The after Photo- wash, & flat Iron

I can't say enough good things about the school. I am so glad I found it. I came on 1/2 price Wednesdays for seniors. needless to say, I will be a regular. The regular prices are good and of course even better when half priced. I appreciated that on Wednesdays, they play old school music for the seniors. A BIG PLUS! Black & Woman Owned and operated-- Another plus. They did a GREAT job with my hair with a wash, condition, and flat iron. The hair came out bone straight as shown in the pictures. Teachers monitor the work of the students so you never have to worry about mess ups. I support the great atmospere and work that was done on me. I also received a pedicure, however, the pedicurist left out the leg message that usually accompanies a pedicure, but a small price to pay for a $7.50 pedicure. I'm going back again and again.

This is a very detailed review since I've been here three times for service. I've started my loc journey in June 2020. Since then I've been here 3 times for a retwist. Each time a different student retwisted my locs and my locs always looked amazing after. I'll leave pictures of each time so you can judge for yourself. When it comes the price, they are very affordable. A retwist is only $35. Yes, $35 for a retwist no matter the length or thickness of the loc and this also includes a wash. They have daily specials so try to go on a Monday for the add another service that's less for free or Tuesday for the add on a select services for $2. They also have barbershop and a full service spa. Also if you have a certain product you like to use on your hair you can bring it to be used. When it comes to covid practices, a mask is needed to enter and during your service. They will check your temperature before you pay for your service. The stations are spaced out so you have 6 feet between you and the next customer. This is my new home for my hair because I know I'm in good hands no matter which student retwist my hair. Also just in case I forgot to mention this is a black owned business.

My job starts in 3 days and I look like a raccoon the way u can see every line. Would definitely NOT recommend stay away from the bald guy with glasses. I walked in a strawberry blonde and walked out with blotches and stripes of red, green, ash and brown. I have to say the girls were very sweet and worked hard to get it right. The problem was the man instructing them. He handled all the dye mixes. Even when the girls and I knew the process has gone wrong, he kept insisting it was just some red in my scalp. I held up strands of my hair with a red blotch at the root, a streak of bleached blonde, and another of copper, and told him that's not scalp. I should have walked out then. Instead I let him mix up two more batches of dye, one to tone down the red splotches and another to tone down the bleachy streaks. You can see the result. The girl next to me fared no better. She kept saying how bright yellow her hair was and asking if it would darken up. The whole thing was a horrifying experience made worse by the condescending and arrogant instructor. If he had even once acknowledged there was a problem, I would have thought it was a fluke mistake. But he kept saying it was fine and that it would tone down after a couple of washings. The girls in the shop knew better. I had strands of hair with hard verticals stripes of colors not found in nature. There was nothing soft and subtle about it. I knew they felt terrible, but it was really out of their hands. I asked one of them if they would walk in to a job interview with this hair ( I have one scheduled), and she sadly shook her head. I hope my experience helps prevent others from making the same mistake. I was betting on the five star reviews, and learned the hard way. Tomorrow I go to a professional design studio to see if they can do anything to repair the damage.

She respectful, pleasant and professional. I get a lot of compliments on hair after visiting the salon but most importantly my hair is healthy and growing. I don't know who is in charge of the playlist but it adds to the vibe. Aveda is an excellent choice for hair care. See you next month :)
