I've given this salon far too many chances over the past year and a half, and I feel it's important…read moreto share my experience so others can make an informed decision. **keep in mind: I am Dominican and I have curly "dominican" hair. I have been getting Dominican blowouts my entire life.** I first went because the salon advertises Dominican blowouts. However, the results did not match what I expected from that service. The blowouts here typically only lasted about one day. I continued returning mostly because it was easy to schedule appointments since it's a one-woman business. After some time she began coloring my hair. While the coloring was initially better than the blowouts, the overall quality gradually declined over time. For example, during blowout appointments I was sometimes not placed under the dryer, which is usually a key step in a Dominican blowout. I eventually stopped focusing on the blowouts and mainly came in just for highlights, sometimes even urging her not to put me under the hairdryer because why bother. Despite consistently asking for bright blonde highlights, I noticed a pattern where the color sometimes came out darker than what I requested on some visits (it seemed intentional). I communicated my dissatisfaction and I was met with blame, unawareness and passive aggression instead. She had to fix my hair two days after coloring and highlighting (with more highlights) causing more stress on my hair-strands since it was done sloppy the first time. Another uncomfortable aspect was that personal conversations I had shared in the salon were later referenced in a way that felt inappropriate to me. After that experience, I regretted sharing personal information with her, but it's okay, what comes around comes back around. I also observed situations where other people's children in the salon were scolded by her, which felt unprofessional in that environment. Overall, the declining quality of the services and the way concerns were handled are the reasons I will not be returning. I hope this feedback helps others decide whether the salon is the right fit for them.

Later she started to trim. I told her I don't like layers, but I did not mean that I want my hair like a sculpture or want to see sign of scissors. So I don't know if she had no time to trim well or something else, I was not happy but obviously she had the leave and I left too. There are orange chemia marks and straught bleach lines ~1 inch from my scalp. The salon said it was my fault because I rushed the stylist (5.5 hours is rushing i guess). They would only refund 95$ of the 500$ charge because that is what they charge to dye roots. I mean..strictly speaking they are right they did not dye my roots. If only they had not dye my the rest of my hair creating a straight line an inch or two away from my scalp then id be in good shape. Not sure how to add photos here but they are on google review.
