First time meeting Dr. Sage and his team for visit with general anesthesia for our 4y/o. Bother Dr. Sage and Dr. Kim (anesthesiologist) were very informative and knowledgeable! They both made us feel very comfortable and put a lot of my anxiety to rest. Office staff was very kind and helpful! I will be bringing both my boys for regular check ups here now :) The office environment is now very open/inviting as it seemed more dark/drab before. Honestly I was relieved when I got the notice of them changing owners (was able to look up new doctors) bc previous dentist seemed uninviting. read more

Dr. Sage and Dr. Justin just took over Sheer Dental at then end of July 2024. Unfortunately, they inherited all the problems that Dr. Shir (the previous owner) left behind. Dr. Sage has done everything he possibly can to make a terrible situation the best he can. My 8 year daughter has a long road ahead still with Dr. Shir's complete negligence. My husband and I are super thankful for Dr. Sage's kindness and diligence in trying to make this situation the best it can be. The only thing we can do is move forward. Dr. Sage has been patient and helpful in guiding us in our options and so far, he and his office have done the best they can. If you had a bad experience with Dr. Shir, it's worth giving the new owners a try. read more

I'm not sure what her name is but the dental hygienist that did the cleaning on my son has always been so sweet & walks my son through the process of what she's doing. Ive been sending my kiddo here for a while and am just not happy with how the staff treats my child. I dont know if its burnout or what - but probably shouldnt be working with kids if you cant stand them. Dont be swayed by the shiny exterior- there are better pediatric dentists out there. Really disappointed with the care from the staff and dr. Lack of trying to educated parents, and lack of showing they care. I wouldn't recommend and would really advise do to your research, yeah the office looks nice but looks aren't everything. I took my daughter for her visit at 6 months and asked questions about a stain she had and the dr said it was the color of her teeth? I have some knowledge of dentistry as I used to work at a office but still decided to trust her because she's the dr right.. I come back for my daughters 1 year check up and of course the dr said it was a cavity now.. like I thought you said it was the color of her teeth? Mmm. And then! She goes on about recommending getting a tongue tie - mind you I have been breast feeding since day one and never had one issue, I brought that up after to my daughter pediatrician and she even said what?? Like I've been taking her here since she was 6 months why didn't she say anything then it sounds like just unnecessary work to just try and get a check from the insurance. That just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't going to leave a review but what really made me annoyed was I get a call from them today trying to see if I'm going to be coming in and the girls just being so rude on the phone... "oh your not coming then, you got another dr" slightly laughing.. I'm so HAPPY I decided to get another dentist for my daughter. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE. read more

Good: Incredibly friendly staff, TV mounted to the ceiling with cartoons, front office offers games and related items to ease nervous kids. Bad: Google Maps directions are not correct - routed through a neighborhood next door. However this is not an issue related to the office, but rather Google. Overall: I could not have been happier with my experience. I have a 6 y/o that has an incredible amount of anxiety about the dentist following procedure where she had to be put to sleep. As with many other pediatric dentist offices, the front office included toys, games, and coloring books. We arrived about 60 minutes early, so I expected to wait a while, but we were taken back incredibly quickly. They have 3 chairs where the dental hygienists will work with patients and a bench chair for parents who go back with the kids. My child was incredibly reluctant to let them do their work, but they were patient and understanding as they explained the work they would be doing. They put My Little Ponies on the TV that she could see laying down and introduced her to the tools they would be using. They used a portable x-ray machine to take images of her mouth. This was an important feature because we tried to take her to another dentist where there was a large device that required she sit in another chair that was an immense obstacle to getting the images required. The cleaning was largely uneventful. The found a cavity and wanted to apply a sealant to prevent cavities which required nitrious oxide. She did not respond well to this, but allowed her several minutes to calm down and attempt to proceed with absolutely no pressure about how long it took. We had to schedule a return visit where they could sedate her to finish the procedure As we were leaving they gave her a coin to get a prize. She got something she didn't like so they found a key to open the prize box to get a yo-yo she wanted. I cannot overestimate how easy this trip was made. We had struggles, but I expected much worse. I truly believe this could have been much worse if it were not for the staff at this office. read more

We have been coming here for three years. The front office staff is snotty and rude. The doctor loses her patience and tries to tell kids they are not in pain. Why work with kids when you clearly don't have the patience for it. For money...would be my guess. Steer clear, there are much better places out there that will treat you and your kiddo better. read more

Wonderful! I take all 3 of my little ones and they are amazing! Dr. Shir is smart, skilled, and great with Children! My kids are 2,5, and 7 and they feel so excited to go to the dentist. The office is pristine, the staff kind and accommodating. My kids have each had 2 cleanings here and my 7 year old son had 4 cavities. The filling process was done in under 45 minutes!!! I brought my 4 year old in for his first cavity fillings and hoped for a positive experience for him. Unfortunately my son left hysterical. The doctor came in and didn't check to see if the laughing gas had taken effect before they started working. As soon as she began, he started screaming and said he could feel everything. She downplayed his feelings and said it doesn't hurt. She lost her patience on him several times. I told him he would get a toy when it was all over as motivation and something to look forward to, during the procedure she said that if she had to stop he wouldn't be getting a toy because "you don't get toys for doing half the work." When she said they needed to stop and finish at another time, she stopped working and walked out of the room. There was no positive praise for him going through a scary experience, no advice for patient care, she didn't even tell me when he could eat or drink again. As a pediatric dentist, I would assume that she would have had the patience to deal with a scared child. I have cancelled my future appointments, requested my child's records, and will never be back. read more

Could not be happier with our overall experience! How we found them: They had a booth a festival we went to. They were beyond friendly and answered all our questions. They confirmed they took our insurance right then and there. They took the initiative to take our info and reach out the following day. They did just that and had us on the calendar fast. They followed up prior, with great friendliness and detail. Julia has been amazing. The office: Gorgeous, kid friendly, and modern. iPads, Xbox, coloring Netflix, coffee station, youy name it. It was clean and welcoming. The staff just made it better. They were all so friendly and accommodating. The appointment: We got there the day of, greeted with genuine smiles from the front desk crew. We had zero wait. Just as long as it took for me to complete paperwork(via iPads of course). They took both of my children (5 and 6) at the same time and did an excellent job jumping between the two with x-rays and cleanings. We ended up needing some cavity damage control and they offered to get it done right then and there! 2 kids cleanings with, well, we won't mention how many cavities filled lol. The Doc: Dr. Shir was great. She was communicative, and walked both myself and the kiddos through the whole process. She wasn't critical or a mom shaming about a thing. She was down to earth and the kids felt comfortable with her from the jump. We are so thankful to have had such an amazing experience from initial meeting to completed work. We have been to another highly rated office in the area and I wasn't impressed one bit. Sheer Smiles was an 11/10 and I will happily be referring our friends. read more

There is never a long wait to be seen, so anxious and impatient little ones aren't kept waiting. There is also plenty to keep them busy and occupied in the waiting room. We have been coming here since 2019 when the practice was new. Since then my daughter has had 19 cavities filled here over the last 2 years. The last 2 visits she got her cavities filled she was screaming in pain and Dr. Shir gave her another shot, we had not had this issue before when she got her other cavities filled, so I don't know if she didn't let her numb long enough but no one wants to see their child screaming in pain. This past week one of her fillings fell out and we had to go back in and it was one they filled in 2020. Dr. Shir even confirmed that shouldn't have happened. So then we get to the counter after they were done and they wanted to charge me $39 when we should not have to pay anything since it was no fault of ours that the filling fell out. The lady at the front proceeded to argue with me about why we owe that, it's not my responsibility to pay for something that wasn't done correctly. We have spent a lot of time and money there, needless to say I have to miss work every time I go there. If it were important to keep her patients happy and returning and giving good referrals she shouldn't have tried to charge at all!! There are better Pediatric Dentists out there that would do the right thing by their loyal patients. Very disappointed in the way it was handled today. Sadly, we will not be coming back! read more
