Keep going down the hall until you see the Atlanta CPR door. I've gone here 3 times now, including one session for ACLS. Just had my most recent BLS re-certification here, and it couldn't be more of a breeze. Price for BLS at end of 2019 is $75. You have an e-learning session prior to actual skills check. So give yourself a day or two before you schedule the class. You need to complete the e-learning first, print out your certification and bring it with you. Once you sit through your hour long skills check, you'll get your card on the way out. Easy! Steven is the head teacher, and he's a hoot. Will definitely keep the session lively and entertaining. I was impressed with the tech in this recent session. Everything is hooked up to tablets, the baby mannequins glow when you compress or breathe into them. Lastly, I wanted to note one of my fellow students noted how she tried for hours at work (because that's usually free) but still failed and couldn't get her re-cert. Love love love this place! Ran by medical professionals who understand most are renewing. I love the fact they are open and provide classes every day. Things to know: Give yourself time to complete the online portion of you choose that route. It takes a few hours but it's no sweat and great to brush up on your skills. Arrive a few minutes early. The class I attended started promptly at its start time, I believe it was 9am. They followed with an ACLS course for some of the class so they want to stay on schedule. The BLS CPR card was available right at the end of the class, the staff was quick and had everything ready to go at the end of the class. Finding it is key! Look for papa Johns parking lot and drive towards the back, it's on the second floor, so if you look up you will see the sign and take the stairs to the right of the sign if you are facing it. That was the hardest part, which wasn't very hard. The teacher was informative and friendly and they used a technology on a screen that kept you on beat which I had never seen before and thought it was pretty cool. I paid for the 8-hour ACLS in-class course with the add-on BLS course because I wanted to save money. The course flew by without me feeling a need to neurotically check the clock. Steve is such a fun instructor with some useful mnemonics and amusing anecdotes to help me remember some of the algorithms. He is very patient and makes sure your questions get answered. I cannot believe I knocked out theses 2 certifications without any hassle. THERE IS NO helicopter evaluator here, who silently marks off points as he/she observes your performance. That does not exist here!!! Only light-hearted (pun-intended) encounters, no-sweat environment here! I am pleased and will definitely recommend this center to anyone! Pretty fast class, and the location is not too hard to find - if the doors/stairways are locked off on the Atlanta CPR side of building C, walk around to the front side of the building and you should be able to find a way in! I showed up ten minutes early as advised and at first I couldn't figure out where the instructors were, but just call the number in the email they send you, and they will show up right on time! The equipment they use in classes is pretty fancy, and you get to see exactly how effective your compressions are on the TV screen :) read more

I have had my CPR cert for at least 14 years and this was by far the easiest way to get recertified. The process is in two stages- the at home course and in the office hands on. I was able to complete the online class prior to the hands on...while the online class took me a little while to grasp how it all works, it was actually really good and engaging. Then you show up to the location and you have hands on practice. All in all, the hands on practice took about half hour and I was able to walk out with the CPR cert in my hand! At other places I had to wait for weeks for the cert to be actually mailed to me. My only advise is I found the office hard to locate. While the address is easy to find, the are located in building C, but you need to go to the second floor via staircase at end of building and through metal door. They are on the side closest to where the Starbucks is located. Finding the place is the hardest part of getting your CPR cert, and overall its really not that hard! read more

I had a great time at Atlanta CPR. Steven was very educational and not boring at all. If you had a question or weren't sure about something, he broke it down to very simple real life terms and he is very energetic. I highly recommend Atlanta CPR for BCLS or ACLS. Part one was online and easy for me to complete at my own pace. The skills portion was done in the classroom and the instructor, Steven made it enjoyable and was very informative. I found out one Thursday evening that my BLS had expired and I would be suspended from work without pay until I renewed it. I was scheduled to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday so I needed my BLS as soon as possible. A quick search on Google revealed Atlanta CPR. They offer classes every day from 9am to 10am. I was able to sign up for class and do the online portion on Thursday evening and report to class on Friday AM. It was so easy and convenient I thought I had missed something. The building is kind of difficult to find- it is located in the "C" building directly behind the Papa Johns that faces Piedmont Rd NE. The class itself was a little unorganized. There were supposed to be two staff members present, but only one showed up. There were about ten people in the class and the instructor did not start the class until everyone had shown up, which was around 9:30. Clearly, we were not able to finish the class by 10 am. Since there was inadequate staffing, the active learning fell a bit short as the instructor tried to rush through everything since people had other obligations to tend to and couldn't stay after 10:00-10:30. I, for one, have taken CPR before and am ACLS certified so I wasn't terribly bothered by the lack of active learning experience, but it seemed others could have used a little more attention. The one instructor that did show up was excellent, he was just handicapped by the large group and inadequate help. I gave them 4 stars because they made it so easy to get my BLS quickly and the instructor was so great despite the limitations. I usually feel awkward in these sort of settings, but he made me feel comfortable by being very personable and having a great sense of humor. I would not hesitate to return if I found myself in need of my BLS renewed in a hurry. read more

Awesome class! I was able to sign up for the online course & the one hour skills set at the center. It was very efficient & the instructor Steven was awesome!! Plan on staying a little late, just FYI. But it was super fun & flew by! I'm used to super boring, go through the motions CPR classes. This was totally different; Steven gave us real life scenarios & anecdotes. I find that really helps with the learning process. This class was great. It was simple, to-the-point and informative. The classroom itself was not very difficult to find (TIP: it is in the building directly behind the Papa John's. Once you enter building C using the stairs, it is on the second floor on the right-hand side. You can't miss it!). Anyway, I would recommend this class. They do your best to get you in and out. The instructors don't overload you with unimportant information, and they really emphasize the important details so that they stick in your mind. Great ACLS class! Took the online test and return video demo with scenarios before I came in. The scenarios were really pretty challenging, but you can take this part over until you pass. You do need to know these scenarios/algorhythms for ACLS, though. Just in case it takes longer than you expect, my recommendation would be to plan to finish this portion of the test a couple of days before you have to go in to get the online ACLS skills portion and test completed, as you don't want to have to stay up late the night before to get this online part completed. (like I did-LOL) It did take a good 8 hours to get through this part for me. The in office class was FUN, very informative and not stressful. Our instructor Steven was great, gave many tips and reviewed the algorhythms with some good mnenomics. Class was from 9 am to about 12 noon. Highly recommend this class. read more

The class was tons of fun. I went in expecting to do a full, exhaustive test by myself in front of the group with little review in a high-stress environment. It turns out we did everything together with the same or our own mannequins. The instructor was very friendly and outgoing. The class took about an hour and a half if I recall correctly. Make sure you finish the online course before showing up to class! The classroom was somewhat difficult to locate. Basically you go down the little street by Papa John's, go past the first two buildings, park in a largeish lot, and then go to the top floor via stairs at either end of the ATLCPR's building. You may want to allow an extra 5 minutes to your commute to account for this. read more

The class itself was great. It was short, to the point, and we were out of there in no time. I do have to warn anyone going that the office park it is in seemed half abandoned and a little sketchy. I felt a little scared leaving my car unattended because there were people loitering in the parking lot. Luckily I went with a friend because I would not have felt comfortable being there by myself. To begin with it was difficult to find the place. It is tucked away from behind another building and you have to enter into Building C to be able to find the room, tucked away on the side. Secondly, while I understand trying to make BLS fun and stress-free, disco lights and waving our hands in the air does not constitute as fun and, in my opinion, unprofessional. This is a life saving certification, not something I'm doing to get dance points. The staff was knowledgeable but I would appreciate just getting in and out, and not having a production made out of whole experience. I was hoping to be in and out in 45 minutes, just to do the skills check, but it took an hour and fifteen minutes to get through the whole painful thing. read more

I scheduled to attend a class over the phone and was told to arrive the following day for the 11AM class. Unfortunately, when I showed up 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the class nobody was there, the door was locked and a note said do not knock, no admittance after class begins. After texting with someone about the class they said to wait and the instructor would be there at least 10 minutes before the class start time. Still nobody came. After driving 30 minutes to get there, waiting almost an hour and 30 minutes back to work I wasted an entire morning and never actually got to attend the class. When I called back later in the week to get a refund they said they had a strict no refund policy. Would not recommend due to lack of professionalism, disorganization and not taking responsibility for the total inconvenience I was caused. read more

As many have said before me, this was the best BLS class I have taken! I loved getting to do the coursework modules online and then spend an hour on the skills check in person. Steven is a fantastic, engaging instructor who has perfected the balance between humor and instruction. He made the BLS class fun, and taught it in a way that it would be hard not to hear him and "Staying Alive" in the back of your mind every time you do CPR! He didn't spend a lot of unnecessary time going over extraneous information, which was excellent for a room of adults with already busy schedules. One hour, in and out! Having limited time to renew my CPR certification, I was relieved to hear about this company through my co-worker. They offer classes everyday! Quick, efficient, and fun! Once you sign up online through their website, you are then emailed a code for the AHA website to complete the online interactive learning portion first before coming in to class to perform the skills testing. To note, it's located in the building right behind Papa John's pizza (look for a big "C" on the building). Park in the lot right in front of building C (don't venture to the back of the building, because the entrance is located in the front, all the way to the right, on the 2nd floor. There are no clear signs to let you know where to go, so make sure you know the room number before heading into the building. Once you're in the building, just walk a bit down the hallway, and you'll see the door to the classroom on the right. The hallway doesn't look very attractive and isn't well lit, so just note that you'll probably wonder if you're even in the right place. But hey, once you get there and start/finish the class, you'll be thankful for the no-fuss, efficient course. My instructor was informative, welcoming, and fun to work with. I'll be back the next time I have to renew! But I'm hoping in the meantime they'll update their office environment a bit to look less outdated. read more

Our instructor, Steven, was absolutely, hands down, the most unprofessional 'teacher' I have ever experienced in my life. My husband and I came in to take the 1 hour infant CPR course on a Saturday morning. Already being nervous and anxious, (as I hope to never have to practice CPR on my soon-to-be-born infant) I am 8 months pregnant and don't need to hear how 'WOW YOU'RE HUGE" when I walk in the door from a man I've never met in my life at 11 am in the morning. He was loud, boisterous, rude, inappropriate, shocking, to say the very least. Being a university professor, I have been teaching for many, many years and I love to incorporate lightheartedness and fun into my classes. HOWEVER, there is a line and it should not be crossed. And that line is called professionalism.. Steven's antics ranged from fist bumping my husband (oh, I'd say at least 30 times) and relaying to us that "He knows he's tall, dark and handsome but he swears he's not a gigalo" to LITERALLY informing us that "The deader the baby gets the better because then the food softens up and it will hopefully come right out." ARE. YOU. KIDDING ME. As a previous reviewer stated, he turned the disco lights on and we started pumping the baby's heart to the Bee Gee's 'Stayin' Alive'. WTF The entire process was just shocking and uncomfortable- it's impossible to paint an accurate picture of what that morning 'class' was actually like. The only information I received was when I interrupted his ridiculous tall tales to ask a question and beg him to finish the process of how to give an infant CPR (you know, since that is what we were there for in the first place). And I swear he got irritated at me for for interrupting his lavish tales of the famous people he has trained and the harrowing lifesaving experiences he has been in.....Oh and then he tells us that the Red Cross is full of s*#t and don't listen to them. I would have rather paid the $50 dollars that another CPR location was offering than to take that free 'class' again. Unbelievable....still reeling. read more
