Got some dishes to try for the weekend! Been seeing this on Doordash for awhile so we finally bit the bullet and got some. Biggest pro to Sheesh Mahal is the price point. Everything there is pretty affordable and the portions are decent too. We got the butter chicken, tikka masala, spiced rice, chicken paratha, and beef samosa. Off the bat, the paratha and the beef samosa were a little bit on the drier end. The curries were decent though! I think the butter chicken was the better curry out of the two. Tikka masala could do with a little bit more flavor. Spiced rice tasted great with the curries. It's a good place if you're looking for a decent meal at a good price point! read more

I am not understanding the reviews saying there is no flavor in the food because my order was PHENOMENAL. There is truly a sense of adventure when trying new Indian dishes. I took that leap of faith tonight and tried the Tawa chicken for the first time. Found the dish to be rich and aromatic, thanks to the combination of spices, garlic, pepper & concentrated tomato with large pieces of onion and bell pepper. Additionally, I tried the Aloo Palak - means potato in a spinach sauce. It has a lovely savory completion and pairs well with the Tawa chicken. I decided to skip the rice and order the garlic naan, which came with a small side of mint chutney. Slightly sweet with a refreshingly floral mint. I chose to order takeout and have never dined in before. The order arrived quickly and was still hot. 12/10 on flavorful boldness & quality ingredients! It's a decent sized dinning area that is suitable for groups and they have a pretty nice sized menu to cater to different tastes between bbq and grilled dishes to the traditional gravy based ones. For myself visiting from DFW, the prices seemed more than reasonable. The staff here is really nice and service is attentive. The complimentary green tea was a nice touch. The food was pretty good. Coming out hot and fresh. Our group felt the mix chaat could use a touch more tamarind and the biryani could be a bit less spicier. The shami kabobs, chicken and beef were fantastic and the beef seekh kabobs were great. We enjoyed everything and would be happy to return. read more

First time trying Indian food and I loved it! Really liked that you could choose the spice level as well!

I've been to Sheesh Mahal four times, always with friends who enjoy it, so I really tried to give it a fair shot. Unfortunately, it's just not for me. The rice always tastes dry and stale, and the curry meats are bland no matter the spice level. One thing I don't like is that rice isn't included with the curry -- you have to buy it separately, and it only comes in a large portion. It would be much better if a small, single-serving portion came with the curry by default. For the price, it feels overpriced. The naan is probably the best part -- it seems fresh, but the flavor is underwhelming. I can see why some people might enjoy it since the options use simple, familiar ingredients like Nutella, garlic, or cheese -- flavors that sound good with bread, but in reality, it's just mid. On a positive note, the staff have always been nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. But overall, the food just doesn't live up to expectations. If you're new to Indian or Pakistani food, this might seem okay, but for me, the flavors just aren't there. After four visits, I'm done. Hopefully they improve, but I won't be going back. read more

No other Indian and Pakistani restaurants come close to the quality of Sheesh Mahal's. Sheesh Mahal is a little Indian and Pakistani restaurant located on North May in OKC. The facility is spotless clean and the service is as equally awesome. Best of all, the food is incomparable. Everything I've tried at the restaurant are delicious from the beef samosa to the chili naan and the butter chicken. I can conclude at this point, you won't be able to find another restaurant with better naan bread than at Sheesh Mahal. There are so many varieties to choose from making your options endless. The same could be said about the rice as well. The butter chicken is one of the most delicious and creamy dish I have tried. The best part is the chicken, it just melts in your mouth. It's buttery smooth and goes great with the naan bread. I am so impressed with Sheesh Mahal that I've ordered the chicken tikka masala with masala rice to go. The other impressive highlight about Sheesh Mahal is the cost of the food is very fair. I cannot wait to try the chicken tikka masala. Not on my typical places to dine but I was taking a coworker out to lunch and this was his choice. Interesting! I met him there and he ordered the Naan Cheese Raisin - I was pleasantly surprised! Scanning the menu I was somewhat lost as to what to select. I choose the Beef & Lamb Kabobs, Spicy Rice and Garlic Naan. Flavors were really remarkable. I love coming to Sheesh Mahal. They have the best menu and prices! The service is unmatched. The owner is so very kind. I suggest going in a group and ordering a bunch of different things to share so you could try everything! I've tried most of the dishes and there isn't anything I don't like about them. You can adjust the spiciness of the food. I love that if you bring kids they give the kids little juice boxes. Big groups are great. They are always busy but the food is always fresh and perfect. I ordered take out and it was delicious! Actually better the next day!! The flavors married in the sauces and wow! The building and inside is nothing to look at so don't let that deter you. The employees are genuine, warm and friendly. I ordered gol gappay, saimosa, beef shami, paneer pakora, spicy rice, palak gosht, garlic naan and raita. All of that food for about $40! Very fair prices. The gol pappay where perfectly crunchy and seasoned nicely. I enjoyed the sauces (turmeric, cilantro and yogurt). They are even better the second day! I ordered the palak gosht spicy and I wish it was spicier but the spice does build after awhile so overall I was happy with the spice level. The goat itself was delicious. Very tender and juicy. I enjoyed this with the spicy rice. To me the naan was just ok. I found it too soggy. Maybe this is just a to go situation. It also wasn't as flavorful as I expected. I think the oil for the paneer pakora was a little bit hot as these were very dark and had a slightly bitter taste. Don't forget the raita! It's so yummy to add to anything spicy and cool your mouth so you can keep enjoying your food! I would order here again and try more food as I did overall enjoy everything even with a few missteps. When we came in, they let us sit at any single table. We were quickly waited on bringing us menus, water, and hot tea, their own blend. It was so different and savory there are no words.We both had seconds. I ordered the Green Marsala Butter Chicken and the spicy rice. My bf ordered the Goat Biryani'. He said they were both out of this world delicious. Unfortunately, I forgot to tell them about my jalapeño allergy and couldn't try either. Here's what impressed me the most. They took back the spicy rice, we kept my original dish, and they let me order the butter chicken (I had them add medium spice) and the white rice with cilantro. It was so yummy! The portions were quite large and we took a lot home to freeze for lunches. For dessert, we shared the Gulab Jamun. They are like honey soaked cake donut holes, sitting in a syrup. WOW! To sweet to have more than one, but again Wow! We're saving the other two for dessert later. I have never had waiters be more respectful and accommodating because of my food allergies. This little place is definitely worth the find. Parking is easy and service is friendly and quite fast even though they are very busy with both walk-ins and take outs. We were craving Indian fare and this Pakistan menu suited us fine The two of us shared a Chicken Tikka Masala, Paleek Paneer (to get those veggies in), and a Mixed Dahl (love those lentils). We also had the spicy rice and of course some garlic naan. The meal is served with some nice hot tea Everything was so delicious and well prepared. We ordered medium spice and it was perfect for us. It is not "fine dining" with white table cloths, 18/10 flatware, etc. It is my go to location for amazing flavor and some of the best naan I have ever had. The food is incredible. I need to use the QR code to access the phone based menus. The single page laminated menu doesn't give me enough detail to know what I am ordering, but the digital menu is very helpful. You are served hot tea and water upon arrival. The food comes out quickly and is always hot and spiced to spec. The people are very friendly and helpful if you are not sure what to try on a first visit. Go and try it. Know that you will be eating with plastic ware and foam plates, but the food you will be having is some of the best in the central plains! read more

There was so much leftover, she took it home to share with her husband for dinner. The mildly-spiced, creamy butter chicken was definitely the star of the meal. The mixed dal was also good, but I asked for mild, and the spice level was at least medium. Be very specific about your spice needs!
