I recieved a groupon as a gift and this is one of the best reflexology and Sweedish massage I've ever had!! Working on cruise ships I've definitely been spoiled with good massage therapists, but Allison here at Shear Perfection is top notch! The spa itself was clean the music was soothing they abided very well to Covid rules and restriction! Currently no one else is in there so it was extra quiet. Got my second haircut by Sara here, and nothing but rave reviews. Not only did she cut my curls into a super flattering shape, she didn't remove more hair than I was willing to part with! She listens to what you want and asks for feedback as she moves along, somehow both super confident and super teachable/humble at the same time. I had a terrible experience at this salon. I came in as a new client requesting blonde ombre Balayage coloring in my naturally light brown hair. I provided the stylist 6 similar photos showing her exactly what I wanted and I explained to her why I wanted those things; to hide the gray around my face and for low maintenance. The stylist told me her whole life story which included several stressful situations that she was currently in the middle of. The she left in the middle of coloring my hair and someone else had to finish it. Needless to say it came out orange all over. The next morning I called in and the daughter of the owner was nice enough to reschedule me to have it fixed for free. After the stylist pushed my new appointment back a half an hour, she showed up late. In an attempt to fix my hair she turned it brassy yellow all over. I received no blonde highlights around my face or in the ends, as I had requested, nor did I keep my naturally brown roots as is customary for ombre balayage. She dyed my hair yellow the whole way to the roots. Her attempts at a very trendy hair coloring style failed miserably both times. I just don't feel she had the skills and she should have stated so when I made my request. Not only was the hair coloring terrible, the customer service was worse. Per industry standards I gave the salon very speedy notice of my displeasure and gave them the opportunity to fix it. After they failed twice I no longer trusted their skill set and requested a $156 refund. The owner adamantly and very rudely refused to give me my money back. She values money over customer service and her reputation. Now I can't afford to have it fixed. read more

I have been looking for a new go to place to get my hair done since moving to the area, and I think I found it. I had decided at the last minute to try and get a quick haircut somewhere, and Ellen was so sweet and worked me into her schedule. The salon itself is inviting, relaxing and super clean. Ellen listened to what I wanted, offered some suggestions and walked me through everything she was going to do. She did a great job cutting my hair and even gave me some loose curls at the end, which look super cute! I already scheduled a follow up appointment to get color done - can't wait! read more

Went to Shear Perfection with my sister for massages. Staff was very professional, friendly, and accommodating. The décor was beautiful. Very chic and elegant. Our masseuse was amazing!!! I have to admit when I laid eyes on her I was a little leery that she would be able to penetrate my muscles with the intensity I like, and I was pleasantly surprised. Although I didn't receive other services the pedicure area looked very enticing and I saw a few hair customers leaving and their hair looked great. I will definitely be returning. read more

I am so surprised that I'm leaving this review. I had a hair service here about six weeks ago and loved this salon. When I saw a groupon for a massage I was very excited to try! It was by far the worst massage I've ever had. I explained to Tonya that I had a large knot in my left shoulder blade causing neck and shoulder pain. I left there with the same huge knot! My 55 minute Swedish/deep tissue massage and 20 minute reflexology did nothing to my shoulders. How could this be? Cold lotion applied to my back (not the bio freeze she had used in neck) was uncomfortable but not as uncomfortable as the extremely cold put on after the heated towels that actually made me say oh my god! All I could think about during massage was when was she going to make me jump again? And when is she going to work on that damn knot! I finally asked and she said she was going to do so more stretching in my neck. This never went near the shoulder blade knot and when she told me the massage was over I had mixed emotions. I wanted to leave but I wanted the relief that should have happened. I wasn't offered any water which also surprised me. Any good spa always has a glass of water ready after your massage. After dressing I debated whether to share my feelings with Tonya and I did. She suggested a chiropractor or doctor, and she said she tried but my problem with that is she didn't work the shoulder blade area to get to the knot there! I have to add thaT I have had great massages that have always gotten the stress and knots out of my shoulders. read more

I have been to Shear Perfections 5 times. I get a hair trim, color and highlights. I am very peticular with my hair. Usually anywhere I go, I ALWAYS leave, being dissatisfied with something. I found the stylists at this Spa are extremely nice, and professional, with that personal touch, listening, and using their knowledge to give you the exact cut and color you are looking for. I CAN'T WAIT to try their other services! I will never go anywhere else, and I HIGHLY recommend them! read more

I purchased a Groupon for color and a haircut for $39. I was told when I called to schedule that I may be charged an extra $25.00 if extra color would be needed for my hair. I agreed and made the appointment with Tracy. I ended up being charged an extra $50.00. There was nothing special done to my hair that I was made aware of, no foils, highlights, etc. It is a simple brownish red color that they were able to match to a swatch. It was basically a root touch-up, as my hair is already that color. It was not explained that there was anything extra being done other than adding some "drops" to bring out the red more for an extra $5.00 which I agreed to. My hair is medium length, just past my shoulders. It has long layers that needed to be trimmed and evened out, nothing complicated, but when trying to style my hair the day after my appointment I noticed my layers are even more uneven then when they cut it, so much so that I will have to have it cut again to fix the layering. So with the extra charges that seem to have no basis and the bad hair cut, I called them. Jill, who initially told me about the possible $25.00 extra charge and scheduled my appointment, answered and told me that she didn't really know what the extra charges would be when she mentioned the $25.00. She said she would have the owner call me to discuss it with me and at this point I am waiting to hear from her. I'll keep you posted on that. read more

Save your money for a salon who deserves your business! I recently had an appointment with Linda, a supposed great stylist, I informed her that I needed a certain hair color. The color was not suppose to be anything out of the realm of "natural" per my job. The stylist said not a problem, she would do her best to make the color work. I said fantastic! Just as long as everything looks good I'll be happy. Well once the incredibly rough hair coloring and washing was done she turned the chair around to then say "it's not that bad". Really? Is that what a stylist is suppose to say once a hair job is done?! Well once I got home and was able to fully look at my hair. I noticed how awful my color job was. My roots were bright red while the rest of my hair was an brownish-red which I had asked for. The hair color was also all over my face. I have gotten my hair done before and have had my face be free of hair color. Anyhow, I called the salon to speak with the owner to inform her, Deb, about the experience I had at her salon. And in short words she pointed out how I purchased the deal from Groupon and how I didn't pay "that much" and how I should pay for the next appointment to cover up the mistake they had made. I'm blown away by the treatment I was given by the staff. I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend this salon to anyone. I cannot believe they treated a new consumer like that. I was trying out this salon because I am about to have a wedding and have my bridesmaids/mothers/entire wedding party be prepped there but not anymore. They claim "they love what they do" but during the whole appointment I had to get the conversation going the entire time. Since when does the customer have to start the conversation. The employee should keep that going. You can take this advice or not but I would never go. In fact I believe the BBB should have some input into this horrid salon. If I could give this rating a zero I would. Safe your money everyone! read more
