it obvious to other customers that I am not using the salon's products. Yesterday, I went to Hannah for a root touch up. After she applied the color, she had an an assistant wash my hair. While the assistant was washing my hair, I asked her if she needed me to lift my head so that she could rinse underneath my hair. She said no. After washing my hair the assistant then started blowing dry my hair. As she was blowing it dry, I could tell something didn't feel right. When she stepped away to get a hair clip, I felt the back of my hair and underneath felt all sticky. I went to Hannah (as she was working on another client) and gently tapped her shoulder and kindly said to her "I am sorry to bother you but there is still product under my hair." She said ok, we will rinse it. So, Hannah re-rinsed my hair, finished blowing it dry and styled it. I then paid and gave her a 25% tip. After I left, as I was driving, I touched the temple of my hair and it felt sticky. So, I called Hannah and told her that my hair color was ok but other parts of my hair were also sticky and not completely rinsed out. I asked her, if it was ok, could she please make a note in my file that I would like for her to be the only one to wash and style my hair. She said she would. Today (to my surprise) Hannah called me (with a rude and condescending tone), to inform me that she got into trouble for using the products that I brought in yesterday; that I would no longer be allowed to bring them in. She also informed me that I should be thankful that she used an assistant yesterday; that it was a privilege. She then told me that for me to have her wash my hair that I would either need to be her first client of the day or she would refer me to a lower level stylist. I told her that if it was going to be that much trouble, I would find a different salon and hung up. I was very upset with her rude and condescending tone, especially since I was very nice to her, and her assistant, during my appointment. So, I called her back and said I was upset with her saying to me that I should be happy that the assistant washed my hair and that it was a privilege. I told her that the assistant did not do a good job and asked what is more important her customer or her assistant. She then flipped the switch and said that she would not allow me to talk about her co-worker that way (fabricated lies...I did NOT say anything derogatory about her assistant, I only stated facts!... that she did not do a good job). She then said her assistant was more important and hung up. I called again and asked for her supervisor's name. I was so upset, I didn't think to ask when her supervisor would be working. So, I had to call again. When I called to get her supervisor's hours Hannah accused me of speaking to her rudely and when I said I was talking to her the way that she was talking to me; she then said "So now you are threatening me?" (more fabricated lies... I did NOT say a single threatening word to her!). When I asked how I threatened her and what I said that was threatening, she could not respond. So, I hung up. 20 minutes later - a different employee (Kaley(?) from the salon, CALLED ME. She asked for my email address and informed me that is how the supervisor would be contacting me. When I said no, that the supervisor could call me, she said they would then be blocking my number (Wow! when she was the one that called me!) I feel management of the salon (Hannah's supervisor, Bridget) is also responsible... to allow employees to treat customers this way. Unless, you want to be treated with disrespect and have lies spewed upon you, avoid this salon. read more

DaShae is Amazing and got my dry hair soft and lovely again. I cut a lot off of my hair and it made me nervous.
