From the moment we walked into the office back in 2012 the entire team has made our family feel welcomed, understood, and genuinely cared for. They both have a special gift when it comes to working with children, and their warmth, patience, and kindness shine through in every interaction. What truly sets this practice apart is the way they care for my teens, who one has special needs. Dental visits can be overwhelming and stressful for her, but they go above and beyond to make sure she feels safe, respected, and comfortable. They take the time to explain each step and celebrate even the smallest victories with her. You will not find better Dentists as Dr. Kelli and Dr. Ty. They are absolutely awesome with our kids, they make it fun, informative and super comfortable. Their office staff is attentive, kind and patient. We had a dental emergency where my son hit his mouth on the handlebars of his bike. He had on a helmet but that didn't spare his teeth. He knocked out a baby tooth, split his gums, and cracked 2 permanent teeth. They were able to promptly get us to the back, put him under gas so he was comfortable and relaxed, and repair the cracked teeth. Is it wrong to love your dentist? Ok, not my dentist, but dentist for my two boys (4,6). We have seen Dr. Kelli and Dr. Ty for four years now. They and their staff (hygienists and office staff) have the special touch with children. They do exceptionally well with the kiddos and take all the time needed to explain things to the parents as well. In addition, the have a fabulous kid-focused office in terms of design and activities, and they have consistently stayed on schedule (i.e. not much waiting in the waiting room). read more

Dr Kelli is awesome with kids including kids with special needs. My kids beg me to take them to the dentist! Their office has lots of games/toys. The staff is quick, efficient, and friendly. We never have to wait long and the procedures are done well but fast! Our oldest has special needs and is very touch sensitive around his face. They are wonderful with him and get things done quickly, which he really needs. He doesn't mind gong to the dentist, which is a huge relief for us. Dr Ty is so sweet too. Our experience completely exceeded my expectations. I took our two year old for his first dental exam, and I had been delaying this milestone for months due to MY OWN anxiety. I was fully convinced it was going to be a total disaster. My little guy doesn't do great at other kinds of doctor's appointments, and toothbrushing is still a two person, parental straight jacket ordeal every night. I can't even explain how wonderfully disarming our hygienist was. I wish I had gotten her name. She made my son so comfortable, and showed him all of the tools and supplies she was going to use before putting anything near his mouth. I couldn't believe he actually "opened wide" for her and allowed her to do stuff in his mouth. Magic. Dr. Ty was equally friendly and sweet with my kiddo. They gave me some great information to help me with our home care, while my son happily played in their fun toy room. He got a token to pick out a prize at the end of our visit, and we left we a t-shirt, stickers, and of course a tooth brush. This was such a pleasant experience and I am relieved we found a great practice for our guy. read more

Be very wary of this dental practice. They tout themselves as pediatric dentists who care about your child. I think they care more about money. If you are a parent concerned with all aspects of your child's health including their exposure from unneccesary x-rays, then this is NOT the dentist for you. The practice shuttles kids through the x-ray area FIRST before they even exam their teeth....before a cleaning, before anything! And when I told them my daughter would not be having x-rays, they looked at me as if I had 3 heads AND asked why. Dentists and Drs. need to take a step back and realize their patients don't want to be told what to do, they don't want to be preached to nor bullied into having procedures that are unneccesary. Once my daughter's teeth were cleaned by a dental assistant, the dentist came in to "examine" my daughter's teeth. She told me there was a cavity in one of her molars and showed me where the "cavity" was, saying, "You see where this area is slightly darker than the surrounding area?" I couldn't see any visible difference at all. The dentist then immediately stated she would have to have an x-ray. Well, this is how they operate. You state that you don't wish to have x-rays and they find any excuse to perform them anyway - they need to pay for that machine! This dentist did NOT ask my permission for x-rays, the technicians took my daughter away while the dentist conveniently distracted me in conversation telling me how she needed spacers in her teeth too and she had a small mouth and blah, blah, blah. It all happened so quickly, I felt completely duped at the end. I should have stood my ground and said NO and then NO again and NO for however long it took for them to realize I didn't want my daughter to be x-rayed. I don't even know if they used a thyroid collar on my daughter! After the images appeared on the screen, the dentist tried to convince me there was a cavity - again, there was no proof to me there was any decay whatsoever in my daughter's teeth. At the payment counter, I was asked to sign a document stating the cost of the next procedure - filling 2 surfaces of a tooth AND nitrous oxide for my child. They wanted me to allow them to give my 6 year old child nitrous for the non-existent cavity!!!! I was astounded and laughed right in her face! I told her she had to be kidding! WTF??? Do parents actually allow dentists to give their small children nitrous oxide??? I told them I wasn't signing anything and paid my bill and got the hell out of there before they could try to charge me for breathing their air. The next day, I phoned their office to have the x-rays sent to my previous dentist in another state - someone I trust wholeheartedly and have had a patient/Dr. relationship with for many years. I didn't provide any information to my dentist. They agreed to review my daughter's x-rays. Both dentists in that practice reviewed my daughter's x-rays and found no area of decay whatsoever. Just what I had anticipated. So, in summation; I will never go back to see any dentist from Frisco Dentistry for kids and I will warn everyone with this Yelp review. Loved Dr Ty and their staff!!! This was my son's first dental appointment and they were so patient with him. He's 4 and they explained every step of the way on what they are doing. He wasn't ready for an actual cleaning, so they said to bring him back in a month in the morning so he would be more comfortable and there would be less activity at that time. They didn't charge for the cleaning the first time since he was so anxious, they just took time to make him more relaxed and to show him all the cleaning tools. We returned after a month, and my son was so much more comfortable with them and he actually let them do the cleaning. I love that they took the time to ensure my son's comfort. They took him to the same room and assigned the same dental hygienist. If you are near Frisco and make them work, I highly recommend using them. read more

We've been going to this dental practice for many years. I really do love the dentists. However, this past experience we had; we will never be back. I get that dentists have a protocol and reasons for the ways they do things. However, a mother should never be belittled in regard to a parenting decision, especially in front of their kids. I declined the x-rays which I have communicated on multiple occasions that I am only comfortable with them every other year. The dental hygienist that was pressuring me into changing my mind looked at me like I was the worst mother on the planet and continued to tell me that I was neglecting my children, multiple times. This was all said in front of my children. We were then told we needed to go back into the waiting room. Thirty minutes later I went to the front desk asking what was happening and if we needed to find a different place. After more waiting we were brought to the back for just cleanings and they refused service for the exam by the dentist, Dr. Kelli. During the cleaning I was approached by no less than three more hygienists about my decision not to x-ray with very judgmental comments. Dr. Kelli never came to talk to us and never saw my children. After pulling three kids a little early out of school, taking off of work and racing over there to get them to their appointments to then be treated like this is unacceptable. We have been coming here for years but lately have noticed the customer service is poor. I really feel like this office has gotten too big. We particularly dealt with Vanessa today who was at the front desk. She seemed inpatient and irritated when asked about the lack of internet here. It is really frustrating to ask nicely and be treated like you are a problem and not a valued customer. We will be seeking a new dentist office for our children. read more

My children have been patients at Frisco Dentistry for Kids for almost 5 years now. Dr. Kelli and Dr. Ty are top notch! I would recommend them to anyone and I do! As far as the person who thinks they care more about money than anything else, I have to disagree. They have always been upfront with us about money if we have any treatment that needs to be done. Also, they are very caring and loving toward the children. They also have a game room to keep the kids entertained while waiting to be seen and show movies to the kids during treatment. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Ty and the entire staff at Frisco Dentistry for kids. After a very bad experience at another local "kids" dentist, we are so blessed to have been referred here 3 years ago. Their office is so kid friendly and they are just as patient and wonderful to the parents. Dr. Ty is out of network for our insurance, but it is 100% worth the extra deductible we pay.
