I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. This was my first visit to this salon, and I came because I researched reviews and was excited to get a few services, which I never do for myself. All services were booked through Polished Salon on Phorest. I specifically asked for callus removal before and during my pedicure on my first visit, the young girl who did my pedicure replied " oh yeah! definitely! we've got an hour an a half!" but it was not provided. Instead, I was told to come back the following week, and they ended up doing an entire keratin treatment to remove my calluses. When I asked the front desk staff why the callus removal treatment was not performed during my first visit, the front desk staff replied, "I don't know." I booked a brow lamination service expecting professional results and clear communication, but the service did not turn out as expected. After my appointment, I noticed issues with the lamination and returned to the salon several times in an effort to have it corrected. Throughout the follow-up process, communication was very frustrating. The technician was difficult to reach, and when I contacted the salon with my questions and concerns, I was told she operates as her own separate business and that they could not help with concerns related to her work or clients. Since I booked through the salon, it was disappointing to feel that no one was willing to take responsibility for helping resolve the issue. The experience quickly became overwhelming as this was my FIFTH time back within one week, I was given answers such as "I don't know," and I felt the front desk had essentially told me I was on my own. I specifically asked the front desk staff to help me and provide answers; I never demanded a refund. I also apologized to everyone in the waiting area as I began to have a panic attack. I was sobbing so hard I could barely catch my breath. Another customer at the salon kindly stayed with me outside for about 30 minutes until I calmed down. I also reached out to the salon owner to share my concerns, but instead of feeling heard, I was described as causing a "commotion" and "aggressive," which was hurtful given how respectfully I had tried to address the situation. The technician did eventually refund the cost of the eyebrow service, but only after offering to redo my lamination for the 3rd time in one week (not healthy or safe) multiple return visits and a significant amount of time and effort on my part. During my last visit, she said she had "done a lot of work" on me and explained that my brow lamination was more of a "straightening" of my brow hair. My brows are naturally straight, so this would not have been necessary. I wish that had been discussed before the service or at my first follow-up, not after five visits. If my brows were not a good candidate or the results were expected to be limited, I should have been told upfront. While I appreciate the refund, it did not make up for the repeated trips, poor communication, and emotional distress. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business, and I hope my review helps others make an informed decision before booking. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I paid for $700 Botox services and did not receive the promised results. After noticing the lack of effectiveness, I contacted the business multiple times to address the issue and seek a resolution.(called at 5, days at 10 days and then seen at 14 days) At 14 days I was given 5 units and paid for 4 more units. Despite making several good-faith attempts--including returning for follow-up visits--the customer service was poor and dismissive. My concerns were not taken seriously, and I was ultimately refused any corrective treatment, refund, or reasonable explanation. The response was " You are full of drama and do you want my lawyers phone number?" $700 for Botox is a good amount of money to not have satisfactory results. Botox is a medical aesthetic service that requires accountability and professionalism. Unfortunately, this business failed in both treatment results and customer care. I would not recommend their services to anyone expecting ethical practices, proper follow-up, or responsibility for outcomes. read more

They call and insist you buy products before your appointment and call repeatedly then get POed if you don't respond. I was at work, out of town for a week and they basically left me a nasty message on the phone and said they would no longer call me. Left a note I had to prepay for service. Went in to have the facial done only to be told at the end it would be more than double the amount that the ad portrayed. Conveniently enough, the ad is gone from the day that I booked it and I had to pay. So folks!! DONT go there, go to Revived Medical Aesthetics because they would NEVER do something like this. The only bright spot from our visit was the work of our masseuses for our couples massage. Other than that, we experienced confusion over our scheduled time (Received two different times) and confusion when we were there over who was doing our massage. Finally, and most concerning, was the fact after paying cash, we were called later to say there was a problem with our charge?!? I went to polished day spa with one of my dearest friends as a birthday gift to me from my husband. We were taken to our own changing room with lockers, given robes and sandals and settled into a relaxation room. We had the togetherness package which included a body scrub and deep lotion, massages, custom facials, a delicious lunch, all the wine we wanted, manicures and pedicures. I felt very Boujee and like a queen. We were truly pampered from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Everyone there was so nice, it was very clean and well decorated. Spent a girl's weekend in Hersey and decided to plan a spa day. We decided to go with Polish Salon & Spa based on the reviews. When we arrived were greeted by a gentleman (unfortunately his name escapes me) who during our entire visit (4 of us with strong personalities) treated us with kid gloves. He immediately took our coats and asked what type of beverage we would like (tea, coffee or wine). Yesss...I'm liking him already. We had to complete some paperwork and was then was escorted to the Zen room. We each sat, drank and chatted away until it was time for our appointments. We all were taken about the same time for our treatments which was good. I went with the deep tissue massage. My masseuse Christine was awesome. She ask me if I had any questions or any areas that she wanted her to work on. I explain my aliments which were my calf's and the heels of my feet from my workout in the gym. Christine worked on those areas and gave me suggestions on things I could do at home to alleviate some of the pain. She spoke only if I had questions which is what I like and was professional and caring. She made it a wonderful experience. I'd give 5 stars but for one thing, and it's something that I've also noticed with other spas, not just this one: Receptionists, PLEASE pay attention when a customer is making a booking for a service. DO NOT MULTI TASK when talking with a customer. Give them your full attention. I made a booking for three services and they entered the wrong one for one of them. When I tried to correct it a couple of weeks later (I saw the incorrect service listed when I confirmed appointment via text), I was told that service was not offered on the day I had booked the other two services. I was very clear when making the appointment over the phone what I wanted. I suspect the person I was talking to was not paying attention. Otherwise, this is a great place. read more

The wife and I did a couples massage today. All I can say is WOW. The atmosphere was very inviting and relaxing. The massage was amazing. We both are so relaxed and rejuvenated after receiving our massage. Definitely will be back again in the future. Rude owner, poor communication and unwilling to help with my concern. I fully admit what a random mistake I made buying a gift card from this Polished Spa instead of the one in my home state of NH! It took the person I gave the gift card to almost a year to find time to use it and when she did, that's when she realized it was for the wrong spa. We certainly couldn't jaunt the 424 miles to Pennsylvania from NH to use the $100+ gift card, so I called Stacie. No reply. I emailed. No reply. Emailed again - you guessed it! Not until I mentioned writing a poor review did she rudely reply asking me to explain why it took me so long to tell her about this mistake. No empathy, no compassion. Now, I'm reasonable. This was my fault and such an admittedly dumb mistake. Had Stacie called me, apologized, empathized that life is weird sometimes, or acknowledged me in any way, I would have accepted it even if she couldn't help. But she didn't. She ignored me and when she finally replied was rude. Very unprofessional - avoid just based on that! read more

Polished was recommended to me by my dermatologist's office when I was looking for an esthetician upon moving to the Hummelstown/Hershey area. I have been getting medical grade peels for over 30 years working with only 2 practices when I lived outside Harrisburg. Very happy I made the drive from the East Shore. My esthetician, Lindsay is great. I have been pleased with her thoroughness, focus on my needs for aging skin, and recommending just the right products. The product lines they carry are very good - I'm using Epionce and Dermalogica - and am very pleased. In addition, I have had treatments that included microdermabrasion, anti-aging facial and chemical peels. Highly recommend Polished. read more

My husband and I traveled two hours to get to this SPA; I had the contour Wrap. Let me just say, these people go above and beyond any business I have ever visited. I had an incident with one of the products after I got home, I called them, the therapist called me and then the owner of the company called me. They went out of their way to make sure I had all the resources I needed to heal. My money was refunded, and they checked on me multiple times to make sure I was okay. The atmosphere is relaxing, the people are friendly, and the owner knows exactly how to run a business & treats her customers like family. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I would not recommend Polished Salon. This has nothing to do with my stylist even though there were problems, she tried to work through them; my major issue is with the owner. I had an appointment to color black roots to purple ends, and it turned out to be black roots to brown ends. I left with a wet head due to running past the time anticipated and needing to get to work; I was at the salon from 8:30 to 2:30 and said that I needed to be out by 2:15 when I originally scheduled the appointment. I had called and complained to my stylist after my hair had eventually dried and it looked nothing like purple, I had thought maybe it was just me or the lighting, but then others have even said about it not even looking purple. It looks like a dirty brown, not even a hint of purple, so of course I'm upset because it's not what I wanted. I would have been fine if it had just a hint of purple, but it doesn't. So, I called in and asked for a partial refund; I then talked to my stylist on the phone, and she said that they could redo it for free which I was fine with since Stacie, the owner, wouldn't do a refund. I honestly just wanted my hair fixed! I had sent a picture of the color I use on my mom and sister and said I wanted that since it was very similar and she said okay. I know with this weird color on my hair it will turn out darker, and that's completely fine but at least it would have a purple tone and not some nasty brown! Today I had an appointment at 10 AM for the correction with my stylist. I was on my way to the shop and happened to look at messenger, and my stylist sent a message saying that they wanted to charge me for the product per the owner. First off, they should have told me this days ago instead of telling me it would be free of charge to fix their mistake; I find it ridiculous.  I was not asked previously what was on my hair before I came into my appointment or anything. This was not my doing, so of course with them wanting to charge me more today for them to fix it, I said no. I feel that this is their fault, and they should be fixing it for free as I was an unhappy paying customer that specifically discussed my expectations before the process. I do understand that things do not turn out as the picture you may bring in, I went to cosmetology school, so I know how this works and usually in the industry you always want your client to leave happy, unfortunately they don't know that motto. I will never be going here again. read more

Polished is the most professional cleanliest spa in the area. Monthly IPL, lite chemical peel and dermaplaining have dramatically improved my skin. Recently I did an aqua gold treatment with Dr H. I will definitely be doing that again as well. Josephine was able to do removal on a botched microblading. She is also doing my lip blushing which is beautiful too. For facial treatments, I wouldn't go anywhere else in the area. read more

I've been going there for years and only had one problem, that was caused by miscommunication and over scheduling. My session was rushed and I was overcharged. However I called and they apologized and were willing to pay me a small portion back. After hearing about this place a few years ago, and never having a free moment to go, I finally made the time. Let me tell you, it was worth it. I treated myself to their signature pedicure and a "Gellish" manicure. Upon entering, I was invited to sit in one of their many comfy chairs, and was offered a complimentary glass of wine (they also have soda and water). Not a bad start to a my experience! The manicure was first, and the woman explained everything she was doing, since I'd never heard of Gellish before (it's a gel polish that sets instantly and lasts for up to 3 weeks), and she took her time to make sure there were no bubbles or smudges. Next was the pedicure. Oh my goodness, the massage chairs there are absolutely wonderful! I practically fell asleep! The same woman who did my manicure also did my pedicure, and she did a great job on my toes as well! It was painless, my feet are smooth, and the polish went on just right! I will definitely be coming back here, and I'm looking forward to trying some of the other services they offer. read more

The experience wasn't bad, but not worth the price. It cost essentially $30 for a manicure that consisted of: a base coat, two layers of nail polish, and a top coat. Wasn't the most even application (spots on my nails weren't completely covered), and it was significantly chipped after one day of work (in a job that isn't exactly even labor-intensive.) $30 at any other salon I've been to could at least be a full set of acrylics. Not just a paint job I could do myself for a tenth of the price. Didn't even do the lotion-hand-massage at the end like literally every other salon. The only thing luxury about the experience was the price. read more

Okay, so it took a lot of thinking on whether I should write this review or not (because awkward, it's linked to me, but whatever. It needs to be said). Two months ago I got a Brazilian Wax here and she continually double-dipped the popsicle sticks. Actually, the only time she did the sanitary thing and throw them away after use was at the very end. In their defense, I think I got the girl who doesn't usually do waxes, because when I checked in it took her a while to find my reservation, and she said "oh, she doesn't usually do them!" So yeah, that's gross. I won't be returning. Edit: Forgot to mention she also did NOT wear gloves. I do need to add I also got an eyelash lift here which I loved. The salon was clean and he staff was friendly. I had a 60 dollar pedicure and it was supposed to be and hour and I was done in less than 45 minutes. The tech who did my pedicure did a great job and the drink that came with was delicious. Also-- my gel manicure chipped 3 days later. I had a really good experience at Polished. I came in with one other person to get pedicures. When we came in we were asked if we wanted a beverage; we were offered regular water, fruit infused water or wine. I went with a glass of wine. We were then shown to the polish wall. There was definitely less than many salons I've been to but they had a good range; more colors than I would ever need to choose from (I always go for classic creme colors) but if you like crazy shades or finishes then you might not be happy with the bread of the selection. It was mostly OPI. There was also one brand that was a $5 upcharge that one of the pedicurist informed us of and offered to find us a similar color if we liked one but didn't want to pay extra. They then brought us to the massaging chairs. There were only four chair and we got to sit next to each other. Our feet soaked as we enjoyed our beverages (they even refilled my wine halfway through) and then they trimmed my toenails, cuticles (they asked if I wanted them trimmed) then exfoliated my legs and applied lotion and massaged and covered with a hot towel. They then painted my nails and brought us to the drying table. Overall both pedicurists were very nice and did a good job and everything looked very clean. While not the fanciest salon it was very well done and a decent price ($55) Be aware that services booked online require a 50% deposit. read more

I first went to Polished for a day of pampering, after a recommendation from a friend. My day included a facial, massage, a yoga nidra session, manicure and pedicure. The entire experience was exactly the relaxing day I needed. Everyone was welcoming and professional, and I left feeling fantastic. Polished is now my go-to salon for pretty much everything. I don't live in the area (I am actually three hours away) but I make it a point to at least squeeze in my cut and color when I'm in the neighborhood. Sure, I could go somewhere much closer, but the ride is worth it. read more

I chose to go to Polished because I had a gift card, I usually would elect to go elsewhere. My haircut and highlights are fine. Certainly not the best I've ever had, but certainly the most expensive. I was surprised that a cut isn't included with color. Who gets a color with no cut? I also wasn't told by my stylist that the conditioning treatment she applied to my hair without consulting me would be another $20. She also never offered to flat iron or style my hair after the cut was competed. she just blew it dry and said I was done. I understand the spa atmosphere and related pricing, but $220 later for a supercuts style haircut doesn't seem right. The stylist was very friendly but overall won't be returning because I don't think the quality is worth the price. read more

Danielle has colored my hair from purple to green to red and back to purple again - and my hair isn't destroyed. She's a genius with color and a superb armchair therapist (and does a mean bright pink pedicure too). Mike and Denielle are always pleasant at reception, and offer beverages... *bless you*. My gal Ruby has since moved on to Philly, but she left behind the recommendations of Judy for waxing, and Susan for facials. Just had my first hair visit with Danielle and she was fantastic. I have curly hair and it's hard to find an affordable local stylist that knows how to cut and style natural curls. Danielle is the lady to see! My hair had crazy split ends and the layering was all wrong. She fixed me up and even offered a repairing treatment to add moisture and it was very affordable. The next day my curls looked so amazing after styling at home I'm so happy I found her. I can't wait to try the other services offered here. read more

Loved, loved stopping in here for a "me day" from my hubby. All of the staff were accommodating and friendly. Started off with a facial, it was perfect and Lindsay was awesome. I've had facials before, however, she seemed to be much more in tune with what she was doing and friendly. Followed up the facial with a massage from Christa and she was great. It was an Aromatherapy massage, and she did it great! She also offered some insight to the area as we are new. Then had an awesome sandwich from their lunch list with a salad, although it was a little over dressed, it was delicious. Followed up all of that with my nails by Angelshe was awesome as well. She helped me pick out colors and we had a jovial conversation while doing my nails. The receptionist (not sure of his name) was more than accommodating and does his job well.
